Having a bad neighbor is nightmare
HOA is the answer for a situation like this
@@jogmas12HOA is another kind of nightmare.
@@TheAlgomalo only for condo owners because you are forced to pay to fix another’s roof. But SFR homes in HOA 🏠 are not like that. You are responsible for own roof etc…. Just like non HOA homes 🏠 really the only thing you are responsible for in a SFR home 🏠 in an HOA is your property upkeep, mowed yard etc….
@@jogmas12 HOA's are trash. Usually always have Karens on their board.

If she was using a gas stove it would be removed and she would be fined.
One plastic bag. One plastic drinking straw. They would go nuts.
That junk yard has been building for way longer than just a few years!
A six acre isn't a yard. It's a landfill.
Yep most likely before karen moved in next door
Looks about 10 years

Of course something bad has to happen that's how Los Angeles works
I'll bet it was like this when she moved next to him. She could've lived anywhere else, but chose next to him. Now she wants the government to make him do what she wants.
She should file a lawsuit against Los Angeles, the homeowner, and anyone else that is responsible
Lady, you been living there for three years.. your neighbor has been collecting junk for way longer. 😂
😂 she's giving Karen vibez

Why should he, no HOA he can do as he wants, she made to choice to move there, stop complaining.
Obviously dude cant block her driveway but the rest is what it is. Shes making claims that are not accurate and so did this report.

The naibor is just pissed cuz the mess
If you look at some of those properties in Sun Valley apparently some of the residents have been living this way for years. 🤔
Very true, plus Sunland/Tujunga/Sylmar. City only started to listen once people with connections started whining. I get her concerns though. These issues and **way worse** have plagued this area since before AOL dial up was available. No one even took you seriously back then. Now, with enough “concerned citizens” a collective voice (aka squeaky wheel) gets fixed. Can’t totally blame her though.
I noticed that whenever I hear about one of these junk houses, it’s always the son of the owner living there.
Kinda like someone moving in next to an airport and then complaining about the noise. Sun Valley has been a bit eclectic in my memory. I'm 76.
Well apartment complex built near willow springs their complaining about race track ...all know it's there ..was there before them
I’m pretty sure this is Shadow Hills 🤔 They share the same zip but one is pretty than the other 😅

So wait a minute... Her son lives at the junkyard...? 😂 Honestly she just sounds like a nosy neighbor stopped worrying about what people have in their own land.
She should call the A-TEAM. LOL
B.A and Murdock would build a tank out of that mess

This is why I intend on buying 100 acres and building my house at the center point with big tilt up concrete walls.
Kids are safe, heck when I was a kid going to play and explore the local junk scrap yard provided afternoons of joy. 😊
That shipping container is going to cave in with all that weight on top of it. They aren't designed to hold weight like that isn't on the corners. That's one safety violation, and I can only imagine how many more. Laughable that the useless city hasn't fined them.
That has meth addiction written all over it

Leave those poor people alone
Why? The hoarders? It's a hazard!
One man's trash is another man's treasure, you don't like it, move somewhere else, maybe find an HOA.
People are so nosy. That’s not your land stop worrying about other people stuff

I was expecting to see classic cars or motorcycles nope just junk
What if his junk identifies as decorations and art
Read a long article on this earlier. Basically, his elderly mom owns it and her loony son lives there. She was jailed temporarily for it, and admits she enables him. The authorities did inspect the property, some cars flagged by the CHP were towed, but ultimately said they can't do anything.
Most of that junk and abandoned cars have been sitting on that property for over 20 years. It was almost all there when she bought her property. She's just saying it started three years ago. I think that this woman may have Flunked First Grade.

this totally sucks but isn’t sun valley itself a junkyard?
People are not supposed to mix heat, chemicals, and pooh-pooh. Those mixtures can cause death.
If the junk is on their property, then who cares
It depends on if their chemicals get mixed with pooh-pooh. They might cause an explosion.
Doesn’t the city have an ordnance enforcement department ? (Oh wait this is California, that explains it)
If his yard looks this disgusting, imagine what his living conditions are like? Where’s the Health Department?
Yeah, the house burned down, so he's probably living in an RV and dumping the sewage there.
It's probably an unincorporated area of the county. lower taxes means less public services and code enforcement. they still complain, ofc.
I’m sure big government in Texas or Florida who can’t even keep their electricity on would step in and tread on their citizens if this ever happens.
The Fire Department is the one to handle this. It’s a major fire hazard to the ability of the Fire Department to protect not only the home owner but a hazard for the neighborhood
In Riverside County, the cops will handle it if it doesn't get cleaned up.
@@MrJuvefrank I mean the FD can rule this a fire hazard and order the removal of it all. My Mom is a hoarder and it took the Fire Department to force her to clean out her apartment. Now she owns her own home and it’s just so bad.

Not to worry, call Ghostbusters..
I don't believe in the Ghostbusters.
Is there no Zoning laws in that area?
Condemn the property as a substandard property - hazard to public health and safety. IPMC (international property maintenance code 108.1)- if anyone is interested. Forcibly remove the residents if they are unwilling to leave. Abate the violations with a full task force of city, county public health, state and federal (EPA) officials . Send the owner the bill or put it as a lien on the property. Problem solved.
It's probably not a hazard to public health and safety. People like to exaggerate.
@@argon62 It depends on whether pooh-pooh and chemicals can come together. People just have to hope there won't be an explosion if they do.

Everything does not add up. First of all, she probably got her property really cheap because of the neighbor and now wants to kick him out. Unless she and her husband, both teachers thought it was a good idea to spend over a million dollars (according to her) on a property next to a junk yard. No one forced her to move into that dessert hell hole.
They just want to take his property that’s all

Monica Rodriguez doesn't give a crap about the residents of her area . Same for this mayor.
Seems like a nice lady and understand your safety concerns. However, since Foothill Revitalization Project the area has been attractive to real estate investors and bad behavior that greed causes. City never stands behind residents who have made this area their home for decades but allows people with dollar signs in their eyes to get their way. As with everything, depends on who you know and who you went to school with or your family knows. This area has had these issues for decades. Once “respectable” people moved in, then the city listens. Old timers like me have been dealing with this for 30 plus years in the Foothill area and never got a response.
The nicer the car, the more clout you carry?
Sorry to hear about her husband though. Hope she can come to an amicable solution. Most people in the Foothills above Burbank are not amicable.
You know there was a time when everyone respected the Clampett's. Terrible what society has come to.....
even without all the junk it's a fire risk in the area and has been. you choose to live there you should know about the risks.
That’s not the issue. This issues is that she couldn’t leave her property in an event of a fire, due to her exit being blocked by those vehicles that belongs to the neighbor
All that homeowner had to do is build a fence tall enough to hide what they didn't want to see on someone else's property. Lawsuit is like asking authorities to bully someone on their land.
A fence won't stop a fire!
There is a chance pooh-pooh, chemicals, and heat might get mixed. Whenever that happens, it explodes.
