    I bought a Sparco Grid-Q which is aimed at drift racing. For me it has two advantages compared to other racing seats: 1. Because of the shape you are not so much fixed in a position and can steer freely. 2. The bottom and back have exposed fiberglass without cloth cover, so it's easy to directly mount tactile transducers. There are now 9 transducers for different effects and it really adds a lot immersion for me, especially in VR.

    i´ll never go with bucket seat. i love my old merc slk recaro sportseat. way more comfort for me than any bucketseat and its a real car seat so its way more stable than all the crappy simseats

    You may wish to consider trying the bucket for a longer session and you could well be surprised. I also have lower back issues and since changing to bucket with half cushion as lumbar support ive not had a single issue ;)

    Bucket seats not necessary because you are not really moving around

  • @GTdriver81

    Both seats are bucket seats by definition, the RS12 just has no support for helmet wearers, less lateral support generally and has an adjustable recline angle. Much easier to live with.

  • @13guns87
    @13guns87 3 місяці тому +1

    No i haven't as it was explained to me. Reclining = flex and buckets= no flex. I went with bucket cos it was cheap. I dont need a chair to recline as i have the F-GT frame. If something aint comfy enough, just add more cusions.

    A new seat is definitely my next investment for my sim rig. Especially one of those GT Omega seats. I’m using the F-GT Next Level Racing Cockpit seat rn, which I love, but the chair has been giving me lots of lower back pain after a year of usage which sucks lol

      @efenba 4 місяці тому

      Lower back pain sometimes can be fixed with seat adjustment or extras like the pillow Digit uses. You may want to check those before investing in a brand new (and more expensive) seat

    The best seat for comfort out there right now is the Next Level ERS3 and at 249 here in the US it's a steal. It not a high bolster type chair so it will fit the bigger guys very well.

    I like bucket seats more . I just put a pillow on the bottom and back for more comfort .

    I have the RS12 on the GT Omega prime, one thing that really annoys me is that you cannot adjust the angle of the seat, it’s completely flat, I wish they changed the bracket option, I’d never recommend it as an office chair, way to hard, for that I use the Herman Miller, Logitech Embody, Best advice if you use an office chair everyday, just invest in a proper one, your back will thank you when your older, Plus it’s extremely comfortable!

    I owned the GT Omega seat you have pictured and while it was wide I found it for me to be extremely uncomfortable. The new ERS3 from Next Level seems to be a good choice although I have never sat in it

    Everyone's mileage varies with this stuff.
    But on a sim why do you need the lateral support and crash protection.
    Not even sold on it's more immersive when you hop from a GR3 or 4 car, do the TT hop back in for a race that takes 6-25 mins.
    As I said people mileage a preference vary, but it's more a style choice than optimum?

    These seats are good for sim racing for maybe few hours at a time but seats like that tend to be also sold as "gaming chairs" and should really be avoided get an ergonomic office chair.

    This is a click bait title, because for sim racing its a no brainer its the bucket. You cant achieve a 90 degree bend in your knees with a normal seat.

    I'm on the smaller side and have a Sparco Sprint, it's a tight fit even for me and I'm sure you wouldn't even be able to use it. I do use a pad like yours for my lower back and in a larger seat I would sometimes find myself leaning in turns, not gonna happen with the Sparco.
