Dimash sang Ikanaide (live and for the first time in Japanese) on the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021. Because of the pandemic, the annual Tokyo Jazz Festival took place online again. Filmmakers verify that the videos have not been edited and manipulated, so the singer sings live.
In 2020 Dimash also participated in the famous annual Tokyo Online Festival with 2 songs:

The original Japanese version Ikanaide/ Please Don’t Go (composed 1989) is by Koji Tamaki, *1958, Japanese songwriter.
The sad true story... very touching: It is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920-2014), a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling.
Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese.

In 1993, Jacky Cheung (*1961, singer and actor in Hongkong) adapted the song into Chinese Mandarin, calling it Late Autumn: ua-cam.com/video/dtM2EsgHD3M/v-deo.html
The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics and meanings… and of course Dimash sings both very differently. Both are based on a same true story.
The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for how fate affected Yoshiko Yamaguchi's life. ...sad but inevitable and irrevocably
The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss, is full of pain, pleads, suffers ... heartbreaking.
I'm totally mesmerized by how sensitively Dimash differentiates and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. Even his whispers and his breath are music... it breaks my heart and the tears flow... and at the end everyone suddenly holds their breath, we hear Dimash breathing, then a deep and comforting hum.
I've never heard anything like it from a singer in my entire life. Only Dimash can do that. This is true mastery.

Это в китайской версии девушку департируют и они расстаются навсегда, а в японской там другая история - жена умирает и он просит не покидать его и остаться навсегда с ним. Но в обоих версиях есть великая любовь и Димаш проникновенно показывает всю боль расставания и отчаяния ! Мне больше нравится японская версия и крупный план Димаша. I always hold my breath for every Dimash performance and only when he's finished I find myself beaming, he literally takes my breath away, every single song takes us on a journey
Thank you for your reaction and for understanding Dimash. Yes, Dimash creates in me different kinds of emotions that I never experienced before, not for an artist or anybody else. Firstly, his voice is so beautiful, expressive and emotional that it reaches so deep into the heart and soul and turns everything upside down and makes you feel like you are floating somewhere. I have been listening for him daily for over 3.5 years and I still have the same sensations as if I am listening for him for the first time. And he still moves me in the same way, brings me to tears. I call him my soul healer. And yes, there is this feeling that he is like a close family member who you care about like your own child. I think it's partly because it seems that he is singing from his soul straight into yours, allows you to experience and express your own emotions through his performance, and partly because he is really such a nice, kind and humble human being spreading love and light around him that the better you know him the more you care about him because of his personality and humanity as well. This becomes especially clear during his solo concerts, it's an experience like no other.

Don't worry, you're not the only one who feels pride watching him perform. Dimash has this gift of bringing people together as if they were part of a big family, his family. He often mentions that he considers his DEARS as members of his family who support and love him unconditionally and he gives us that love back with each of his performances.
Even when I introduce him to new people around me and see the wonder in their eyes, I feel great pride as if he were someone in my family. How not to be proud of the man he has become, a human being who puts his moral values before fame and who is devoid of hatred towards anyone! (Thanks to his parents for his good education!)

Мои чувства , когда смотрела,как вы лично реагируете- могу описать так- "Я не смотрю на тебя, я тобой любуюсь..." И я испытываю такие же чувства- гордости, восторга, восхищения и благоговения... А про само выступление Димаша могу сказать,что это самое нежное, восхитительное, чувственное и зрелое исполнение "Поздней Осени". Ничего на меня так не действует, как эта песня с самого Сингера. Возможно, ещё разные варианты "Знай", песни- молитвы, песни- исповеди Димашевской Души...Бесконечно плачу, вся жизнь проходит перед глазами, все радости жизни, любви, потери и моменты счастья...Благословенный Димаш даёт нам радость и утешение...давно перестала задаваться вопросом - как он это делает? Dimash sings with an expressive richness that's meant to blend with the emotional flow of the music. The whole presentation is unified: the music, the emotions, the expression, the execution, the techniques, the plan, the meaning, the words, the facial expressions, the body language, the language language, the attire, the private studio, the equipment chosen, etc. It's all tight, it's unified.
Reminds me of Story of One Sky, another unified production. I think Dimash is starting to move beyond just technique, or rather, he's becoming more demanding of what technique can do expressively. He's trying to find the meaning of each passage and express it in details clean and clear. His quest is inevitably involving genius mind in all adjacent areas of production. Results like this one might not seem as obviously amazing as some of his showpieces, but the multidisciplinary technical mastery needed to express meaning so well is pa. I don't know what pa means, but that's what I wrote.
