what broke down was the old hydraulic launch. It has LSMs now which are a lot more reliable. the downside is that they can't accelerate as quickly. there's no way you could go from 0-120 fast enough to clear the hill in one shot on an LSM (at least not without an ungodly amount of electricity & enough magnetism to remove a filling). So the new spike was a necessary addition to be able to use the launch multiple times.
The thing is shaking and shimmying as it slowly makes its way to the launch. I give it a couple of years before the trains/roughness becomes something they have to address. This is self-destruction level bad (tearing the train and track up) when you consider the speed its traveling.

People that were there for media day also got special invites, and they know if they want to get invited in the future, especially with Cedar Fair/Six Flags, they have to say positive things, otherwise they won't be part of the "cool kids club," and their theme park media business might fail for not getting invited to do media day coverage. I'd take what you hear from media days with a grain of salt.
@@GalistiaI rode it today and yes there is a shake you can feel, certainly more than the OG dragster, but the thing is solid and it certainly didn’t feel like it was gonna shake itself apart or whatever.
Everyone always likes to trash that first launch but it’s definitely worth noting most amusement parks in the world don’t have a ride that goes as high or as fast as TT2’s first launch… and on this ride, that’s just the warmup! The scale of this ride is hard to overstate
Would be far better if it launched you nearly to the top of the top hat on the first launch. The acceleration by far was the best part of the original. They took one of the fastest launches in the world and turned it into a mid ride. Not worth the trip to CP.
