- This is my honest review of Top Thrill 2 at Cedar Point when i rode it back in may 2024. I was very lucky to get a ride on this beast of a ride! Hopefully it will be ready for the 2025 season!

What I don't get is the "they don't know how to fix it" part. Isn't the issue the trains? Just go back to Intamin ffs and buy 2 trains from them and call it a day.
@@teddym2808 True that, but there is probably more going on… 😪
supposedly there was some damage on the supports and track of the ride due to the heavy trains, so they will likely need to fix that too
@@udon601 Ahh OK that is unfortunate but makes more sense. I would think that nearly 5 months and no fix should tell CP that Zamperla don't know what they are doing here and they should go elsewhere. In fact, I would be asking Vekoma to take a look whilst they are currently buying another new coaster from them. Vekoma these days are geniuses and ultra reliable.
@@teddym2808 i agree 100%, and to be honest i dont know why cp trusted zamperla to make a 420ft spike and launch system like zamperlas tallest coaster prior to tt2 was only 150ft
@@udon601 I agree, the launch though, Zamperla have been doing LSM/LIM for a long time, and I guess CP thought the spike was just straight track so "what could go wrong". I have always put them at equal blame to the manufacturer cause they always go cutting edge then are upset when there's an issue. Zamperla is to blame, and CP is to blame. But I mean they won't work with Intamin anymore even though the last time they had an issue with a prototype was over a decade ago - why not be logical and think "OK, Intamin quality has matured, let's get them to put in an lsm swing launch since they literally do that all the time now, and new trains". It doesn't make sense. It's like they are their own worst enemy.
Cedar Point just announced a tilt coaster for next year. either they are trolling us or trying to distract us from this debacle

This is my home park and I'm here weekly. From what I've heard the ride is off-center. There have been surveyors with lasers on the track the last few weeks. Someone told me they would have to move the entire Top Hat over a few inches. This is the cause for the rattle in the trains which is what's damaging the wheel carriers. This issue is also causing stress cracks in the support Columns of the top hat.
I even talked to an employee who worked tt2 opening weekend . He was off the clock at the park and said he knows what's wrong with it but can't say, but that he would never ride it again and it's much more than just the trains.
Of course all of this is speculation but I've read and heard this multiple times.
They got Sirens curse ,because I think they know they can't promise TT2 to next year.

Quite the contrary, Intamin wanted to extend the layout which would have required tearing down Iron Dragon. CP was not willing to do that.
