If you use Fade In as your base In Behavior instead of Fly In, the Offset just governs how fast the typing happens and it stays onscreen after it finishes, and you don't have to make another annotation after the one with the Behavior on it.
Man, i love watching your videos...i actually stopped this one at mark 10:51 when i realized how you were going to make it like paper in a typewriter! 😲 you are really good at this stuff 😉...oh, i know i'm a little late on commenting however, i just started teaching myself and your videos are superb! and just got the 2022 upgrade, can't wait to see all the cool stuff you will teach us coming up 😎 thank you!!!!! 👏
Cristi -- do you know if there's an easier way to do this in 2023? It seems odd that a slower reveal of words wouldn't be doable these days; it's used all the time on Tiktok and similar platforms. The version you demo here is obviously beautiful, but involves a lot of contortions. :-)
I think so. In 2023, I add the text annotation, add a Reveal behavior to it with the following settings: Style: Reveal Type: Text - Left to Right Movement: Linear Direction: Left Speed: 100% Offset 0.05s Give it a go, see if it works for you.
@@Graphicious Thank you! Just the cheat code I needed. For what it's worth, I set both the "During" and "Out" sections to "none," and instead of "Left to Right" for text, I did "First to Last," since my text spans two lines in the text box. Worked like a charm!
Love your channel and tuts.... one thing though. The type & paper would not need blur... It's a typewriter not a race car. LOL Thank you much for one of the most helpful Camtasia channels on YT.
I tried to follow this lesson on Camtasia 2021, on behaviours-in it has Style movement and speed only, what do l do to get type? Also l don't have the prestige font?
Which behaviour are you using? I used fall in but I think you can use others with similar effects. As for the font, you can use other typewriter-looking fonts such as Courier etc.
In case anyone else runs into this problem you have to select an annotation with no background. If you select one that has a background, the Type property will not be available (even if you set fill and outline to 0% opacity)
I'm always dumbfounded with how a program/software like Camtasia can have so many effects in it, but yet can't offer a simple solution for something like a typewriter effect. As much as that effect is used, there should be specific behavior or setting within a text box that just does it for you. Seems like a no brainer to me.

thank you🙏

Gracias
De nada!
Thank you. Nice animation. Would the last letter remain if we used revealing behaviour?
I don’t know, I haven’t tried that
Maybe Camtasia could offer a typewriter effect feature so we don't have to make all these little individual tweaks.
I am sure they could but I don't see it as a core feature. It's probably not a priority.
Thank you

Yeah, it's up to you. It can add a little realism for the movement.

why not use fade in it is better than fly in
Yes, I think that works too. Check the other comment on this video from Clint Hoagland.
Couldn't you just make the last character a space? So it would be full stop followed by space.
I tried that and it does work but I didn't like it, it was offsetting my alignment, you have to always remember to add it, etc.
