Phil Lynott (1949-1986) was asked in an interview what is was like "being Black and Irish". His sly response was. "Like Guinness - smooth" There is a bronze statue of Phil Ly' in central Dublin. Thin Lizzy have been nominated for the Rock Hall,...not yet in...elegible for a number of years [Lizzy deserves to be in the Hall!!!
That statue is outside the bar I used to work in. Apart from student doctors there were about two black kids in Dublin in the 70s - Phillo and an adopted NY kid, Sean, in my school. Lizzy grafted hard for that success. Ta for your reaction.
Im irish i live in Ireland all my life just have put that in unfortunately because people say there irish and never put a foot on irish grass i love phil i love gary moore i love rory all irish all were together at times i know rory and phil had shit but they love was still there i miss u guys im a old man as u probably guessed
A wild concert outside of one of the most iconic buildings in the world, The Sydney Opera House, couldn't fit all those folks inside, so let's have it outside. Right On! The late great Phil Lynott singing his heart out and the rest of the crew doing it to it. Killer song, even if the band didn't like it too much, the crowd did, and that's what counts.
Yep, this is old school. This is my era when Marshall stacks Gibson Les Paul guitars ruled! Oh, and last but not least, the Fender Bass guitar. Those were the days, when life was a bit simpler! ☮ 🎸 🎶
Gary Moore playing the famous Greeny Gibson Les Paul that Kirk Hammett from Metallica bought for $2 million. Love Phil Lynott, get songwriter, great singer, and great bass player.
You gotta do "Bad Reputation", "The Cowboy Song" and "The Legend Of The Black Rose", "Emerald" and "Wild One". There are so many more too that rock. Love this band!
This was a huge commercial success with the rifs and lines used by many advertisers. Basic Rock and not too sophisticated but it sure works to get a party started, I know, I've seen it happen several times in clubs.
I've had the pleasure of seeing them twice. Once with Phil and sadly once without. Herion's a Bitch.🤬☠ I still have the "Live and Dangerous" album. Best twin guitars ever🤩🤩 I met Scott Gorham before a show at the GSR in Reno in 2011.

Thin Lizzy are a fantastic band but this is not their greatest song. None of the band liked it and it was not going to go on the latest album. But their manager thought it was catchy and so it ended up there. It doesn't even feature a guitar solo from Scott Gorham or Gary Moore. Usually each song has one or two solos from them. This is not their usual drummer who was suffering from exhaustion. He is even better than this guy. The singer's father was from Guyana and his mother was Irish (where he grew up). I would suggest the studio version of "Suicide" next. It has a great driving rhythm and features twin lead guitar solos.
Good. To hear some Thin Lizzy’s reactions but Lizzy did so many better songs than this one. Try « Suicide » « Emerald » « Warriors » « Massacre » instead.
