btw, using leadstorm leadstorm, you can still move by bunnyhopping. it only reduces your ground speed, so sprint+jump and shoot while airborne. very powerfull at haz5 and beyond if mastered
the leadstorm oc is fun just because it has one of the highest dps in the game, and the drawback isn't as bad as you can bhop with it to be able to move while shooting, allthough it can be a little annoying. similar to the engineers shard defractor with the boosting unstable oc, but it my opinion a little better since you can kinda move with the leadstorm
Cold as grave works well with it because with blowthrough rounds you will kill everything thag comes close. The only real issue is if your teammates are not taming care of the ranged ones like septic spreaders and acid spitters. Or the springtail just at the edge of a cliff on azure weald.
9:18 if you jump before shooting your momentum keeps you going towards whatever direction you were heading, effectively nullifying the drawback of being stationary completely, so all you have to do is shoot while you are in the air, basically just B-hop.
there is also a mod that automatically B-hops for you if you hold space bar, its a verified one so you can use it even if the mission you are going with the lads doesnt have mods approved turned on, rock and stone miners!
I was going to make a Heavy tf2 joke, but deciding to be more original, I won't. *It costs 400,000 nitra to fire this weapon, for twelfe dreadnoughts* I lied
I like using A Little More Oomph to turn the Lead Storm into an assault rifle. If you take the upgrades that reduce spinup time you can get it down to a 0.1 second spinup, which is a lot of fun to use.
sometimes I use burning hell with volatile bullets on the revolver since the two compliment each other very well. if built correctly and joining a round with critical weakness, you can take down detonators with just a few shots
If you’re already on gunner you can just use your grenade(the last one you unlock as gunner I forgot the name). You can take down a bulk with 2-3 well placed nades.
I absolutely adore bullet hell, in combination with crazy stun chance and burn build up when at high heats you can spam into a crowd and watch them all freeze in place and set alight.
Really fun burning hell build: 12333, essentially a very standard burning hell build but with 2 major differences: cooling in t1, to counteract the extra heat generation, but the real special part of this build is magnetic bearings in t4, which gives you increased spin down time, but what it doesn’t say on the equipment screen is that it increases the time it takes for you to lose stability after stopping firing from 0.5 seconds to 1.25 seconds, essentially allowing you to stop firing, use the cooldown mod, and retain your accuracy
just keep bunny hopping with the Lead Storm OC and mobility barely will be an issue. unless you want to play close range hellfire bender, it's the only overclock worth considering
I tested all the Gunner`s Primary weapons for my self and wile the Thunderhead and Hurricane are fun, i didnt feel them coming anywhere close to the Leadstorm when it comes to damage output/ammo efficiency so i just stuck to the starter weapon. Currently using the Burn in Hell Overclock and its fun seeing enemies bursting into flames and starting to take damage just for being in front of me.
Neurotoxin thunderhead is insanely ammo efficient, usually taking one round to kill a group of grunts. It's slow in doing this though as you need to wait for the DoT to do its thing. IMO not really that fun but it will lead to you basically never needing a resupply on normal missions.
ok, i feel like some people arnt getting what i mean so let me explain. although the gun shows 2400 bullets in reserve the fact that every bullet, let me repeat, EVERY BULLET uses 2 ammo instead of 1 means that you actually have 1200 ammo in reserve. this means you are not firing 2400 rounds like the game may suggest and its fire rate is 15 and not 30. why bring this up? because since every bullet is using 2 ammo instead of 1 the game is lying to you about how much you have left. in the grand scheme of things it doesnt matter. a gunner like me will keep firing regardless of if each shot uses 1, 2, or even 5 ammo per bullet. and no, it is not made up for in the damage department as its still only 1 bullets worth of damage. if you think im wrong please point me in the right direction so i may fix my error instead of just telling me im wrong.
@@danieldameron2245 you aren't wrong, we are just saying it doesn't actually matter in practice, since the numbers are multiplied. My favorite weapon in the game, I decided it was the best option to deal damage along the match, you know you do the maths (Damage per bullet X Amount of ammo) and the result is noice, also if you add the burning damage when the weapon starts to overheat... Lovely
the only theme ive noticed that makes me disappointed in the balancing of drg is that damage increasing mods almost always deal less total damage than ammo-increasing mods.
So long as you have some nitra, damage improvement oc's definitely put out that damage a lot faster. Also making the funi number bigger is always good.
while this is true, it can still be better for a faster playstyle. The idea is that you spend less time in a mission, thus less bugs you have to deal with. (i do not do this, i am a cave crawler)
True, but your time to kill goes down. Most situations I’m in I need those bugs in front of us dead now. I’m less concerned with a hypothetical total damage increase since some shots will miss weak points/miss entirely and I’m unlikely to use every single bullet in my gun every game. Maybe ammo increases are the meta for modded difficulties, but for haz 5 damage increases are usually the way to go imo. There are exceptions for some guns I’m sure.
That's like complaining you have to choose between being set up to maximize MPG (fuel efficiency) or MPH (horsepower/speed) in a vehicle sim. Why would they design an option that is both more efficient and more powerful..? Besides being unrealistic, that would make it so you don't have any effective play style choices.
the leadstorm while probably my least favorite, is certainly still fun. Its nice to just point and click and not really think about anything else for a moment. That is until some random dwarf starts asking for a zipline for who god knows what reason, maybe they're a old fart.
A lot of people talk about LSLS and not enough about Burning Hell or ALMO. I love going toe to toe with enemies up close, and that stun, burn, or faster rev, it's super important for that. LSLS requires so much running and positioning to stay alive, even if you're accurate. Sometimes you're better off not using it, which is ridiculous. I usually use LSLS with ziplines so I can become a glorified chrismas ornament of death. It's the strongest, yet the sweatiest. Not worth the weight unless you position yourself with choke points, ziplines, and shields accordingly. At least, not in haz5. Haz4 even. It is more if a tactical gun and less about brute force, despite it's reputation. And I say this because the minigun is my favorite primary, and it is hands down the more skill based primary. You want to reduce the difficulty of using it wherever you can. Gunner's other 2 primaries are stiff competition.
Lead storm has that problem of being too much a chore to use. I'd rather spend 10 hours firing autocannon which I don't like than to fire lead storm for 5 hours because or how much aiming it requires. I just want to chill man.
Minigun is definitely a sweaty gun. If you can find Burning Hell or ALMO (A Little More Oomph) OCs, they are great for shredding close range targets. Definitely opt for the faster spinning barrel. Makes for a particularly easy minigun for plowing through hordes and positioning behind large targets with much less frustration.

Every time i play gunner i feel useless because my eng and driller can end swarms so much faster and easier and they have more than a 3 traversal tool count. I can’t dig, can’t go up, zipline sitting duck, takes forever to clear a swarm (comparatively). I just don’t enjoy it.
