I saw his old slash videos and then I got one and wasn't disappointed. I love it.
Slash is great, and it comes in brushed, brushless, 2wd, and 4wd versions, so even a child can learn with an affordable brushed one, and those still go 30mph, 15mph on training mode, which is the IDEAL intro to the hobby, instead of a Walmart one from China. (I actually made one smoke once by hitting a pillow at flat-out 2mph!)

cool video kevin! i've got the slash with the LCG and the On Board Sound equipped model. sounds like the real stadium truck and yep, on 3S, it's a beast! my plastic driveshafts went in the toilet after 5 bashing runs and the steel ones have held up perfectly after 4 years! cheers! keep up the cool videos!

Nice video! Picked up one of these RC's myself and they are an absolute blast. Question though, when you replaced the pinion, what was the size of the hex driver you used for the set screw? The 1.5mm is too big and the 1.3mm is too small and I cant find a hex driver that is in between that lol. I have been using that little allen tool that comes with it to change out the pinon but its difficult with my bear paws I call hands!

In my experience, the pinion came loose after a while of driving in grass. Luckily the spur gear didn’t strip, but I bought a spare just in case. Just a warning for anyone using Traxxas tires: check the tire regularly for unglued spots. My stock Sl4sh Ultimate tires came largely unglued in the front after ~6 months.
Mine stripped spur gears and pinion gears all the time. I changed them to metal and it breaks less often. Also it does terrible on the street I have to get better shocks I tried all types of weight oil and it wobbles like crazy on the street. it’s got a upgraded pinion hears harder steel and 15 tooth gearing. And I put in a differential kit tra6780 and that hasn’t broken but it does strip pinion gears but those are cheap

@@FRSNinja_007 very possible I’m doing something wrong, I took it to the parts store and had it worked on and it hasn’t broken recently. I think I had it too tight. I read online that you’re supposed to use a piece of notebook paper and press down. But I may have been pressing too hard. So it’s very possible I was doing something wrong.

I run the Traxxas Slayer pros with Big block conversions. They are so much fun when the transmissions aren’t stripping out lol

Those RJX tools are great. I've been using a couple different sets right beside drivers that cost 3 times as much, yet to have an issue. I order direct, and Anna at RJX has taken great care of me, even over here in the states.

Not worth it. Just need new shocks, body and a receiver with gyro(dumbo rc). Still have to buy better driveshafts(ALL), better esc, faster servo, better wheels/tires, a non parachuting body...
@@rotten2209 I mean, I agree with you on the driveshafts, the stock plastic ones break pretty regularly, even on 2s. The aluminum upgrades alone are worth the price difference for me, but on top of that you get the LCG chassis, stronger shocks, Bluetooth telemetry, and a faster servo with metal gears. Plus if I pick up an ultimate I can just use my two other slash for donor parts! (: what may not make sense to you could sound perfectly reasonable to another.
