Hi Jim. I’ve read this book this week too. I’m pretty scared of horror in general, but this one wasn’t over the top. Definitely clever in places. Love these one minute reviews!
Thanks Pat, it wasn't especially scary, I read it because it was the choice of the FOMO book club run by Gemma (Gem of Books) and Jack (Spread Book Joy). The concept was interesting but I wasn't invested in the two main characters.
@@jimsbooksreadingandstuff I know exactly what you mean. I didn’t have strong feelings about any of the characters. I thought it was kind of humorous early on, but not so much as it went on.
It was a novel idea and was certainly entertaining. I didn't like Amy or Basil and found it my least favorite of the FOMO picks I have read so far, but still okay and the others were pretty amazing like Jamaica Inn and Tipping the Velvet.
If you get the physical book it looks like an IKEA catalogue. Even with the eBook version there are diagrams of furniture between each chapter, and the furniture gets more sinister as the story evolves. It is an interesting concept, I didn't like the central characters but you might.
@@jimsbooksreadingandstuff It was okay. I'm leaning towards 3 stars. It was not my favorite by Grady Hendrix. I much preferred My Best Friend's Exorcism and We Sold Our Souls. However, I liked the quirkiness of it and the layout of the book. I hope I can make the FOMO discussion. That could sway my rating...maybe. 😂 You and I seem on the same page.
@@katsnoveladventures1863 It was a novel format, but I didn't care much for Amy or Basil, I hope I can get to the FOMO discussion too, I chose it because it was a FOMO pick I haven't read anything else by Grady Hendrix.
Great 1 minute review! I read this recently and enjoyed it, but I preferred My Best Friend's Exorcism.
This is the only Grady Hendrix I have read.

Great review and fair assessment I’d say! I really enjoyed the experience of reading this one and Grady Hendrix is definitely entertaining!

Another gem of a video Jim!
Thanks :)

Thanks for the review Jim. Haven’t read this, may pass on it. Enjoy your weekend!
