Wow, Rosey is killing it with the guests lately. Rainn's always a great podcast guest. Love it when he has people back, especially guys like Rainn who are just really interesting and thoughtful people.
I love how he says that he's got to do what people do to better themselves in order to be average. I'm exacly the same. Some days I get really angry about that, but it is what it is. Thanks for the cast and kudos from Brazil.
Don’t worry friend you’re not alone. Sometimes it’s a huge victory for me to stay silent and not erupt in anger. Even though that is a small victory it is still a victory to feel normal again. Keep fighting the good fight friend and remember you’re not alone.
Honestly going through some very deep depression and anxiety lately, this definitely is nice hearing from others speak on it so freely growing up the way I did talking about this stuff wasn't a thing.
This episode was a true delight. Rainn definitely opens up and he is such an insightful person. His statement that your truth don’t define you is so true. A part 3 would be great.
Never been a fan of The Office, but Rainn seems like an all around good guy. Going to enjoy watching this while drinking my first cup of coffee. Wishing everyone a wonderful week and Happiest Thanksgiving to those who celebrate 😁. I know how thankful I am for this podcast 🙏🏻.
Smallville, thinking back reminds me of better times with my brother and my childhood. My brother's paralyzed today and my gran has alzheimers. Also same story with my dad, never good enough or loved enough. Though I know he did a lot to take care of me, I still hold a lot against him. These kinds of parallels make the show very relatable. Hope to hear more about how you're really trying to overcome or have overcame these hardships. Awesome show mate
I adore this channel! Michael Rosembaum is so amazing, such a good host and always respectful of his guests. Keep making such quality content. I had no clue Rainn Wilson voiced Lex Luthor, two amazing Lex Luthors in one room! God bless.
Wow, I'm so sad for Rainn. I lost my mother nearly 7 years ago and it's brutal. And he has lost so many people this year Rosey, also very sorry for your losses. I adore your podcast. You're a terrific interviewer and a fantastic actor.
Still processing loss of my dad, almost 3 yrs now. Hurts that I can’t talk to him, I still have so many questions. My dad had a full life and was sick at the end, so I kind of accept better now almost three years later even tho when I got the news I literally collapsed on the floor crying.
I listened earlier and it’s another great episode. This is an episode that is going to really help me, I’m definitely using the tools Rainn mentioned and I’m definitely going to try his podcast. Thanks Michael and Ryan!
Very good talk. I used to be lost when someone would ask me about what religion I was and would notice my ma-aunt wouldn't and my fam would rely on her to be our spiritual guide. When she crossed over I opened my eyes and heart and realized I was Spiritual not religious which helped a ton in accepting people and pets crossing over. Knowing that our physical bodies are not immortal unlike our souls which are forever makes me appreciate everything more and knowing our loved ones are never really gone. I really feel the purpose of life is to grow as people , like to be kinder ,help, take care of others and ourselves etc.. and not to over think everything , just grow and be kinder :) One doesn't need to listen to other's spiritual opinions , have yours and be happy with that. With pain there is growth and it's all a test on how we deal with it.
"Hesher" is an incredibly underrated dark comedy gem that more people need to see. I'd love to hear Rainn talk about it in depth sometime. It really does connect with and share similar themes that he seems to discuss on his podcast. Loneliness and isolation, depression and grief, the crucial importance of acceptance and self awareness, letting the strange and unfamiliar in as a potential unforeseen catalyst for necessary change and transcendence . . . . Joseph G. Levitt is phenomenal in this film, as is the entire cast. Everyone should watch HESHER again at some point.
Dwight is one of my all time fav characters. So much laughter you've brought me and to see your wisdom n humbleness Rainn...awesome! Congrats on doing the 12 steps and all you've overcome.!
I almost didn't watch it but was told to skip the 1st season and was able to get into it and then go back..so glad I gave it a second chance..so many great moments
I always love hearing from Rainn. He is a modern day spiritual leader whether he acknowledges it or not. He has changed a lot of lives around him, and so have you Michael, for the better. Thank you for this podcast. It’s great. I really enjoy it. Been listening since episode 1!
My Dad is similar and so am I, I'll bottle things up and I have emotional inhibition, I don't tell any family I love them even if they say it, I don't hug anyone, I kind of just keep closed off, it's not that I don't love family and friends it's just that I deal with things by going numb and shoving everything down and I can't turn it on and off so I just stay standoffish.
I have ALWAYS thought about how add it is that certain sounds mixed together to a specific rhythm, called music, pleases us so much. It is indeed strange how sounds can entertain us and even turn our mood around and inspire us.
Wow... this is deep. My father went through lots of dramas and tragedies in his life. My mother came from a very happy family. So when she got with my father, she didn't know that rollercoaster she was getting on. But my father, well, he tries very hard. He tries very hard for my mother and for us. My mother told me a lot of his experience over time and I can't be mad at him. He hates sports but he went to my games. He hated talking to people and yet, he went to my teachers meetings, talked to my coaches and so on. No matter what happened in his past, he wanted things better for my life, for the life of my brother and for the life of my mother. My brother and I gave him a brand new truck for his 72 birthday. He looks at us with a smile and said, " I wanted it in blue." lol So we went back and got it in blue. lol I know I am blessed.
Phone Auto-Correct Edit: I wish there was someone in my life I could have a conversation with in regards to my eating disorder. At least it's inspiring me to maybe look out for someone in the future. Thank you for the podcast.
Really enjoyed the last time you had Rainn Wilson on the podcast. Looking forward to what conversations you guys will have this time. I watched the Shit Talkin’ portion last night. I loved the DnD reference he made there. Hope you have an amazing week! Keep up the awesome work!! Thank you for the incredible Sun Spin show this past Saturday!! Can’t wait until the Christmas shows next month ❤️ Love you Michael ❤️ Happy Tuesday ^_^
16:30 that’s my mum Treats me different to my sister Never asked how I am Never said she’s loves me Never said she’s proud Thank gawd I have a loving dad 😮
Eckhart Tolle, Wim Hof, Bruce Lipton, Gregg Bredan and Joe Dispenza are the BEST people who make it easier to get out of your own head and more connected to the universe.
I like Rainn's way of thinking. It is outside the box and very different to mine which gave me a completely flipped view point on things. Normally when I watch the pod cast it is stuff that I would do and would agree with right away. He gave me a completely different outlook. After watching a few of these, I'm sort of thinking that maybe therapists are like people who pretend to be mediums. Where they're people readers and say things that resonates the client but vague enough that you keep paying for more, like a medium who says "Do you know someone called Rose? Who has a creaky bathroom door? Who was the person who had the train set?" some people have an immediate connection with that (where I live they always say "who lived in Canning Town?" and I think, here we go 🙄). It's good that therapists can help you understand yourself more but then what? You know why you do things now, ultimately it is up to yourself to work out a change in pattern and these people aren't going to tell you properly or entirely give you what you need because they need your money and they don't care about the client personally. If you're paying (and it ain't cheap either) year on year for therapy, then it can't be working or you now have the tools you need but they tell you a different version of the things you know already and dress it up as new information... ...Says the person who doesn't take her own advice but sees the answer for other people 😉😁. Anyway, that's what I think and other people don't have to agree with me because we are all individuals. Purpose for me is to help others by being at the right place at the right time. For example, if I hadn't left home at 12:30, I wouldn't have seen that Rasta and gave him directions yesterday. If I hadn't been at the train station at a particular time than I couldn't have helped when the old lady fell down. So I believe all of our purpose is to be at the right place at the right time to help others and to be helped because when you are helped the person who helped you (yes yes I am aware that I am saying the word too much) also, feels happy or whatever scientific boost it is called. So you're both getting something out of it
Michael, you seem extremely focused, present, active and clear minded on every podcast. As a person who is also dealing with anxiety, I would like to know how much effort you are putting into being like this? Or in your case anxiety powers you rather then drains you? I’m asking because most of the time I feel cloudy, tired and sometimes out of it - anxiety sucks the life out of me. Have you also experienced the thing I’m talking about or have you always been energetic but anxious? Thanks! Roman
The argument against god stating 'Why is there death and destruction?' 'God wouldn't do that'.. Tell me how many video games, movies, TV Shows and books do we have where absolutely no drama happens? There's bound to be some but they aren't known because they' boring as heck. No the only interesting media we create has drama, it has loss, destruction, hurt. This world we live in was made by someone else, I believe that. It wasn't designed to be perfect, it was designed to be entertaining. Our creator loves us the same way a game developer loves their game and the characters they create.
Would LOVE to see Chris D'Elia on this podcast! With what he went thru recently, it would be cool to hear him talk to the best interviewer in the business, Michael Rosenbaum

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. ARE YOU NOT OF MORE VALUE THAN THEY?? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

Definitely wasn't talked about in my house growing up.
Hope you're better now.
Not only the best Lex Luthor, but also a great personality and interviewer.
This episode was a true delight. Rainn definitely opens up and he is such an insightful person. His statement that your truth don’t define you is so true. A part 3 would be great.
Rainn Wilson so great as the voice of Lex Luthor in the New 52/DC original Animated Universe.
I had no clue! That's funny!
Also in house of 1,000 corpses and it remake
All those and Super it doesn't get talked about as much as other Jamea Gunn movies but it's incredible and hilarious

Love you guys so much. I was lucky with my dad and i love him more than anything.
Rainn was awesome in The Rocker, I love these metal and rock comedies. 😊 Thank you, Rosey! You, Rob and Tom were amazing on Saturday.

Love your episodes and always enjoyable and enlightening. Happy that I made you a choice in my choices.
Loved the discussion on The Problem of Evil, & Rainn’s opinion on deities. Great pod.
He was incredible in Six Feet Under
I've never seen one full episode of The Office, but I'm watching because I know Rosenbaum conducts great interviews and hangs.
I can so honestly resonate with Rainn since that's exactly my spiritual perspective/journey that I am on right now. Awesome!
I am looking forward to watching this episode. Inside of you Tuesday is the best day of the week.
Subscribed to your channel mate, all the way from Glasgow Scotland...great content, loved the Anthony michael hall episode.

My condolences to Rainn for his loss. This marks the one year anniversary of my wife’s passing from brain cancer.
Rainn is a legend. Super and The Rocker are both underrated movies.

I saw Black Bird!

Great podcast! Love Rainn!!! But it’s ironic that Rainn is being interviewed by people who are named Michael and Ryan. 🤔
I liked his show Backstrom
The character Terry Carnation and podcast Dark Air is a ripoff of a show called Dark of the Night (@DOTNshow) which is more than 3 years older
Michael - I would love to animate something for you guys
Rainn is an interesting guest.
Fuck this is me and my old Man.

Is this a different monsters show than the one with Jerry o'connell, Portia de Rossi and Eddie izzard?
Maybe you could videotape your therapy and if something comes up that is an opportunity for him to better understand your perspective on the relationship you could share a short clip of it with him? I suppose the biggest problem would be he knows that you're an actor so how could he not question the candor. But...maybe?
