It’s one of those songs that you can drive and cruise to.. love this song
This is such a deep, heavy, discordant song. The way Chino dips and raises his voice almost seems like a drunken flow, it really kind of envelops you like water. There's a rushing, and a crash, and just such a haunting melody. Dark, lovely, eerie af, and my favorite song of theirs, hands down.

glad you picked up on the "Jaws" riff, and i think your interpretation of the song is spot on especially the "descent into madness" ending. Abe's drum sound on this record was informed by David Sandström of Refused's playing on "The Shape Of Punk To Come" album, he had developed a kind of "rolling drum" sound that Abe does a version of on a lot of the "Saturday Night Wrist" record of which this is one of the better songs on.
As for the "Saturday Night Wrist" album itself, it is my least favorite Deftones album but has some of the best songs they have ever written on it, if that makes sense. Many great songs but not much cohesion as an album but then again there was not much cohesion between the band at the time so i guess it reflects that well. Other standouts on that album are "Xerces", "Cherry Waves", and "Kimdracula".

Saturday night wrist was considered a weak album but it’s still one of my favorites.
Can you hear the crickets in this song , I also heard that this was a song where he leads a girl to a lake where he drowns her because he found out she cheated on him, and at the end of the song you can hear the crickets chirping after the violence! Love Deftones!!!
I'm not allowed to listen to deftones while driving. I have a GT500 and I'd end up putting into a wall at 150mph. Lol
