There's two major problems here: 1. Players are spoiled af nowadays, at least in the past they took shit seriously because they knew they were in a very privileged position. And I'm not even an old head. I just turned 22. I started watching the NBA after the Cavs title, but the recent behavior of the league's All-stars shows how entitled they are 2. The NBA sorely misses having a commissioner who isn't a bitch, Adam Silver spent the last decade bending backwards for players and lacks a firm hand to discipline players when needed. I don't love Stern, but some of the shit that happened in the last 10 years would never happen with him in office. We need someone who can give a reality check to these entitled millionaires who cry about having do their job 80% of the time, when every other generation before them could do it without saying a word about it.
@ignotouno523 social media has a lot to do with what's wrong with player's mentality today. They care too much abt what people online are saying bc they can see it all and they let that get in the way of being pure competitors. Worst example gotta be Ben Simmons. They probably would've accepted 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3 tournaments before social media.

Cheapest seats to this were 1000 and up and those were nosebleed ones. There was actually no defense the whole game. I think the league may be going back to the old school I hope. This was awful.
Replace the All-star game and call it the mid season break. Then have a showcase game of top free agents and unsigned prospects. These guys will ball out trying to turn heads... it could be lota of fun. You would get the occasional diamond in the rough. Something to consider.
The worst part is the league seems to not care either. They'll charge you thousands of dollars for the ticket to a game they know is going to suck I feel like giving the winning team something that's actually useful could help here. Idk, give home court advantage in the NBA finals to the conference that wins. Or even make it so that the losing conference loses one spot in the playoffs and a one more team from the winning conference joins the playoffs. Rookies vs All stars will probably be better that this crap

Brian Windhorst has suggested that athletes should be paid. Fans can have a more significant impact than they realize by refusing to purchase tickets, attend games, or buy merchandise. The NBA will take notice when revenue begins to decline. The NBA understands, like politicians, that there is a lack of unity among fans. The Montgomery Bus Boycott was successful because African Americans refused to ride or spend money, causing a significant economic impact. Regardless of personal feelings, the key is to hit the NBA where it hurts - in their wallets. If fans stop buying season tickets, attending games, and purchasing merchandise, the NBA will be forced to listen and make changes that will satisfy fans.
This is true in most areas of life/ business, but it takes abhorrent leadership to get to that point. Best would be for the NBA to solve its own issues first.
@@cameronno6039Also it will take a player probably of AllStar caliber to step up and speak up. No player is gonna risk that when they are paid millions. I made a post on NBA Reddit regarding my disappointment about AllStar weekend saying that I hate that I love basketball because what am I paying for and NBA mods deleted it. You cant even discuss your dissatisfaction as a fan. My post got like 50comments in 2seconds. I will feel no pain if the league starts losing money. But it will take a person within the league with power to step up. Kyrie did and look at what they did to him💯
the majority of fans dont watch the games or go to the games they buy the merch and look at stats on their fav sports website or app these fans annoy the hell out of me "oh my god my fav player got 34 7 9 and 7 turn overs he is the goat"
All-star game isn't worth it when you have playoff aspirations. Not worth getting injured. All the players see this as a vacation, nothing more. Agree on the point about contracts. These players are guaranteed generational wealth, so it's not surprising we are seeing an increase in player apathy. I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing players "1 and done" the NBA and basically leaving after their first guaranteed contract
I cringe everytime i hear a different person say the solution is to pay them more when thats the reason they're so spoiled in the first place & ive played organized basketball my entire life
It's a paradox. They dont want to try for 82 games while making millions of dollars, but also don't want shorter seasons, because they make less millions. When todays role players today are making all star money from a couple decades back, the pay scale has gotten out of control. Ironically as a Timberwolves fan, that Garnetts first big contract is kinda the domino that set it all in motion
It's obvious the the league has been castrated...The removal of physical play has made the league play much to soft. Players lack the edge to want to prove something...when big brother used to bust your ass in the driveway every night in one on one it made you wanna prove something and even though you loved him you would still knock him on his ass if given the chance. It fuels competition and motivates players more than money and shooting uncontested 3's. No one has the attitude anymore of MJ, Kobe, Bird, Thomas, Malone, Magic, Barkley, etc...Players now come and go as they please from team to team, they have way to much freedom. Adam Silver is the worst commissioner and he is killing the league. I remember when the NBA was more physical than international play and now it's the opposite, now we are the candy asses who are falling behind.
Kobe must be shaking his head in the afterlife knowing the MVP award is named after him and the effort put into the All Star game is the complete opposite of the Mamba mentality.

Nothing should change until people stop watching and paying for the product. The NBA won't get rid of the all-star game until them. I think it would be better if they just got an unpaid week off.
What are the ratings for the all star game? Everybody knows beforehand that it's not going to be a real game so I can't imagine many watch it. I haven't watched in like a decade maybe.
You're absolutely correct, I think the Allstar game should be a display of the young rising talent in the league with also making it a spectacle. The premise of all the stars playing at once is attractive but it doesn't really matter when there's no underlying narrative at play and I think the NBA should delve into that a bit more. Also giving it to players who actually want to play or ppl who make have beef with each other. I also think the in season tournament should be moved to the all star to give older players something to play for or create another version of that for the break that effects home court or something, I'm not sure, just spit balling. I'm sure I can come up with something better than they have currently.
I thibk the nba should keep it at 82 games but make the season a longer timeline to lessen the back to back. Start mid October and end in early July. It should be a shorter offseason but no solution is perfect.
One drastix way to get them to play more for real, a no free point rule in the ASG, if you're not guarded and you score, your bucket won't count, if you play hard offense but you can't score, the defender gets 1 point for their team. That won't fix anything unless they care about the score being anything above 30 points, because they could say "F this I'm not playing, bring the 3rd unit" and give out the least scoring ASG ever, but that would be more entertaining than seeing guys that would actually help their rival to score just because they don't care about it.
For the winning team: Salary cap forgiveness/restructuring for the teams with members on the All-Star team and increased lottery balls for the teams in the conference who are lottery eligible. Makes getting on the team worth it with the cap forgiveness. And the winning teams’ conference will inevitably get better, making it more likely that these benefits continue.
The current NBA has loss the plot, all diva multi-millionaires that don't give a s**t about their fan base. You couldn't pay me to go or watch an NBA game!
The fact that there's a big score, frequent dunks & all the best players on the court misses the point that what makes the game interesting is the competitive rivalries. No defence & just going through the motions as a professional player makes a mockery of the All-star game.
I live in Detroit. I went to pistons game a few weeks ago and got bored and left at halftime. NBA don't hit same anymore. These all star games are prove of that
I think the main problem is the perception that the NBA players are here to entertain us. The NBA is a sport first. Some athletes don't dedicate their lives to becoming the 1% of top athletes in the world to "entertain" fans. They do it to be the best and to win. If it's entertainment to anyone, it's going to be for some of the consumers. Some people don't watch basketball for entertainment, they watch to see elite basketball. The second issue is the damn media. If the media would stop dumping on players for not being available "when it counts", players wouldn't have as much of a problem with the regular season. But when they basically criticize players for being injured, it puts pressure on the players to be available (load manage, miss second night of back to back, mysterious injuries, etc.) so that they are available for the playoffs. The media has been part of the problem for years. In the end though, I don't think any one thing is going to fix the ASG. You can't pay players because that doesn't motivate everyone. I know if I made millions, why would I care about an additional 500K. I already have more than I could spend in a lifetime. Some are going to have that mentality. You can change the rules, but no matter what eventually you're going to get to a point where it doesn't matter. What might make a difference is eliminating fan voting and media from the all star ballots. You could have the participants voted based on stats instead of popularity, which would make players earn there spot every year instead of getting granfathered in because of popularity. There was no way LEBron James should've been a starter for the all star game. He doesn't even play defense, so how in the world can you expect him to in the ASG? There are simply too many problems for the ASG to get back to whatever it once was - eventually it will be eliminated.
“Pay them more” is an absolute clown take 🤡 👎🏾

i was gonna read that but i cant cause it's all 1 paragraph.. giving me a headache lol
🔥
There's two major problems here:
1. Players are spoiled af nowadays, at least in the past they took shit seriously because they knew they were in a very privileged position. And I'm not even an old head. I just turned 22. I started watching the NBA after the Cavs title, but the recent behavior of the league's All-stars shows how entitled they are
Replace the Allstar game with a 1 on 1 tournament! Let their pride and ego be the catalyst for entertainment
You know all the star players would just duck that shit anyway.
No one would participate, they don't wanna get their egos get buttt hurt😂 even world vs america won't fix this as they are all have friendly approach on these pick up game
Somebody proposed a H.O.R.S.E tournament. Even that would be more entertaining. The only good thing about this ASG was Sabrina vs Steph.
There’s a players union that would never agree to that ..
This is the most entertaining channel Ever
You all haven't seen anything yet. Thank you for watching, and Im glad you enjoyed
Bin the entire weekend. Only decent thing is the 3pt contest
Yup. U know what sad, I’m worried about the 3 point contest. How long will it be before players start doing like Anthony Edward’s and start shooting with one hand 😂
Thank you for existing
They might as well scrap it at this point. If there is barely 30% effort than why would anyone want to watch this?
Because it brings them revenue somehow
Brian Windhorst is that nerd that’s so desperate to be with the popular kids aka the jocks he is constantly simping for them and he’s a grown ass man doing this.
This is the best way I’ve ever heard him summed up. Nick Wright too.
Its cringy af, no idea how he got to the place he is at in life, he must have sucked off a lot of nba players and media personnel to get that job cause he is a bum 🤡
His career is all thanks to LeBron. Followed him all the way throughout high school, and it got him a ESPN job
Keeping his connections with these players is how he gets paid, so it's expected.
We call that a "Pick Me", but being a male pick me for other men is novel.
Just make them play the G-League, that "scared of injury" shit will go right out the window
Mac got Jalen Brown out of bed for the pride of it. Just do it. Make the G-league scare some life into these deadbeats.
I have been loving the Batman Animated Series clips edited in. One of the greatest shows ever.
I'm so sick and tired of guys like Windy and JJ Redick. They're worse than the likes of Skip, SAS, Shannon, etc because today's players can DO NO WRONG in their eyes. The former may have some horrible takes at times, but they're not afraid to call these players out on this straight FOOLISHNESS.
EXACTLY that’s why I stopped watching JJ because he always finds some cliche way to defend them
LeBron got "Windy" making demands on the players behalf huh? Pay these dorks to play on the all star game? Ain't they already paid? I'm done with these dorks.
Y'all heard what Anthony Edwards said, right? Imagine. Just imagine. For one SECOND. If that absolute blasphemy was uttered in the presence of MJ or Kobe. Imagine the looks of absolute DISGUST that quotation would generate. The league is soft today.
Yeah and I liked Edwards but the more I learn about him the more I realize he’s just like the rest of them. Entitled and out of touch
what did he say? I am not paying enough attention to these divas anymore so please fill me in
@@gristle_licker basically he said something along the lines of the all star game doesn’t mean anything so why try other than just goof around
He’s not wrong. The ASG has become such a joke that I wouldn’t expect players to try hard.
@@into_play3226 I mean sure but was this attitude that got all star weekend into the very sorry state it is currently in
"...with an added V-Bucks incentive."
Lmao
Makes you wonder how much effort they're really giving in regular season.
If draymond green was in the game it would’ve been 100x better with the wwe potential
LeBron, Adam Silver & Player Empowerment has DESTROYED THE NBA ❗️
No competitiveness.. its sad to see what the NBA has become
you know it’s bad when luka, jokic and KD were the only ones actually playing a little defense (they were pressing amd doubling ppl)
The magnets were on full force during the whole game.
I haven’t watched the NBA in years. Only reason I even know anything is because of videos like these. These videos would bring me far more entertainment than any current NBA game today. I find myself watching games from the past and not losing a bit of interest. It is such a shame how far this league has fallen.
Commissioner dynamo would be a better commissioner than Adam silver completely unironically
That was inspirational what you said about getting into your movie job and loving the atmosphere, and it shows through with your current job making videos. Please keep up the great work, this is the best basketball channel on UA-cam
Loved that place and I was my at happiest I'd ever been in my life working there or since but making videos and being able to talk to you all everyday is what brings me the most happiness now despite everything. Thank you for feeling that way. You all haven't seen anything yet.
They'll charge you thousands of dollars for the ticket to a game they know is going to suck
I feel like giving the winning team something that's actually useful could help here. Idk, give home court advantage in the NBA finals to the conference that wins. Or even make it so that the losing conference loses one spot in the playoffs and a one more team from the winning conference joins the playoffs. Rookies vs All stars will probably be better that this crap
Yep
I remember the mlb had the Home field advantage for the world series thing. I wonder why they took it away.
Commish, the NBA content creator MVP😭😭😭 love the vids man haven’t miss one
Sure, pay them! Why not?! Just not with my money.
They should pay them out of the proceeds generated by the weekend
Adam Silver sounded so dissapointed and pissed at the end
He enabled this
YOU HAVE TO MAKE LONGER VIDEOS BROTHER - Premium Content. The people know greatness when we see it and you have expert commentary and I love it. Truly talented. Don't stop and thank you for being vulnerable and letting us in your life.
Dude, you’re a comedian. This is good stuff. How many times I’ve told you to clean that room!
Idea: make each player on the losing all star team lose 1/10 of their salary for that year.
They complain about not being All-Stars but don't want to do the stuff that comes with being an All-Star.
Congratulations on 30K brother. Love from Norway
0:13 😂😂😂😂😂 my own personal reaction as well 🤦🏾♂️
168 3pt attempts is crazy 😢
Me and my son quit afyer the first quarter . Hes young and a newer nba fan. Even he was disgusted
Yep it sucks, switch to hockey
remember when you see the audience in background clapping ang cheering? now its completely dark. its like no ones in there. 🤣
You said it right….just care! What a mind blowing solution to such a tough issue….such a joke of a problem.🤦🏾♂️
I hope it’s possible that that can happen.
Like many others said they should just end All-Star weekend and the players don’t get a break at all.
We need to pay NBA players LESS. No more guaranteed money, make these narcissists earn that paycheck
I’m sayin bro
All-star game isn't worth it when you have playoff aspirations. Not worth getting injured. All the players see this as a vacation, nothing more.
Agree on the point about contracts. These players are guaranteed generational wealth, so it's not surprising we are seeing an increase in player apathy. I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing players "1 and done" the NBA and basically leaving after their first guaranteed contract
Getting injured is a weak ass excuse.
Ayton might do that lol
I cringe everytime i hear a different person say the solution is to pay them more when thats the reason they're so spoiled in the first place & ive played organized basketball my entire life
I'm an old head and honestly from the bottom of my heart, i miss watching those "plumbers" playing in the NBA when i was younger..
I wish I was an old head I feel like I got into it at the worst possible time in 2020
It's a paradox.
Thank god we don't have plumbers and firemen playing around anymore... 🤷
Euro league is actually amazing to watch and way better than the NBA so at least there’s that
Kobe must be shaking his head in the afterlife knowing the MVP award is named after him and the effort put into the All Star game is the complete opposite of the Mamba mentality.
Even Curry was not really that upset to be left out. I'm sure he was sick of it. 😂
Guys are making $40-$50-60million dollars per year (JAYLEN BROWN). But they need more money to compete in a glorified pick up game? Hmm hmm, mouth piece for Klutch sports says what?
Jaylen at least did the dunk contest
Guys making 50 million dollars bitching and complaining about playing 80% of the season.
@@i_fuze_hostages6 Respect him but he’s a tier 3 player who’s headlong the dunk competition and he’s a solid in game dunker at best, haven’t watched it in years but eh
This isnt even a pickup game theres no fear of getting put off the court this was legit a glorified layup line/shootaround
Ppl should check out the 2003 all star game highlights… from the 1st quarter you can see the difference. After you watch that you’d be insulted by the modern all stars.
Fake fights in the NBA after the All-Star game to try to make the NBA look tough
Tryna be the NHL so bad 💀💀💀
Best solution is....... the winning conference will have the home court advantage in the NBA finals...
Whoever win gets home court advantage regardless if they are 1st in their conference
I could not even get through highlights !
I'm sure I can come up with something better than they have currently.
i have be in street games that were more competitive and had more D than the "all-star" game.
Players don’t care anymore … I saw a report stating they want more money to do the all star game 😂 what a joke of a league man.
Whoever Loses gets to do 10 extra meaningless Games within their conference 😅😅😅😅 punish the loser
Oh the problem is that they don't make enough money 😂
Billy living the dream life 😌
Here's my foolproof fix for the all-star weekend... Get rid of it simple. It's dead and its been dead for years now cancel it its over! 👍🏿
I thibk the nba should keep it at 82 games but make the season a longer timeline to lessen the back to back. Start mid October and end in early July. It should be a shorter offseason but no solution is perfect.
Those July suns bucks finals were fire
no their should be included to their contract coz its their job if they dont play they lose money. like the nba do to them in the bubble.
That analogy at the beginning of the video says all.
0:13 that reaction is gold *chef’s kiss*
“There’s no ADDED bonus, no ADDED incentive” 😂
Just cancel it, its a slap in the face to hard working people everywhere
Damn commish not only do u not miss when it comes to ball but ur very wise I appreciated the part about loving your job big ups
euroleague is starting to look very tempting to me
I can’t wait to hear these players start to say” that’s not my department” ha ha ha
Whopper Watchers lol thats great. Don't have to watch too long since he downs it in probably 3-4 bites.
"get ratioed on twitter" too funny lmao!
Why do they need extra money when they already rich as hell to do there job
That's the problem when money is the only motivation - you always need more.
A million extra for the best defense and the score stays below 100.
Billy said "no😑"
😅😅😅
The nba just isn't worth watching anymore.
They should take 5% of the loosing team’s paycheck and give it to the winner.
Should All Stars vs Rising Stars be introduced????
And if rising stars win they take home the All Star's salary.
If you ever feel you're useless, just remember there are officials at the all star game
WELL SAID MY BROTHER. PREACH
I live in Detroit. I went to pistons game a few weeks ago and got bored and left at halftime. NBA don't hit same anymore. These all star games are prove of that
That’s cause your watching the pistons
