Don't you love the sound of rain on a ton roof!! It sounds so loud, even if the rain is light. Hope is so cute. She will be like a big sister to the new babies when they arrive. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. God bless you.
Al, You have a nice rhythm of life going on there. Socialising the goats is a labour of love and patience. Alison and I have been on the allotment today. Alison cleared the bed where we planted four fruit trees last month and an area which is an old greenhouse foundation. I cut all the grass paths between the beds and cut down to ground a 6mx2m sloping bed, removing perennial plants and a couple of trees. We will get membrane on this this week. Finally we planted a Braeburn apple, a Victoria plum and a Comice pear. Then the hail came! Which was just as well as we were pooped!! Also installed a bug palace onto an old tree stump. 😀😀😀. Happy homesteading! Spring is coming 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷. Regards Stephen.

I live in the tropics in North Eastern Australia and we only have 2 seasons and they are wet and dry lol. I enjoy listening to rain on a metal roof. Would spend a lot of time with the goats when it rained. :) You are the second family i watch who is not afraid to show their faith and pray before eating. :) Love it. I agree, Hope will be the bottom of the pecking order and picked on until she gets to full sized and proves herself to be worthy of being higher up, though I have a feeling if they do train her to follow them around they won't be able to use her for a milk goat and she'll never get higher in the order because she won't act like a regular goat
@@jemmasmom1 hope's old owners already did the best they could to avoid that, she was rejected by her mother, then by her adopted mother, but they still made her stay with the other goats and drink from a real mama goat. To me, it would be reall dissapointing if it ended like that for her, though Hope does have quite a personality from what i've seen of her old home

Goats love to chew on things so anything in your house may seem very tasty to them also they like to rip wall paper off. And they are herd animals so they need to have a buddy
So funny.. I think I may have looked away for a second or something when you guy’s started making the rolls.. when I looked back Olivia was standing there but she looked about a foot and a half taller LOL it tricked me for a second. My brains going like man she grew fast.. sure will be nice to see Hope bouncing around the yard again.. I never had an interest in having a goat even though we have plenty of room for well more then you could possibly keep track of. But I adore the playfulness of baby goats.. they are so much fun to watch. That plus Hopes story is a little bit sad so it will be good to see her thrive and enjoy her kidhood

I saw that behavior in our goats. Sweet Pea was a Nubian/Toggenburg cross. Carmalita was a French Alpine. They got along fine. When Sweet Pea freshened, Carmalita saw her status drop. She headbutted and pushed those two kids around until we had her dehorned. She lost so much confidence after that, she never recovered.

We had two days in the mid 70’s, then Monday BAM! overcast, rain, temp. dropped to 62. crazy. But it’s been very mild not much wind. We are having a super bloom here along the central California coast. My allergies have been horrible. I am looking forward to seeing goats together at last.

I saw that behavior in our goats. Sweet Pea was a Nubian/Toggenburg cross. Carmalita was a French Alpine. They got along fine. When Sweet Pea freshened, Carmalita saw her status drop. She headbutted and pushed those two kids around until we had her dehorned. She lost so much confidence after that, she never recovered.

We had two days in the mid 70’s, then Monday BAM! overcast, rain, temp. dropped to 62. crazy. But it’s been very mild not much wind. We are having a super bloom here along the central California coast. My allergies have been horrible. I am looking forward to seeing goats together at last.
