Update: So I had to travel recently and decided to tryout muOS while I was out. Install took about 10 minutes. I got stardew valley working in 3 minutes, it works perfectly off of steam.
I wish muOS had the UI of stock or knulli :(
have you tested it again on stock (i mean, if you loaded stock again into your pocket)? does it work at all? since there are some pc games that aren't very stable emulated on the rg35xx handhelds in particular or aren't working at all, although they are successfully ported, can you possibly make a video on some of those games? maybe a short video about the linux scripts, maybe off the topics you may be possibly delving into, but it would be helpful to have some brief explanation on how to write/mod the scripts (to move around the systems, for example) for people who would like to try modding the scripts themselves.
also took a look at your github repo, thanks for uploading the scripts!
Great video! I was with the impression port master is not installed but rather they use the files and similar execution system but that video helped a lot understanding what and where to look for in the stock os files. Thank you, and subbed!
Wow this is exactly what I've been looking for ages. Anbernic gave us a tease but no instructions on how to add Ports ourselves
Great video!
Tried MU OS, Knulli, stock OS, MU OS is in the Path for performance and hás Portmaster with lot of ports ready to run
Although if people want to play DS games, new stock OS plays those a trillion times smoother
Nice review and best of luck with your channel dude! There's nothing better at the $70 price point than this, it's such an awesome, compact and affordable hand held, can't say enough good things about it. Was very impressed by how many great games it comes with, it's a very well rounded library from many retro consoles and arcade classics. Great screen, controls and buttons too, there's nothing to really complain about. If you're on a tight budget this is the one. You get so much bang for the buck. Anbernic is the undisputed king of budget friendly retro hand helds that far outperform their price. The RG556 is just flat out amazing for the price too.
Thank you for your kind words!
If you're still looking to buy though, I'd hold on until friday, the RG40XXH will drop for 64$ ;)
@@zaks7 I picked up the RG35XX H last month as a gift for my brother who work travels a lot. I have the RG556, and I curl up with that thing like people curl up with a good book. It's such an unbelievably fantastic and capable hand held for such an awesome price. It's packed with nearly 5000 retro console and arcade classic games including a 480 game PS2 library SD card that never leaves the slot. I'm 55 and never outgrew how much I love gaming. I was 20 when the original Game Boy dropped, and I am just so blown away by how far hand helds have come since then.
Thanks for the video, enjoy your insights. My view on release often, even if improvements are not perfect, would give more adventurous people things to possible play with and even make more improvements. An idea might be for Anbernic to give us more development incremental releases and possible quarterly production release for the less adventurous. Thou with the possibility of swapping uSD boot disks gives us many different options.
Bros got that Asmr voice
I was thinking the same!
Nice!!! Thx a lot! :D Is it possible to create such a fix for Jazz Jackrabbit 2?
I purchased new 128 GB sd card as well. I suggest to take backup of ROM folders only to PC. then do update the stock sys firmware on card using aomei partition manager and card reader thing using Rufus. Once its updated copy the ROM folder back into SD card Rom folder and that's it.
Nice video Zaki bhayya. I have recently uodated it to 115 16 bit. I am confused if 64 is better or 16 just for gameplay.
The rgb40xxh is coming, look out. Little bit bigger about the same power. Same same.
Appreciate the stream .
Probably a stock issue but the battery for rg40xx h is 3200mah saying it lasts for 6hours while the rg35xx h is 3300mah saying it lasts 8hours.
How do i make my MuOs ports play on stock os? I have all my roms on a 2nd sd card but when i popped it in the ports would not run.
what about the other games launch script that is not included in your github?
hi, i follow your instruction, replace the sh. file but TMNT doesn't work, can you help me?
Just subd bro.
I caant find TMNT SR port on my device. Where can i get from?
I have paid version on Android where can I get port for RG35XXSP?
Does anyone have a link to a copy of the original firmware update? A torrent, or anything?
guys can someopne help me out with the 64gb v? please
Quake2, Return to cattle Wolfenstein, Half-life, Vice city on stock. Didn't expect that. Even Half-life 2 and Portal is running, but need some fixes with missing font for menu.
How did you achieve that? I cant make run the Apotris xD
@@YawdeeSandoval i think he change the code of the launch script.
@@YawdeeSandoval You can find the portal port files at the portmaster discord server! But of course, they are designed for muOS so you need to tweak them if you want to stay on stock.
@@YawdeeSandoval @YawdeeSandoval change in "game-name-SH" file gamedir to /mnt/mmc/Roms/PORTS or /mnt/sdcard/Roms/PORTS if u use second card. (case sensitive!). For some ports its work, but some need more tinkering with code

New firmware does not show Battery percentage while charging in off position. I think I might go back to the old one since I didn't buy this device to play PC games anyway so portmaster has no value for me.
any1 else is having problems with the new stock os? Cant get the full size of the sd to add games.
Please watch the video.
what theme is that? is that what stock os comes with now?
Not sure. This is one from the mod stock. There's a much much better synthwave theme for stock though, by @israelperez on github.
Is this a good device to invest in for someone who has no gaming experience but wants to try?
Thank you so much for the video. Great work!!!
It is. It comes with some roms out of the box so it's ready to play... further down the line, if you want to tinker with it, there are quite a few custom OSs that improve the experience based on your preferences. It is a great device if you want to try some retro systems and see if they are for you. For the money, I don't think you can find a better handheld.
🐐
I originally installed muOS and DS games ran like ass. So i switched to stockOS and DS games run buttery smooth
Wrong core. MuOS is much quicker with DraStic-Steward
I have Stardew Valley from GOG, can I run it?
Rg35xx h can run Stardew Valley on portmaster
@@TraverserStories16488 Yes I know that, I asked if can I use GOG version of the game? Because they recommending steam version and on steam there's some compatibility files which need to be copy
I think it's more compatible than the steam version. Take a look at the install instructions on the portmaster site, and get the linux compatibility version. Have fun!
yeah I was a little disappointed when they said they had the portmaster cuz I don't have Port Masters near that I can tell there's no way to just automatically download the the portions of the game and add your own files it's just I don't know what it is
Thank you for the vid!👾 It's a fun hobby and as long as piracy remains at bay, it shall remain fun.❤️
