RIP Rik Mayall. A true God of comedy.
Still missed by many. But as long as we mention his name he will live on.
Episode 1 is good too…it includes the infamous question “what do we do if we step on a mine”?
“Well current procedure, Lieutenant, is to jump 200 feet into the air and scatter yourself over a large area…”
Definitely need to do more Blackadder comedy gold
The guy to the right of BlackAdder was the actor Hugh Laurie who also played Dr Gregory House in House MD.
Each series of Blackadder is set in a different time period using the same main actors
This series is set in World War One.
Suffrage was the term used to describe British women's struggle to be allowed the political vote
Since this was a female movement the suffix 'ette' was applied resulting in Suffragette.
This movement started in England before WW1 but was generally put on hold during WW1
You need to watch the full series to fully appreciate Blackadder. The final scene in the last episode of Blackadder Goes Forth is extremely poignant.
If you like this, you really should watch the whole series of 'Blackadder Goes Forth' (and series two and three) as it's brimming with quips like those you see here. It's comedy gold.
MUST watch complete episode
NO THAT'S WRONG
MUST watch the Series
NO THAT'S WRONG
MUST watch all FOUR series
(even though series One isn't quite as brilliant as 2,3&4)
There are 4 series. The 1st is more like Mr Bean, but the next 3 are way better.
❤ from Northeast England ❤️
Love your reaction to this. ❤😂
She keeps making me come back.
Actually the average flight expectancy for new pilots in WW1 was 11 days… so it is quite a sad joke!
rik mayall was class in the New Statesmen, about the government coning everyone, esp the poor
Lol, Alan B'Stard
react to all of series 3. imo its the best one of the 4.
It was set on the Western Front in WW1. They are soldiers.
Suffragette was an early woman's right/ feminist movement, women demanding the right to vote. This is based during WW1, 1910s-20s. Earlier only men could vote in elections.
20 minutes life expectancy for pilots because, this was during WW1, and aeroplanes were were not as advanced as today. Airforce was kind of new at that time.
The casualty rate hadn't improved very much by WW2. Nearly half the Dam Busters aircrews were killed, for example.
@@geoffpoole483 Wow, hard to believe that. I thought survival rate would improve with improvement in aircraft technology through the two odd decades. But I guess anti aircraft technology improved a lot too during that time.
Why are you explaining things...lol.. We all know the answers to everything you said..
This wasn't even the really funny part of the episode. or the funniest episode. He has to crash, be captured by the Germans and rescued.
Flashheart rescued Blackadder from having to teach home economics to convent girls.
@@geoffpoole483 And this time it's Adrian Edmondson holding Blackadder not Hugh Laurie with Stephen Fry. But Rik and Eddy.
