Regarding 8 out of 10 cats does Count Down, Susie Dent has been recognised in the honours list. The lexicographer, etymologist, and author, 59, has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to literature and to language as part of the King’s Birthday Honours list. Well done Susie.
you gotta keep in mind that Susie and Rachel have done literally thousands of regular Countdown episodes. So maybe they treat it as a bit of fun time off or a parody anyway. And it hasn't affected their standing in the normal version. Also i was always sure, even before i saw this interview, that of course these stronger jokes were cleared with them. And often they have a prepared comeback at Jimmy.
Some news about Susie Dent MBE, The lexicographer, etymologist and author, 59, has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to literature and to language as part of the King’s Birthday Honours list. Great reaction to Jimmy being uncensored!
I’m so glad you did a tribute to Sean , I did comment to when you 2 started, to watch Sean as you would get laughs galore and hours of his work . His stand ups are so clever and hysterical . Me and grown up 3 lads did actually cried when he passed . We were sat in the garden familying as you do and Harry my son said Sean had passed , very sereal RIP Harry hill did a wonderful tribute to Sean also cheers guys
Sean was basically my dad. German friends, but you couldn't make him love Germany. Wish you success, but the minute you crow about it, or whine about something, you're a goner. And the minute Sean tore into Middlesbrook Primary students' acting, I had a new favourite comedian.
Love Nick Helm, he was super nervous the first time because he was worried how Susie would take it but apparently she really put him at ease and said it was perfectly fine with her.
Good clip. You are still watching early episodes of the show. As the shows goes on they give Rachel and Susie more air time. Since you do about 1 show a week, it will take months before you get to some of the best bits from the show. I can't wait to see your reaction when you learn what Susie has been looking into, or all about Rachel's skiing outfit.
You say Susie looks mortified every time he goes to dictionary corner , rumour has it she felt left out not getting the same attention as others and made it known she wanted jokes made about her.
Yeah apparently, when the programme started, Jimmy was very careful not to insult Susie so didn't make jokes about her. And then exactly what Blue says - She felt left out and asked to be included in the jokes 🙂
You guys should take a look at a clip from really early Countdown (not cats does countdown) where Suzi is really young and without a TV background. You will see just how sweet she is. She has come out of her shell a lot since then but she's been doing Countdown for a VERY long time now. She's knocking on the door of "National Treasure" status at this point. I have no doubt she will become Dame Suzi Dent.
Sean have some great moments on Catsdown, the natural breaks in Countdown give a great opportunity for some outrageous humour . Rachael and Susie are on the regular show shown pretty much 365 days a year and it's great to see them taking part . Susie ( MBE) has probably become the only celebrity lexecographer in the Country , perhaps the world .
Cats does Countdown is always so fun and entertaining. But I'm always most impressed watching Susie and Rachel be so naturally brilliant at what they do. Like "obviously 137 times 48 and then just subtract the 64"
It's brilliant to see you guys react to a more serious Jimmy (still with his humour interjected of course!) because with some of his edgier jokes he's often seen as rude and crude, but the 'home life' Jimmy if I can call it that, the regular Jimmy is someone I could spent a lot of time listening to as well. In case you (or anyone else) is interested, there is a fantastic interview here on YT of Jimmy by Diary of a CEO and it's just great to hear Jimmy chatting as himself and opening up. Anyway! Yep this was great, and nice to remember Sean who I sould try to find in regular chatty mode also, or an autobiogray or biography. Cheers guys!
Ooop, and then around 1 minute after I type that it gets to 'crude' Jimmy mode lol oh well, again, his other regular side is very fastcinating. In the words of Al Murray "you made me look stupid then!" except I did that to myself above lol
Sean was a "one of a kind" individual! NEWSFLASH Susie Dent has just been awarded an honour so she'll go to Buckingham Palace and be presented with the award by the King or another member of the Royal Family. Susie is the longest serving cast member on countdown she's been there since the first show. She's an MBE (Member of the Order of The British Empire).
If you're interested in British comedy - if you can get the humour - try "The Beirderbeck Affair" - series 1 of a weird dry humour series with no laughter track. It's very much a strange story about two teachers, an English teacher and a woodwork teacher. I'd be interested if you can even follow it, never mind perceived the humour in it.
Guys there's an 8 out of 10 cats clip around 3 to 4 minutes long called Jimmy ask Kate humble about the state of her garden see what you think I found it very funny
Bad luck for you Nick being at a wedding. Thankfully i've not had to go through that hell since 1997 when i was 17 when my cousin got married. Tedious registry office ceremony, thankfully at the evening do they did my favourite brand of beer, so i happily got drunk, but it was a Saturday so i would have anyway. Never again for going through the hell of sitting through a wedding
Apparently Susie Dent felt left out and asked to be included in the jokes. She's a good sport. Sean made other comedians laugh and there's no higher compliment than that.
I make derogatory remakes about EVERY politician as i consider their rhetoric, platitudes, spin doctors, and out and out lies plus the many scandals revealed borders on evil. I understand that the rigid system prevents them telling the people the truth as "the system" was forged to maintain the elitist rule and control the masses and that is both logical and human nature. So i do not make comments about individual political parties . As Churchill said "the system we have is the best of the rotten lot" which by definition means the system we have is rotten but not as rotten as say Communism or Socialism is. Communism and Socialism plus any revolution has always replaced one corrupt tribe with another . Hence i am non political and a very happy 76 years.
Sean was an excellent comedic mind. Very surreal and unique. Edit: it's nice to see Jimmy make a tribute to Sean all about himself. Sorry but where I've followed Carr's career, he is incredibly insecure and easily threatened. He always wants to be the host and makes a terrible guest. He may be funny but he's a complete control freak. Makes it hard to like him.
His guest appearances on QI are great.. And to be fair this wasn't a tribute to Sean, this was a promotional appearance for Jimmys book. As the title of the video states he's remembering Sean and how the whole thing made him feel.
Yeah, she once said she doesn't look like a typical Jew in a channel 4 interview. 😳🤦🏻♂️ ..But is happy to regularly weaponise antisemitism on twitter. She's disgusting.
As soon as he mentioned Rachel Riley my attention was completely on Jodi to see her facial expressions when Jimmy started his smut😂
I'll never forget "That's a tough wank"

No, a foot is a legend
Is she really 59? I'm 60, but now feel really old, certainly much older than Susie :(
@@Mark_BickertonI'm only 40 and I thought she was my age, and looking better than I do

@@irreverend_She’s been doing Countdown since before you were born. It started in 1982
You guys are ALSO very nice, intelligent people which makes you so easy to watch..... and appreciate.

It's been three years now but I still can't watch this about Sean without crying.
Sean Lock lives on for me , whenever I see him on repeats and his stand up he is still funny and relevant.
Jimmy is amazing on podcasts and during interviews. He's such a nice guy and has a lot of interesting things to say.
Sean is a legend!🏴

Great choice and great reaction guys!

Great video, Sean is very much loved here in UK
Thats British humour at it's best, I was crying with laughter.

Susie's character is best highlighted by all the Nick Helm songs.
Love Nick Helm, he was super nervous the first time because he was worried how Susie would take it but apparently she really put him at ease and said it was perfectly fine with her.

I enjoyed this, and something I've not seen before. Thanks for reacting to this

Susie Dent has just been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by the king. Announced this morning. For services to Lexicography.
Rest in peace Sean 🙏 still sadly missed
JODIE "that did not feel long at all"
That's what Susie said😮
Great episode................
"POT LOCALLY SOURCED", the bloody governors are going to be pondering! Hilarious...

Need to do some Sean lock solo stuff
‘It did not feel long at all’ is what Suzie said after she saw Jimmy live modelling . 😂
I just realised who Jodi looks like. Been bugging me for a while. It's Suzy Dent! Very beautiful, delicate and stylish

Sean absolutely broke Jon Richardson both times they played. It was a shining moment among many examples of his intelligence
When Sean Locke died that one hurt.
Just noticed very recently that you look exactly like Garry Kasparov!
{And so does your husband}
I hope that's a joke because I love chess

If he was a well balanced secure individual why would he want to work so hard and entertain, he’d be on a beach somewhere.

What a bizarre rant. This wasn't a tribute to Sean Lock, the subject just came up organically. Are you feeling ok?
@TheOrlandoTrustfull Well, you're a patronising prick. Can see why you like him 👍
@TheOrlandoTrustfull Ironically, my original reply was deleted. In short, I don't appreciate being patronised. Have a good day.
Remind me to never go and see Jimmy Carr at a live stand up - he’s vile.
Rachel's Jewish, of course she's going to support her own people, I don't understand the fuss.
Yeah, she once said she doesn't look like a typical Jew in a channel 4 interview. 😳🤦🏻♂️ ..But is happy to regularly weaponise antisemitism on twitter. She's disgusting.
Rachael has made many political statements. It's nothing new.
Jimmy used to be funny, now he's gone the pandering to incels route. Bashing trans people and crying about cancel culture.
Bashing trans who think they WOMEN good for him 100% like rest 97% World think insane
He was a dick when he started insulting people who were unjabbed. Now all the side effects are coming to light

Being against healthy children being sterilised and mutilated and wanting to protect woman's spaces and sports isn't "bashing trans" 🙄
