Thank you I want this to be the go to channel for people who want to get into this hobby and know nothing about cars maybe this channel will help these cars stay on the roads =)
@@What.its.like. Not sure if this is a car you would review, first gen NSX. I own a '91 and would be curious on what details you could fish out. Keep up the great work
I want to hit them all man.. but that has been a car on my radar I wanna do some more Hondas some vintage Hondas from the 60s and 70s for sure.. As well as Datsun
I always love seeing another Jewel Blue ‘61. Only a 1 yr color. It’s also fun to see peoples faces when they hear that the contrasting cove was NOT the popular option originally.
Yea only 855 in that color. 436 with unicolor coves, 419 with white coves. We are lucky enough to own a survivor with a rare option combo. Jewel blue w/unicolor coves, blue interior, powerglide AT and soft top delete. Going off the percentages of how many overall had those individually they figure less than 100 had that combo.
Awesome they are sweet little cars I love the fact that it has a trunk I always thought it was funny the stingray even though it shares the ducktail rear end does not have a truck I’m not entirely sure when they implemented the trunk again because early c3 doesn’t have a trunk either
This Corvette is stunning!!! I think that the 54 Corvette was the crown jewel of Harley Earl's career!!! This 61 is in excellent condition & whoever put in the 350 did a great job!!! Thanks for sharing another exciting video Jay!!! 👍👍🎃
He is a good friend of mine.. doing another one of his cars for the channel to night (I think it’s his favorite 1970 Plymouth GTX) I’m stoked so much information on that car.. it’s going to be the most in-depth view yet posting tonight
My favorite C1. Love the "ducktail" design. This one is outstanding. It's what Buzz & Todd drove except first episode was 1960 4th season 63. Never missed an episode. I was lucky enough to own 2 in my life.
As far as I know, this is the only case in auto history that the same rear design is shared in two generations. (Similarity is also seen on the early Corvair.) In another word, the rear design of the late C1 and the C2 is flawless.
Very nice one, great color also. That said my favorite is the 62 (still gen 1although considered "transitional") with 327 engine. Both are very nice though.
An uncle of ours had a 56 he bought new and frequently drove it at 110mph. Then, he veered off the road one day & rolled it. Our made him buy a Mercedes 1959 190D so she wouldn't lose him, lol.
Wow I’m glad he survived I wouldn’t want to wreck the vette because the steering wheel is right in chest not as bad as 54 vette but it’s right at chest level
That looked like a 350. The original would have been a 283. The Route 66 television show with Martin Milner (also in Adam-12), and George Maharis brought this car to TV and made a statement. The 327 engine replaced the 283 in 1962, and the 62 was the last year for the solid rear axle. I owned a 65 ragtop.
Corvette. I do remember the TV show “Route 66” that was popular in the 60s. George Maharis and Martin Milner were the stars and they drove a Corvette. Other than that I don’t care for the corvette. It seemed like everyone drove a Chevy car or truck on the show. 🤔
@@What.its.like. It was actually all three. Route 66 is a song (actually 2 songs 1 Get Your Kicks on Route 66 2 AN instrumental specially written as the theme for the TV show and 3 The tv show itself. ) Route 66 was a highway that extended from Chicago to Los Angeles. Much of it was replaced by Interstate 40 and other roads in the interstate system.
This car has a 350 v8 added after the fact.. someone said I should just show engine compartment and not talk about it so tried it that way for once I’ll talk about engine compartment
@@What.its.like. Some people will complain that the car should have kept its original engine but that's the owner's choice. If he wants to make changes to make the car more enjoyable to drive so be it.
Pretty Little Angel Eyes by Curtis Lee in 1959.
You got it it was on the chart 100 for 1961 =) made that one hard I guess next second gives song away =)
I'm another one who liked the dovetail design. I like the look of the last two years of the first generation Corvette.
Geez, what a incredible ride. Very solid review, love the details

Going to Thomasville GA in a few weeks I might take you up on that

Thank you for that insight I didn’t know that color was one year only

Saw one of these on Main St today.
Solid color though.
Thanks for reviewing this beautiful car.

The car I saw, definitely had a trunk, like the one featured here.
It was open and had a very large cooler box in it. 😂

This body style aged well too =)
I don't just dream about it I drive it my 61 and 63 vette ❤
Sweet =)
Hey , nice hair cut !
Lol thanks I shot this episode a couple weeks ago
Good review, Jay. Love those early Corvettes.
This one is easier getting into the 54 was hard these doors open wider

The thing that gets me is this has the duck tail and a trunk but the C2 don’t have a traditional trunk

Yeah the engine is 350 thank you so much for the added information =)
The coasters Charlie brown?
No good guess though it’s a 1961 billboard 100 song
Is the song, The Fly by Chubby Checker?
Good try but not that song it’s on the billboard 100 for 1961 clue
@@What.its.like. thanks for the clue. 👍
Towards the middle of the list I thought it was easy the next second would give the song away..
Someone got it it was pretty little angel eyes Curtis lee

Nice I wasn’t sure what the Route 66 was a song a show or a road out west =)

t was a sketchy at best coverage of the engine bay. What engine did it have a 283 or a 327? 4bl carburetor? Posi rear end?

Yeah he drives it a lot it’s one of his favorites =)
@Bill
283 was the original engine
You didnt point out what that big lever off the center console was. The thing that opens the fresh air vent.
Cowl vent thank you for pointing that out =)
@@What.its.like. I just thought it was important to mention since so many people have never been in a car old enough to have something like that.
Route 66?
No good try though
Tachometer is driven off the generator.
Awesome I didn’t know that thank you so much for sharing that information
was my first car
What an epic first car =)
I had one, but unfortunately traded it. White with gray coves, hard top, what I a mistake!!
What did you trade it for?
I think you made an error about 1961 price maybe I didn't hear correctly.
He gave today's inflated price as the purchase price.
