Power On Patty! You let him go and kept the Corvette. Being a Vette owner I applaud your intelligence. By coincidence, its twin appears in the 2017 coffee table book, 'Automotive Chronicle'. Corvettes are the only GM Dreamcar that lasted. Thank you Charles and Patty.😊
Charles Phoenix is one of the best…. “And I Know”, narrator of classic cars and Yesteryear artifacts that I have had the pleasure of watching. Please, do not stop!!!!!!
Sweet boneless watermelon!! My mind is blown! The color is absolutely spectacular, and so is every square inch of this rolling piece of art! And the owner is delightful. It's so wonderful when an owner keeps such a beautiful creation stock and doesn't try to modify the looks with the wrong wheels or pinstripes etc. And she accessorizes her wardrobe with the look of the period. Major bravo Patty! And Charles knocks it out of the park once again! These cars find you like lost little puppies that have no home. Just when I ask, "Can the Joy Ride series get any better" you prove IT DOES!
For some reason some women in particular don't relax back into the seat. It's not a stool or a bench, Patty. It has a back. You can lean back on it. Beautiful car and as usual Charles finds the angles to display it, like those low shots of the rear, 3/4 view at 2:38 and straight on at 2:45. You could argue for eliminating the big round trunk medallion, but it's perfectly placed. Same thing with the fake air scoop and the three big strakes on the side. All those things really make the design. Jewelry!
What an awesome car!!! And such a lovely owner! Love that color combination. And you're so right...There is nothing like sitting in a Corvette! I have had two Corvettes in my life, back in the 70s and they were such a blast to own! Thanks Charles!
Beautiful '61 Corvette, way back when I didn't like that color but over the years it has grown on me, now it looks Awesome!!! 👍👍 Talk about the "Way Back Machine" 👍👍
What a great looking car! I especially like the untouched 283 power plant. Smart to keep that engine "survivor class" condition. I love the fish shirt too! You should start a mid century clothing line. Thanks again for showing.
Such an elegant and distinctive color, in a sea of them painted black, white or "resale red." Bonus points for the cool MCM shopping center and its flagstone facades!
Fantastic radio announcer voice. I lol when you accentuate certain words. Like screaming a la Mario Cantone when he does his act. Very funny!! Great video's. Love vintage cars. Great job. Keep up the good work!!!!
That color is perfect. Definitely one of my fav. all time Corvettes. Guy don't know what he's missing. Bet he's eating his heart out right now, or in that donut shop. LOL!!!
I can say from experience, she probably got the better part of the marriage deal. THAT CAR!! And that she did all that work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a perfect match for her out there, if she isn't satisfied with being a fabulously independent woman!! Gorgeous. And the car too!!! That's right, Charles... NO ONE bumps that car! No one would dare! Oh that lil' spaceship!!
This is a beautiful Corvette for sure!!! Since you filmed this in Torrance I'm sure that you know that when it rains in LA it rains in Torrance!!! I Know 🤣🙃🙄😀😂😮
At 2:50 . . . the worst thing Chevrolet did to the Corvette recently was lose the iconic four round taillights. I don't know if I can ever forgive them for that. The new parallelogram tail lights are just not Corvettey at all. I do like the new mid-engine Corvette; it does have character and it will grow on people. But without the four round taillights I just can't get into it. This is a stupendous car. I'm glad that SHE has it.
What a beautiful car! It would be difficult not to smile 🙂 riding in that 61 Corvette. Made me smile just watching the Video 😂.😁. Has to be amazing to find such America Classic cars. What was the name of the color of the silver used on that 61 Corvette? So striking visually to look at.👀
Patty's as beautiful as the car. Even more so; a lovely lady who teaches auto body repair? Who - or what - could be more perfect than that? I actually have a friend who has one of these - a 1962 version, I think (essentially the same thing.) Haven't ridden in it yet, but I hope to some day. This generation of Vette is considered the best ever by some - has the older style front end, but the Stingray style back end. OK, this episode makes it official: Joyride is my favorite youtube car channel of all time. Better than Jay Leno's garage. Better than Mike Finnegan. As Charles would say, "An out of this world national treasure!"
0:28 I don’t know which is the focus of this video, the corvette or that hella lit Googie building (I WANT IT SOOO BAD) also I got a Cadillac ad with this video. Don't know why I'm saying this
Charles I never see you drive the cars with a manual. Do you want me to teach you to be more versatile? Stella Stevens says she drove a 1960 Corvette while she was a Paramount starlet.
What a car!
What a woman!
What a masterpiece of mid-century design!!
🤍🏁🤎

This car is not meant to be bumped. Hahaha love it! That concave passenger dashboard and grab bar are amazing!
Gorgeous two tone color scheme, Patty. Thanks for letting Charles behold the glory behind the wheel.

You did an amazing job on the restoration. What a perfectly beautiful car!
Nice choice of colors. It tones down the styling which is already eye-popping.
I think so too!
An excellent restoration on a legendary car.

We would never have known these details without you and Patty getting it all out in the open...
56/57 are my favourite years
Makes me want to go cruising down Route 66!
Such a gorgeous vehicle. Stunning in every way imaginable..Reminds me of the Bruce Springsteen video for I'm On Fire. Great job on the restoration💜

I think it was called Fawn Beige. My family had a 1961 Impala that was the same color.
Absolutely gorgeous. I know!

Not impressed with any Vette after 1967.
