We threw this game away came back from 10 pts down only to fail managing a 4pts lead in the last 4-5 min. Both drop goals Pollard failed to find touch and kicked the ball straight down the Irish guys throat and he drop goaled us twice
yeah 100% - it's the 1 problem with our WC wins, yes the amount of our Bok supporters doubles or triples, but the new supporters often don't know the history and most importantly the values of the game and are just there to scream obnoxiously about glory like f-ing Man Utd supporters

Ball kicked dead from kick off, wide pass at shin height to Kolbe who was clearly in the gap, dinky little chip straight into the arms of the full back to mark the ball.... We will not win if we persist with our 5 year old 2019 RWC game plan of our forwards winning penalties and Pollard kicking them. Not once did we look like scoring because our real playmaker went off with a HIA in the first couple of minutes.

I honestly felt like I'm watching a documentary in action. I'm a Saffa but I stood and admired the great rugby displayed, Frawley, the drop goal, that's something out of a late 90s heroic story, absolute clutch. I will never forget this game for the rest of my life. That moment showed me how those okes are just kids with dreams as well. Rugby is the winner in this Series.

We can say in every game there were dodgy calls mate...the kolbe try was so marginal and there wasnt a good angle...and then ireland scored 2 tries while boks were 14....yesterday ireland were lucky to not play with 14 for the rest of the game as that croc roll was nasty and i saw a red being given for that the other day...also the last lineout where dickson gave the ball to ireland when the irish 2 definitly dummied first and then because of that the boks jumps early and that lineout led to ireland getting the first drop...if kwagga kicked the ball instead of picking it up it wouldve been a try and if kolbe caight the vall also...ireland deserved the win on the night thanks to their good 1st half and boks just not showing up in 1st half...yes the series was a draw and i have seen so really nasty comments online from irish and boks...ireland win this time and i wish both teams had their full squads because yes ireland have 5 guys missing but boks also had really key players missing like wiese, willemse, lood, kitshoff, willie(to loose your best 15 who is key to your attack is massive in the 1st minute) and mostert...moerat wasnt even brought on because i dont think rassie trusted him due to his dicipline@@pilgrim3387

I missed the entire first half (stuck in traffic on the New Jersey shore) and I tuned in as the broadcaster was showing some 1st half highlights. I thought I had tuned into a MMF free for all! Jeez - players on both sides were really bloodied.
I don’t know why they persist with Ross Byrne ahead of him at OH. Yeah he can play FB and centre but an OH is what he is and the best one Leinster have maybe until Prendergast matures a little more though that could be this next season. Ross is a good player but a bit limited in the very top games.

What a brilliant test match! I think Ireland earned South Africa’s respect today (and I don’t think there’s much higher praise). To be honest I thought that New Zealand would be the only team to win a game like that with the ball in their own 22 with 90 seconds to go. Also, not many teams hold South Africa tryless. I think beating South at home is probably the hardest thing to do in world rugby. Thank you SA for a brilliant test series 🇮🇪

Congratulations to Ireland, they played amazing Rugby today. Contrary to what they say about us, we lose graciously, especially against oppositions that we respect.
We know SA really know their rugby. Sometimes when they ship a loss the saffa online brigade start on about the ref and the TMO etc. but they’ve been pretty gracious today. I think maybe because it was such an epic two games. As everyone said it’s a pity there wasn’t a third but from an Ireland point of view I think the players will be just glad of a rest at this point.

I was pleasantly surprised by Caolin Blade, and the front row replacements stepped up and gave Ireland some of its most solid scrums in the last quarter. So proud of this team 🇮🇪
The likes of blade, Jager, and the nick Twomey and izechuke the Ulster flanker and Tom O'Toole and Frawley and Osborne again and possibly Prendergast need to be giving a go in the November series coming up and show are bench players are capable of stepping up

This is why I love rugby and it's one of the best sports in the world. Most countries, be they win or lose nearly always respect the other team. The fans are included in this. In this insane divided world lessons can be learned from this sport.

Osborne was the difference. He must've collected 20 up and unders and totally disrupted our plan to use the box kicks for territory and getting 50% possession from it. That was absolutely the best performance under high ball I have ever seen. Remarkable.

We can take a huge amount from this tour. - Osborne is comfortable at international level - Conor Murray can still add value. Blade hugely surprising too. - We have decent squad depth - Doris is one hell of a player and will make a brilliant captain - We don't shit the bed when the going gets tough and we're hard to beat - English referees don't like us and SA is a horrible place to tour! (if you want to get a result that is. I'm sure it's a lovely country to visit)

Feared the worst coming into this series. No JGP, Keenan and Hansen. An emotional rollercoaster of a season, and a very long one, especially for the Leinster lads. We limped over the line in the 6 Nations. The lads looked shattered and ready for their holidays in the URC semis. But what a response. Respect for South Africa, it means a lot to get a result against the World Champions.

Most of the pundits wrote Ireland off for the second test match, but Ireland have not lost two consecutive matches under Farrell's tutelage. Even with a large amount of injured players, Ireland was able to scrape out a win.
If that ain't the best end to test match what is. What a game,blood everywhere, injuries everywhere. 1-1 test could ask for more but my god the guts to hit two drop goals from that distance is insane. The atmosphere deserved an amazing game and it got it.

I honestly felt like I'm watching a documentary in action. I'm a Saffa but I stood and admired the great rugby displayed, Frawley, the drop goal, that's something out of a late 90s heroic story, absolute clutch. I will never forget this game for the rest of my life.
That moment showed me how those okes are just kids with dreams as well.

We can say in every game there were dodgy calls mate...the kolbe try was so marginal and there wasnt a good angle...and then ireland scored 2 tries while boks were 14....yesterday ireland were lucky to not play with 14 for the rest of the game as that croc roll was nasty and i saw a red being given for that the other day...also the last lineout where dickson gave the ball to ireland when the irish 2 definitly dummied first and then because of that the boks jumps early and that lineout led to ireland getting the first drop...if kwagga kicked the ball instead of picking it up it wouldve been a try and if kolbe caight the vall also...ireland deserved the win on the night thanks to their good 1st half and boks just not showing up in 1st half...yes the series was a draw and i have seen so really nasty comments online from irish and boks...ireland win this time and i wish both teams had their full squads because yes ireland have 5 guys missing but boks also had really key players missing like wiese, willemse, lood, kitshoff, willie(to loose your best 15 who is key to your attack is massive in the 1st minute) and mostert...moerat wasnt even brought on because i dont think rassie trusted him due to his dicipline@@pilgrim3387

I missed the entire first half (stuck in traffic on the New Jersey shore) and I tuned in as the broadcaster was showing some 1st half highlights. I thought I had tuned into a MMF free for all! Jeez - players on both sides were really bloodied.

Frawley has now shown the Leinster coaches why he should be in the starting 15, preferably in the #10 jersey, when the upcoming URC season starts.
I don’t know why they persist with Ross Byrne ahead of him at OH. Yeah he can play FB and centre but an OH is what he is and the best one Leinster have maybe until Prendergast matures a little more though that could be this next season. Ross is a good player but a bit limited in the very top games.
He had some bad kicks but had the bravery to keep going . That's confidence and brave as .
He is full of confidence and that's what this team needs, I do like Crowley but he's not confident enough for number 10 just yet.

What a brilliant test match! I think Ireland earned South Africa’s respect today (and I don’t think there’s much higher praise). To be honest I thought that New Zealand would be the only team to win a game like that with the ball in their own 22 with 90 seconds to go. Also, not many teams hold South Africa tryless. I think beating South at home is probably the hardest thing to do in world rugby. Thank you SA for a brilliant test series 🇮🇪

We know SA really know their rugby. Sometimes when they ship a loss the saffa online brigade start on about the ref and the TMO etc. but they’ve been pretty gracious today. I think maybe because it was such an epic two games. As everyone said it’s a pity there wasn’t a third but from an Ireland point of view I think the players will be just glad of a rest at this point.

What a game. 2 heavyweight teams and it was a fantastic test match from both teams. Best two teams in the world and they have showed it over these two games.
I was pleasantly surprised by Caolin Blade, and the front row replacements stepped up and gave Ireland some of its most solid scrums in the last quarter. So proud of this team 🇮🇪
The likes of blade, Jager, and the nick Twomey and izechuke the Ulster flanker and Tom O'Toole and Frawley and Osborne again and possibly Prendergast need to be giving a go in the November series coming up and show are bench players are capable of stepping up

Great commentary Tim. I watched the game in an Irish bar in Rotterdam. I'm Irish and was outnumbered by 100 to one in the bar by SA supporters. What a way to watch the match. SA supporters great fun and receptive of the Irish guy in the middle of them. Great match. He must've collected 20 up and unders and totally disrupted our plan to use the box kicks for territory and getting 50% possession from it. That was absolutely the best performance under high ball I have ever seen. Remarkable.
If he keeps going like that, despite his couple of debut mistakes last week, he is going to be a terrific player for us in the next few years.

- Conor Murray can still add value. Blade hugely surprising too.
- We have decent squad depth
- Doris is one hell of a player and will make a brilliant captain
- We don't shit the bed when the going gets tough and we're hard to beat
- English referees don't like us and SA is a horrible place to tour! (if you want to get a result that is. I'm sure it's a lovely country to visit)

Just left the stadium. Ireland were the better team on the day. Boks took 30 minutes to leave the locker room. Great game, great atmosphere, just a wonderful time. Ireland is just has a fantastic side. Wiskers hair between the two team but really, Ireland came down here and took a scalp. Wow

Feared the worst coming into this series. No JGP, Keenan and Hansen. An emotional rollercoaster of a season, and a very long one, especially for the Leinster lads. We limped over the line in the 6 Nations. The lads looked shattered and ready for their holidays in the URC semis.
But what a response. Respect for South Africa, it means a lot to get a result against the World Champions.

Im not even disappointed because it was a proper battle. The Springboks gave faught bravery but Ireland was a better team on the day. Congratulations and well done to them.

Most of the pundits wrote Ireland off for the second test match, but Ireland have not lost two consecutive matches under Farrell's tutelage. Even with a large amount of injured players, Ireland was able to scrape out a win.
They did in the 2021 six nations. But haven’t since. 2 great teams.

1-1 test could ask for more but my god the guts to hit two drop goals from that distance is insane. The atmosphere deserved an amazing game and it got it.
