I took everything on the carriage apart and took it to the bench grinders wire wheel. I scrubbed the body with dish soap and a toothbrush. I pulled each screw out one at a time and took them to the wire wheel. Just a whole lotta scrubbing. The carriage had the most rust to deal with. The bodywork and paint/decals were already good, I polished out the paint with a dual action 3 inch buffing wheel and various compounds. Wiped it down with gun oil for a final shine.
