'Everybody knows the moon's made of cheese' and 'The Rocket' has got to be one of the most eerie and foreboding pieces of music ever made. The mystery and dread created by just a few simple notes is astounding.
00:20 I actually managed to get a reply from Julian when I asked if this segment was a whole piece, but he said unfortunately it wasn't. It was simply made for that part of the film. Shame as I could quite easily listen to it while drinking tea and eating biscuits, it's a lovely calming piece of music.😊

9:10 Narrator: Take your family on an outer space ride they’ll never forget with “Wallace & Gromit in A Grand Day Out.” Coming soon from BBC Video. Wallace: **after tasting the moon cheese** It’s like no cheese I’ve ever tasted.
Thank you so much for doing this - I spent ages trying to find any music from this (specifically the bit at 1:13 - love that scene!). Just out of interest, where did you gather the music from? Is GiggleCrunch a UA-cam channel, and if so, I don't suppose you have a link to it?

Superb piece of work! Just one thing missing, between Blastoff and Moon Picnic: As the moon comes into view through the rocket window on approach, there is a very quiet string chord, all on it's own (with the air of mystery to it, etc.). Otherwise, this seriously is fantastic! Julian Nott's work on Wallace & Gromit is just super!
That chord, I believe, was heard in the tracks _Everybody Knows The Moon's Made Of Cheese_ and _The Rocket_. It was just a small chord that neither GiggleCrunch, whom I've cited for gathering the music tracks from, nor Julian Nott himself put on the official _Wallace & Gromit_ music releases.
Very understandable not to include it - with it being on it's own, quiet and so forth. My ear as a musician + that I play everything from memory - picks more or less anything up that has a pitch, and it can almost be annoying sometimes - I instantly noticed it was "missing" here! Doesn't matter though, as said - it's on it's own - and you are right, a similar counterpart is found in 'Everybody Knows The Moon's Made of Cheese'. Superb work once again!
This is fantastic, first time ever hearing the tracks as standalone pieces after all these years. Was this ever released for sale on CD or something? I've never come across it
It's mentioned in the description, but basically this a "homemade rip" of the soundtrack using audio software. It's why you can hear sound effects in some of the tracks at times.
The United Kingdom BBC VHS was the same for the Warner Home Video VHS/DVD as well as the 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment through CBS/Fox Video VHS. The CBS/Fox Video DVD version is where the NTSC lower pitch came in and became the standard for all future American _Wallace & Gromit_ short releases save _A Matter of Loaf and Death._
I have a technical question, did you even out the the volume jumping around on Building The Rocket? I found in the original recordings it sounded a bit like the mic levels were going up and down the whole time and it's quite annoying, I couldn't tell if you ironed those out. Thanks so much for posting these!
Golly, it's been so long. But I may have done so when I was adjusting the speed/pitch so that it wouldn't be clipping and blowing out speakers/headphones.
