This song really brings home an important point about the story of GOT/ASOIAF, one which is easy to forget in the show and even easier to forget in the books (because of Martin's point-of-view style of writing), which is that when the Starks' catchy motto comes to pass, it simply won't matter who's on the Iron Throne, or who's on whose side in the war, or whether someone wins or loses, because what's coming from the North is so much worse than anything Westeros has ever faced, and in the face of such horror, all men and women are the same. Really, the only person who'll still be in a position to even CARE about the Iron Throne will be Dany, and only because she's safe across the sea.
Aldowyn As cool as that would be, I get the feeling that Martin is having Dany slowly realize that conquering Westeros is her brother's dream, not hers. I think there's a good chance she'll stay in Slaver's Bay for good, realizing that she's needed there. I still hope for a white walker / dragon showdown, though ;-)

I've been listening to this since it was released, and each time my ear picks up a bit more of the many sounds that make this song so great. Something I could be wrong about though, but the violin near the end sounds in such a way that really reminds me of the tune behind Raines of Castamere. Not exactly, but enough to almost be a sort of nod to it.

I like the way George R R Martin made it so there is a huge summer and a huge winter. It shows that they are from another realm and that their solar system would be different to ours..Like how the planet would be further from the sun for a longer time as well as closer. Interesting stuff really.

I like the way George R R Martin made it so there is a huge summer and a huge winter. It shows that they are from another realm and that their solar system would be different to ours..Like how the planet would be further from the sun for a longer time as well as closer. Interesting stuff really.
