I've seen Inferi live. They played at this pace for half an hour straight, no breaks. The lead guitarist even does backup vocals while playing at this pace. They're remarkably talented.
I'd like to see Behold the Bearer of Light or Quest for the Trinity, but I'd be pretty happy to see you react to any of their work
🤘😍🤘
Those Who from the Heavens Came I think is another great song to show Inferi overall. It has everything. It has basically everything the guy asked for, great breaks and slower paced melodies... everything, I fucking love that song.
One of the best bands in the tech death game. Good shit
Hey, thanks!
@@INFERIOfficial Love you guys.
this song is beyond epic, and an incredible live band. dat bass tone, dat shred
😘

This is Beyond TECH! You dont get to breathe hahaha. One of the greatest metal tracks an albums ever made, easily. That being said it takes a lot more than a single listen to absorb the coherence of the musical story. Inferi top tech band of all time.
Great to see this band get more coverage, they certainly deserve it! I appreciate your analysis and actually agree with the points that you thought you’d take flack for. However, this isn’t Opeth, this is very high level tech death and it’s typically relentless by nature. In this genre you’re simply not going to be given much space to breathe so any 4 or 8 count breaks that may exist are precious. Looks like Behold the Bearer of Light is the most reacted to single they have.
That one is a little less relentless. haha
I won't blast you for your critique, but I have to be honest I am pretty blown away by it. This song is an absolute masterpiece. Ten minutes of build up and storytelling and incredible breakdowns and conclusions. There doesn't always need to be slower parts. Life is hectic sometimes, especially in war and battle, and it can be a roller coaster that you just can't get off of. This song does not let you take a break because you're not supposed to be able to. The transitions are out of this world. The musicianship and technical skill is flawless. There is more content in this one song than in twenty Taylor Swift albums. Really disappointed by this reaction video but hey everyone's opinion is different. I will say though, I do agree with you that the bass solo could be louder.
Well said mate well said
"There's always something interesting to say about everything you guys have recommended me - except Primus"
That made me literally LOL
Promethean Kings will always be my favorite by them.
This song is the best Manifesto of what Death metal has grown to be. Speed and complexity do not overweigh musicality and ideas behind the melody. Sheer masculinity, heavy and groovy riffs, epic heroism of solos which are literally infinite piercing through the whole piece, - this is metal at its best, with outstanding composer’s vision and musicians’ skills. It was never too long or repetitive for me. It’s a band that has one of the most atmospheric and immersive compositions within the genre. And when you get it you really wanna stay inside as long as possible. I really don’t mind this aesthetic which sounds a bit naive in lyrics or on album covers - warriors fighting all kinds of chthonic entities, etc - it’s an archetype which any man is ready to identify oneself with. And if you wanna continue with Inferi songs - go with Behold the Bearer of Light.
You rule, Nikita!
Great hearing you react to Inferi, they're one of my favorite bands actually! While they are typically a vocal band, they actually released an all-instrumental version of their most recent album. If you ever wanted to check out more by them, I'd recommend "Smolder in the Ash", either the vocal version or the instrumental version. I'd be curious to see how you react to some of the time feel stuff in there.
😍
Such a great band, malcolm Pugh is a musical genius when it comes to metal and his label is super rad. I've seen them live once and they sound spot on
Note, that very last part bevore the video stopped is the beginning of "Cursed Unholy", on this album probably the second best song to this. On third I'd place "A new breed of Savior", then on fourth "Sentenced to eternal life" (This song seems to explain the whole concept of the album, a warrior that's forced to live forever and seeks the challenge of battle to finally end his life) and then all the other songs. Great analysis as well, just as allways. :)
I really like that riff too, that staccato style line right after the melodic line when you say 'i really like that riff" very nice. And the drum line at rhe end is very nice too kind of wish wouldve continued on
Famous Last Words - The Show Must Go On
This version is a reworked re-recorded version from their second album, The End of an Era. As much as I looooove the original album, I seriously think the Rebirth version is superior, a rare instance of such a phenomenon. Saw Inferi live and would see them again in a heartbeat! So good and super nice dudes!!
But yeah they don't call Malcolm Pugh the CEO of Tech death for no reason. Man is a legend and him and the other guitarist Mike Lowe work together so well
😘😘😘
Good song but my favorite album of theirs is the Path of Apotheosis. This is also a good album. Forged in Phlegathon is my favorite from this album.
The path is a top 10 all time metal album.
I do remember Malcolm the lead guitarist and writer for band saying that back in his early days when writing their music, they were all about shred and nothing else. Their newer stuff has nice breaks and downtimes.
Inferi just get's better with each album, and there's two more after this one!
I'm exited for the New album. Really hyped.
Yes! You're the second streamer I know to have reacted to this song.
Malcolm Pugh and Mike Low are two of the most talented guitarist I've ever heard. What a time to be alive.
I’m going to have to revisit this one - there were bits and pieces that I really enjoyed but it kinda feels one note in terms of pacing/direction (for me). Towards the end they briefly changed it up and that might have been my favorite portion of the song! Dropping a few recs here - I’ll bump Moontooth again, love those guys and I’d love to see you break down some of their music. Buuut you did ask for more some more out their suggestions so: Gunship - Dark All Day (Synthwave with some fun sax mixed in). Model Decoy - The Sound & the Fury (band does songs about pop culture and superheroes WELL, this ones about Deadpool.) Fair to Midland - literally anything you want. Saved the best for last: Pinback, or anything Rob Crowe has touched. I personally really dig Barnes, even if you don’t react to it treat yourself to some of their tunes!
Please, react to GOROD - ELEMENTS AND SPIRIT! They are amazing, you are gonna enjoy their melody skills!
This is Beyond TECH! You dont get to breathe hahaha. One of the greatest metal tracks an albums ever made, easily. That being said it takes a lot more than a single listen to absorb the coherence of the musical story.
I'm always on the lookout for some good new stuff, that is the main reason I keep coming back to your videos, a lot of these bands I've never heard of. Anyway, I would like to suggest one band too, I would be surprised if no-one did it before me: Be'lakor. For example their "Countless Skies" song, but basically anything is good from them. Keep up the good work, man!
The genre in general is relentless by nature which is what people love it for.
Speaking of Relentless......you should react to Relentless Mutation by Archspire (or anything off that album)!
Behold the Bearer of light would be a great Inferi track to react to as well.
somewhat related to Inferi as the share the same vocalist now, check out Equipoise. if you love a bass sound way uo in the mix, you'll love them.
Never clicked on a vid so fast... and also got my sub ;p
You should listen to Destroyer, I think that's a better song :) or the Promethean kings! Or behold the bearer of light!
I know you've already done a Wintersun song, but would you do their song TIME? :)
Owane - Born in Space for instrumental week
That week is done we gotta wait for a jazz week of some sort
I would like to hear any song you ve made Bryan
lmfao except primus XD i feel that though. I love technical stuff and all but primus is, well i don't enjoy primus XD glad I'm not the only one.
Hey! I've just found your channel today due to your reaction to Ghostlight 2019. I was wondering if you could react to either Blue Devils 2017 (metamorph) or Santa Clara Vanguard 2018 (Babylon). Fellow trumpet player here, and I know you'll love the trumpet screamers as much as I did :))
You should do Accursed by Vale of Pnath!
Dude fuck yeah I love inferi
Would love to hear your take on love exchange failure by white ward, great mix of dark jazz and black metal and massively overlooked, also March of the dead by pagan altar, classic old school doom at its best with great performances, my favourite solo and criminally underlooked, should have been as big as sabbath imo
Needs more bASS! - I actually agree with you regarding the 'breathing points' of the song. When they came they were good, but for me were too sparse.
ps: Agent Fresco - See Hell (live on KEXP)
I'm kind of intrigued but this was not a good start for me.. gonna go listen to the new Caligula's Horse song again now, thanks XD
I recommend checking out The Dreaded Mystic Abyss by Shadow of Intent. 10 and a half minutes long instrumental and the playing is insane.
I definitely agree! It's awesome.
Do UnexpecT next!
Yeah it keeps going and going like powermetal in a weird way.
I would like to see your reaction to yukiko-san by the band midori, its a japense jazz/punk/noise-rock band. They are a quite interesting ensemble consisting of a double bass, drums, e-guitar, e-piano and vocals (female).
Nice, melodic-ish tech death, and a pretty decent pick from this band too, especially considering the instrumental theme. I do however share some of the same issues with this band in general that you have with this track, which is a quite common complaint about tech death. You often end up with parts that is meant to show off skills rather than enhance the song. It can feel disjointed or too much etc... I see you listened to Involuntary Doppeltgänger by Archspire. I think they do it much better, and for the "too much" stuff, I think you reacted a bit to them changing the pace a bit during that song, but that is to give you a break. Their latest album is way better at this IMO. They even got a track that is supposedly at like 400bpm (A.U.M.), but it still gets into the calm territory. IMO, the better songs on that album is Drone Corpse Aviator (gotta watch the vid too then), Golden Mouth of Rain and Bleed the Future. :)
Also, yes, what's the point of the bass solo when it's mixed so far in the background. hehe... quite some nice bass solos in tech death in general though
I would love to see you react to Sleep Tokens, Higher or The Offering
But however some people actually dig music that never takes a break. Me personally I give all music a chance but I love fusion metal and fusion jazz and classical composers. Alot of today's music throws a crap ton in a short space I believe because it's mostly single releases instead of albums. Where with albums a band has more time to stretch out the story thus not overdoing it in one song. But hey that's just my personal opinion.
Daughters- feisty snakewoman or cheers, pricks or ocean song or guest house
Great review sir..you should also react to "Inanimate Existence- The Rune Of Destruction"techdeath/catchy and melodic.available music video or mp3 mode.thank you.more reviews keep it up!.
Primus was unique for sure. I could dig some basslines but that's about it.
Check out Heavy Yoke by Azusa, some good bass work in it.
This song: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA(quick breath in)AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
Obviously a lot of skill went into this, but the constant high tempo gets a little wearying after a while. Kind of fits the theme though I suppose, constant battle with no time to stop and rest.
You guys better recomend him THE HUMAN ABSTRACT - ANTABELLUM. its probably good for ARRANGEMENT aspect.. and perfectly fit for this channel..
Well have to wait for a return week.
I'm a huge THA fan and adore all of their work and even mentioned Antebellum in the Faust video. It's the best metal song that I've ever heard that follows the compositional "rules" of a sonnet. I would like to do a sort of highlight week though, maybe show off 5 of my favorite songs or something like that.
Dream Theater - The Glass Prison
I would most heartily recommend Rings of Saturn - Pustules (feat. Charles Caswell):
ua-cam.com/video/ilS3tJRslus/v-deo.html
You should check out Andy Gillion - Skyless
Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize
Pretty nice reaction, but I don’t think this song is representative of the band. They are still a brutal assault on the ears, but I think Within the Dead Horizons or The War Machine Embodiment is a better representative song of the band.
Slechtvalk - Nemesis
Infant Annihilator - blasphemian
lol
le gars y baille pendant un mega solo.. >:(
Too much shred loses the groove! Good analysis and lol at the Primus line 😂😂
Between the Buried and Me - Lay your ghosts to rest, you would love that track
Behold the bearer of light is way more of a cohesive song as a whole and not as much of a tangent but it’s also newer material, really love everything they do but revenant was a masterpiece
