I think the looks are way too understated for what these provide. I would love to see the same exact look except with a gloss white finish while keeping the front black and copper. They do need to figure out a way to separate these speakers from the Reference line, as the differences are much bigger then people can expect while the price isn’t as big in difference. Maybe even rename the entire RP line altogether. But design. Make it standout from the other lines of speakers. I love the 8000s, they’re incredible speakers.

Andrew, here we are two years later and even with the new mark 2 being a more refined speaker, in my opinion, buying a pair of these today at $999, they are a great bargain or to quote you, “an insane value”, for music or home theater. This was another one of your many outstanding reviews.

I've had the 6000f's about a month and toe in is important to these speakers. Bass can be crazy boomy with some source material, almost unbearable at times, just have to turn the bass down and pull away from the the wall more. Very great value, incredible sound at low volumes and huge sound at high. Never maxed out but I'd never push it that loud for fear of the room collapsing!! I'd recommend these to anyone. Had the RP 600m's and loved them, however, just not enough mid bass for me.

For stereo listening, I have a pair of RP-280F which is the prior generation of the RP-8000F; the 8000s have vented tweeters that help to turn the highs less harsh but the 280s sound as beautiful but require more work in the tow-in as you cannot put them directly towards you or you pay the price of harsh highs. I dare to say the 8000s and the 280s sound as good as many high end speakers for a fraction of the price; the music is so alive and the sound image (soundstage) is clearly 3D with good recordings; the sepakers dissappear and you just "see" the musicians in your listening room; they are THAT GOOD.

what should Klipsch do to elevate these speakers- simple, add a separate mid range driver. That way, the dual 8's could be used for more dedicated bass. Edit- since purchasing a pair of the 8000's, I'm amazed at the low end these produce. I saw "dual 8" woofers" and thought, bass will be light/midrange muddied. But, to my surprise, not so. At the extreme upper limit of the woofers, they get shy, but not severely. And kick? Lol! You said it, Andrew- like a Clydesdale! Paired with my vintage Sony STR-V5, throwing full bass and loudness at them, they will rattle windows 2 floors away in my house. I'm used to 3 way, 12" woofer speakers, and these 8000's more than hold their own against them. Very impressed is an understatement. Great review, Andrew! 👍🏼

Side dish - I make an apple, sausage stuffing. It's basically a meal on its own, but I'm a big fan of anything with gravy on it. I'm trying a brussel sprout, dried cranberry, goat cheese salad today to give a little color to the meal without doing the green bean thing.
I've owned a ton of multi-thousand dollar speakers, and since I no longer sit in my perfectly positioned chair, playing my freshly vacuumed record on a multi-thousand dollar turntable, smoking a cigar, and drinking scotch; I'm more about value now. I don't miss the million-dollar setups, which is good, I can't afford them anymore anyhow. I wouldn't change anything on these if it would increase the price. Based on your review, these are already the best bang for the buck and each additional dollar is probably past the starting point of diminishing returns. A nicer finish might be nice, but I'd just be thrilled at the quality sound-wise at under $1k
Great review as always! Rational analysis!

People are very biased here in Europe about... European and British brands. Had to choose between the Dalis and BWs of this world, the Focals and the Triangles... Had a tour of showrooms with my girlfriend. Meh. The moment we heard these, we both looked at each other and knew that 2 weeks later these would be in our living room without a doubt. Clean, clean sound.
So those of you doubting Klipsch on this series and the 8000s in particular... just listen to them in a 2.0 setup. Impecable. Absolutely impecable.
The audiophile community is one of the most aggressive and pretentious out there, so you will have a hard time believing what is pleasing to the ear and heart.
As a side note, I have these with an Advance Paris xi75 and the wtx streampro and I don't see myself needing more for a very long time. The 8000s are more refined in sound than you were wrongly directed to believe. Massive quality for a fraction of a price. Up to you if you want to enter the audiophile placebo hearing game or not.
Strongly recommend these. If you guys have any desires, I can record a video and post it in this configuration. I know you can't capture sound properly, but I am sure there are some of us who can hear subtle nuances even through compressed files.

Used to sell audio in the 90's and sold a ton of Klipsch ... A/B them against any speaker at the time without switching volume would seal the deal. Those horns sing and their Sensitivity made them twice as loud as anything else compared. Their big towers such as these I feel are better suited to a pretty large room.

    Andrew,
Great review! About a year ago I started looking for replacements for my Snell Acoustics XA and Dahlquist dq-10’s and unplanned trip to Best Buy happened me upon their “HIFI Room” where I encountered the Klipsch rp 8000f I wasn’t really pleased with the wood grain veneer and was about to walk out when the salesman walked in and said let me get those turned on for you. What I was hearing truly caught me off guard the positioning and setup was absurd but I keep thinking I think these could be really good! Went home did a bit if research and found out Klipsch builds these in piano black. I reached out to Safe and Sound and thought let’s give this a go. When they arrived the finish is very pleasing and much more audiophile stature. I have many different power sources but ultimately paired them with a NAD C388 As you said positioning is everything with these and the imaging is fantastic. The value for money aspect has me believing that these are the best thing to happen to me in this lousy Year 2020.

Bread and I have made it 40 years now. I have the 280FA, 280F, 450C, 550, 600, and twin 150 subs with a Marantz SR8015 (7.2.4) and I did not have to rewire my house! I love my system as does my wife (the important critic). It took time to dial in but I go to shows just to hear how good my system sounds in comparison. My sister's system which I installed is Triton reference, with 1000 side and 680's on top with their monster sub and the Macintosh pre and amps (5.3.4). It is more refined (Classical and organ) but for pure joy I take mine. As an addition: Replace the iron coils with air (Gets rid of the slur), go to the $20 caps (cleans up 4%) and get rid of the steel in the connects (Copper to copper and gets one to that last 2%). Yes, I am a geek.

When I heard these I was impressed with the changes Klipsch had made to the tweeter. My listening wasn't very long so needless to say I'm still hesitant to say you could listen to hours without fatigue. When I bought my last setup I ultimately chose Dynaudio Focus 260s (no longer in production) because they just sound amazing with great midrange and for my ear I get zero fatigue out of listening to them. They're fantastic on music and pretty good on movies. However they were pretty pricey even on clearance. The 8000 series is something I can recommend to friends due to the changes they've made with the caveat that they may still be a touch bright over a long listening session. Previously I just couldn't recommend Klipsch reference and below line for anything other than movies and even then I was hesitant.
These really do seem like the best value for money in speakers right now.

Best to use the same manufacturer for front left and right floor standing speakers with the center channel. For example, using a Klipsch Rp-504C center channel with the Klipsch RP-8000F floor standing speakers, the sound will be fluid, same drivers, same tweeter. Watching movies, the sweeps from left to right or right to left during action scenes or an actor on screen talking and moving from the left or right channel to the center channel and back to the left or right channel, you will hear a smooth transition. If you use 2 or 3 different speaker MFR. types, the sound with be noticeable and drawn a lot of unwanted attention from the audience listening and watching the movie!

Just picked them up for $649. For music these are very good.. not great. if you are into mind altering open soundstage then you might want to look elsewhere. As a side note my friend has a emotiva amp running these and the soundstage is better. May have to do with his room but i thinks these just respond well to clean power.
For tv and movies the 8000f's are on another level. Dialogue is crystal clear and you just hear intricate details that other speakers completely miss. True theater experience. I mean just watching a football game is much better with the 8000f's which seems odd but very true. Those damn horns are too good.
I think the best feature the 8000f's whether its movies or music is their ability to sound so good at lower volumes. You don't have to crank these to get full bodied sound.

Hi Andrew, thanks for making this video it was quite enjoyable, and thanks for answering all the comments below in such a timely manor. I bought these speakers with a Klipsch 404 center about 6 months ago, and picked up the RP600M's for the rears about 2 months later and enjoy listening to them with all kinds of music and movies. I have seen the reviews mentioned below showing the gap at the crossover at about 1750hz. What I did was go into the equalizer in my receiver (Yamaha RX V485) and kicked up the HZ 2 clicks at the 1000hz level which I believe goes half way up to the next adjustment of 2500hz to cover the 1750hz drop down point. I also clicked up the 400hz 1 notch to blend it out. Now when switching the equalizer from off to on with vocals and instruments playing it seems to give it all a much smother more balanced sound. Not that one sound is better but switching it on puts a smile on my face, and I didn't have to pay a penny for the change. I'm not saying this does the same as changing the crossovers, adding a midrange or putting in more higher end components which would have drastically increased the price but you may give it a try and see what you think.

Pick up a pair of these about 3 months ago to replace a set of Bose Acoustimass 5 series 2. Andrew, you are so correct about the placement of these speakers. I have them in a finished basement and the left speaker is closer to a wall that is to the left of it and I heard more base coming from the left. I moved everything to the right about four feet and it improved. It’s not as bad at moderate volume. It really evens out when the volume is at 25%. Still great speakers. If I completely rearrange the basement I could fix the problem. It was your review that sparked my interest in these speakers. Thanks!
