One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that these speakers don't disappear. You can localize the tweeter especially when something sharp plays. If enough people ask for the RF7 III, I will reach out to Klipsch, it would help if you can send them an email too. Don't forget to like and subscribe.
Please review the RF7 III. The 8000F and the RF7's were on my shortlist. In the end I went with their heritage line and got some Cornwalls. Definitely not a bright sounding speaker, but with amazing dynamics.
Thomas, You really, really helped me pick the right speakers for my setup. I watch a lot of audio review channels, and you are one of the best! It's obvious when you're excited about a speaker, and you are so good at articulately describing your experience so that I feel that I have just demoed them myself. I ended up buying the RP8000F towers, the 504c center, RP500 SA atmos speakers, a couple of Polk 265 RT in walls and an SVS PB-3000 subwoofer for a 5.1.2. I'm using the Denon X3700H and an Emotiva amp to help drive these bad boys. Eventually I will pump this thing up to a 7.1.4, but my only hurdle is that one of the surrounds will be in a wall with a gas fireplace below it. The sheetrock gets darn right hot, and I'm concerned that the heat will ruin the speakers. What do you think about putting an in wall speaker in a wall that has a gas fireplace in it?
Thank you for making a direct comparison between these and the LSiM, as it was a subject that had crossed my mind. My LSiM 5.0 set up sounds terrific with a Denon x7200. But the Klipsch RP sound amazing in a demo room. With no way to pair them for a side-by-side, I rely on word of mouth. Your vids provide authentic, no frills assessments that have enough credibility for my peace of mind.
Thomas, congratulations on another entertaining review, particularly one that a wide range of people can relate to. I've owned both those since they first came out and concur with your experience with each, however, I usually listen to them in a surround setup, but have spent a lot of time pairing them with several amps in stereo application. What I conclude is that the RP series are fundamentally, sound reinforcement speakers, intended to deliver clean dynamics, i.e. fast transition in dB as one would appreciate in an action movie sound effects. When I have used them strictly in stereo, they lack frequency response in the mid band, particularly when played at moderate levels. When belting out sound, they tend to come into better balance through the frequency band (high to low). When playing live music recordings, they can shine nicely over more expensive gear, but they really come together when used in a full 7 or 5 channel setup. The Klipsch center brings out all the missing vocals from the towers or bookshelf types. Then you get true instrument separation with the singer in the middle as in a real live venue. I also own the previous model RF towers with the newest RF center. Although these components are a good bit better than the RP series, the same thing tends to be true. When paired with their center channel, absolutely glorious. Without, as you say, meh. It is simply that the 6.5" and 8" woofers have a significant dB drop off from about 800hz and up, so those speakers rely on the wave guide tweeter (i.e. horn) to pick up the slack. Problem is that those horns only dip down to about 2Khz, thus leaving a void in part of the vocal range. Some think the RP series is warm, but it only seems that way from lack of lower vocal range. The center channel corrects most of this shortcoming. Still, they are a lot of fun, especially for the budget pricing. Won't be using any of my RP gear to replace stereo listening of my Cornwall 3s any time soon though. Cheers Thomas!
Thanks Taz for the clarification. Man I wish I would have spoken to you before I made the review. If I ask for the RF7III, I wonder if I should also ask for the center...
I respect you as a reviewer because you are not snobbish towards Polk Audio LSiM. Many audiophiles dismiss them regardless of price. But these speakers go toe to toe with many others. As an all rounder, and at the current price, it's impossible to beat. You get a lot of speaker for very little $$. And that is a value that you may not beat in a lifetime. Sure you can spend a lot more and get a better speaker but value wise,. this beats everything out there. I paid $1050 for my pair from Adorama, shipped. I will never part with my pair even though i have other more 'higher' end speakers and brands audiophiles would much rather pay attention too. I am keeping these till the drivers rot.
Went from the MA bronze 1 to the Klipsch RP-160M (I'm 15 so couldn't afford the RP600(they cost almost 900 USD here in Norway.) paired with a Hegel HD11 and NAD D3045. And to be honest, I totally agree that the RP line Klipsch's are really fun listening to. You're one of the reasons I decided to buy the RP-160M. They're not sharp at all (a lot of people complain about Klipsch speakers being sharp) They're incredibly loud, Still maintain their "fullness" and doesn't get tinny/or sharp when you turn them up. Yet to break them in so can't judge them, wish they went a little lower (even though I've got a SVS PB-1000). But their bass is quite impressive down to 40 Hz. Keep up your work man, really enjoy your content. Cheers from Norway :)
I have my 8000 RF connected to Audio quest 14 gauge pure copper wire no bananas and Sydney's Rca connectors on a Bie wired fashion Awesome sound clarity and datails
I have the smaller ones here in this video with an Onkyo receiver, along with a Polk Audio 10 for the lows. And blown away at how good they sound. I started small, i see so many love/hate reviews on Klipsh speakers. I guess this is one of thoses brands its either you like them or you hate them. Overall, they sound good. They can be a little harsh on the high end, but toe them in a little bit helps with that.
Yes, I have had klipsch for years starting 1974... don't forget to stack them up. Then turn the volume up and she will join you dancing all night long! Thanks for posting.
Great channel and a great review! I'm happy I found you. I own the Klipsch RP-280F that came out before the RP800F and they are exactly what you said in the review. That's pretty impressive, you now got a new subscriber. Keep it up!
Hi Thomas! Greetings from New Zealand! Just ordered a pair of RP-8000f's a hour ago, after watching your video. Been considering it for a while, but your wife reaction, convinced me its the way to go! :) Crossing fingers they work well with my 12-watt tube amp!
Haha..but don't you guys pay crazy shipping charges at NZ? I was driving the klipsch with a 200w class D amp so I really hope the 12w tube amp can do it! Remember to give it a lot of time to break in.
Comparing the 8000f vs the RF7iii vs the Polk lsim 707 would be a crazy good comparison It’ll let you see how the klipsch sound improves within their line and how they compare to the Polk lsim which was in the same price bracket.
@perl man The Polk LSIM 707's are very good. But I think the RF 7 III's are absolutely astonishing!!! I'll be asking Klipsch to send Thomas a pair for review, meanwhile over the past months I've posted a few videos demonstrating the RF 7 III's performance. If you like, please check them out. Cheers. ua-cam.com/video/M7_zMnd0p9I/v-deo.html
@perl man Agreed. I'd say it all depends on personal preferences and budget😏. But like you, I did a lot of research before settling on the RF 7III's. If you click on the image on the top left it should take you to the channel where I have a few videos of the RF 7III's performing in my space. Enjoy.
You are a very authentic reviewer. Most reviewers would just be saying Klipsch walks on water, but you point out the "brightness" which a lot of people won't like in a speaker. And your favourite speaker is Polk which is a favourite of the top reviewers I notice, although it is a bit of an obscure brand. And you *own* Polk speakers, not just review them for a couple of days.
The smile on your face says all we need to know. Try them with tube gear if you haven't already. My upgraded Klipsch Forte II with my Primaluna Dialogue Premium gear is outstanding. Makes me smile just like you. Thanks for the review as always
Thanks again Thomas. I I’ll be replacing some old JBL’s that have EV horns in them. With the Klipsh 8000 F’s was just waiting to see what your take on them was. As always you seem to have come up with the best and most definitive last words on the subject! I hope I have a good enough front end to do them justice in my McIntosh
Well if you have some old JBL horns, I don't think a 8000F will be an upgrade for you. For me, an upgrade is 2 levels up at least. These are still consider budget line.
Been looking at this for some time. Just sold my 21 yr old PSB Stratus Silver Floorstanding and Klipsch pops in my mind everytime I go to London Drugs electronics department. Thanks for the review
I almost LIVE at London drugs! I am literally on a first name basis with staff! I wanted to say they have bent over backwards for me with honoring expired sales pricing, most recently they honored the sale of the SPL100 sub at $599 vs $799 on 2 separate occasions. They also matched The Bricks pricing on a Klipsch R52C center channel for my wife! SUCH GREAT SERVICE Lastly, having seen the Klipsch RP504C on sale somewhere for $750 (reg $999) I made EVERY effort to have someone honor that and that wasn't happening... knowing that Visions sells select RP speakers I pushed & they agreed to sell it at $750+tax!!! Long and short, KLIPSCH is fantastic, way out performs its price point and deals pop up often!!! Last thing... when I excitedly arrived home with the RP260F'S (the predisessor to the RP6000) I wanted to hear them so bad that I just quickly hooked them to our center channel in our small theater on our main floor. I was giddy like a kid seeing a new bike in the living room! Out of a large showroom and in a more easily filled room these BLEW my mind! Clear/Bright & PUNCHY!!! AMAZINGLY FULL SOUND GOOD LUCK
I absolutely love my RP8000F! Glad you like them too. They really do make music fun and enjoyable to listen to! Without any of that old shouty/fatiguing Klipsch sound, that many still think of when they hear about Klipsch. Ps My goal for getting new speakers was to find something smaller and more design friendly than my old ones, but ending up buying these that are even larger because they sound so well! Haha!
Thomas & Stereo I have owned Reference 3 A, B&W and Devore speakers. I am seriously thinking about buying a pair of Klipsch (the price is right!), but they seem to have a lot of cheap parts on them (like the steel binding posts), so Im checking with all my dealers now to see if they know anyone who can upgrade the 600ms with new binding posts (WBT) and crossovers and internal wire. (Dueland)
@@estebannemo1957 Well, they have to to reach a certain price point. There are 2 ways to look at it. For me, I find it amazing that they can deliver such an amazing sound with cheap components. Anyone can build a fancy speaker / system when money is no object. We can always improve on something but there is a reason why a speaker is at a certain price point. Usually, from what I gathered, to run a successful business, the cost of the speaker is about 15% of the selling price else the company will go out of business. Why? If you ever ran a business, you will understand all the hidden cost behind. Now, if you want something of more value, then you will have to look at companies that sell direct to customers perhaps. Here is a link to a comment from a manufacturer that will explain it better. A very good read. www.avsforum.com/forum/89-speakers/1348949-philharmonic-audio-dennis-murphy-279.html#post57933376
I've had both the 8000f and 600m as well. I noticed the same thing about the 8000f not disappearing into the room as much as I would've liked. The 600m disappeared much more. I was very happy with the 8000f except for that part, I'm having to decide on what's more important to me between the disappearance of the 600m and the mids/bass of the 8000f.
@@hughd7636 Hey Hugh, yes all the music played through the 600m imaged better, at no time can I tell the music is coming from a speaker, it's all coming from the background/air. I could move all around the room and maintain that so it has very big sweet spot. Where as with the 8000f, unless I was sitting dead center I could notice much more the music was coming from the left/right speaker.
I'm between these two. My main problem is the room. It's big but it's an apartment. I'll be listening to mid level volume music. The 8000 looks huge. Wich is better at low volume? the 8000 or the 600m plus a subwoofer?
Budget speakers nowadays aren't made in house but are built off-country to specifications with lower labor costs. Snobs might consider these to be more ephemeral than the in-house built ones.
Cambridge CXA81 with RP8000F sound so lound and clear! I really like my audio system now, and its sounds " bright " , i like it better then the really expensive audio that are to "correct" sounding..
Thanks for the video review of one of my favorite brands Thomas. It would be cool to hear some Klipsch on some $10K front end for sure! I have never warmed to the Spun Copper Cerametallic™ Woofers since their inception, for my ears it killied the dynamic mid bass. What would be cool to see you review is the KLIPSCHORN AK6...? The other side of Klipsch is their pro line cinema speaker that are very cool.
Hey great review. I was thinking to have the R8000F with RP600M as surrounds as bookshelf speakers can be used as surround. Do you think its a good setup or would you recommend some other surround speakers, if so which one? Also, would you say if I get a good receiver it should give decent bass (with the built in woofers in R8000F) or subwoofer is necessary?
Hi Thomas. Thank you for that video! I did By-Amp them. Big different then, better and stronger. But i miss really the middles. My setup: Yamaha RX-A 3080 - Denon POA 2800 - Setup 9.1. Subwoofer is a Boston Accoustic SW10. My own made 3-Way-Speaker have more "clearance". BTW, by unboxing --> open top and bottom, so you can push it out of the box. ;o) By from Roly - switzerland.
I also feel that my RB81ii are missing mid's. I purchased a center speaker - rp504c and now I can hear mids finally. Maybe a smaller woofer is better in this regard?
I tried the Klipsch Rp280s without Bi wiring, i didn't like the sound as much as when i did Bi wired them. Separated the instruments, then recently Bi Amped them. Crossovered at 80hrz sent bass to sub, 300watts just feeds the highs n mids. Like it way more now, but also made some dyi wires ofc 12 awg x 3. Amazing sound to me. Enjoy.
I passed up on the 600m again in favor of the crazy sale price on the JBL studio 530, I actually wrote you another book comment but I deleted it 😆 didn't wanna bother you with all my rambling lmao. Thanks again the audio Sensei !
@@tee-jaythestereo-bargainph2120 Yup, it was sent to my email so I did see it. Thanks and keep it there next time! Regarding the R2R Dac, everyone is waiting for it and I have mixed feelings about it, how to review it...
@@ThomasAndStereo I won't delete my comments anymore, I feel you on the mixed feelings when reviewing certain audio gear, theirs just so many pros vs cons its crazy , i'm going threw the same situation Thomas , My last video upload of the IOTAVX that i'm still working on. THE MULTI-FI-STACK-ATTACK ! And at end of video, i will be doing a comparison, the STACK against The Pioneer Elite Sx-N30, And its very hard to compare , The Stack is more balanced and refined with better dynamics, which leans towards a neutral sound signature , but the Pioneer has that rich powerful sound like a budget Denon integrated 1k amp has , ehaaa both are priced very simular, but the Pioneer sounds amazing with KEF speakers ! And the IOTAVX sounds amazing with all my other speakers . And i'm not a Pioneer fan at all, but the SX-N30 makes Magic with smaller KEF 🔊 ! Its just about finding that synergy theirs no better or best, you and ZF are so correct when you all say that !!! 😆
I never, ever compare a bookshelf to a floorstander counterpart for several reasons. 1) Different cost 2) The floorstander could be like the bookshelf with extended bass and dynamics or 3) The floorstander could have goofed the implementation and introduce flaws 4) Two different applications. Ideally, the floorstander is (2) more of everything good than the bookshelf is. But I have rarely seen a floorstander that performs as well as a well set up bookshelf and a sub. Essentially, the NHT and JBL l7 towers are a bookshelf mated to a built-in sub and well engineered/integrated. But more often than not...a tower version cuts too many corners to be a successful improvement. (Ie Bloated bass) FWIW: I appreciate Klipsch for certain strengths. I have the rp600M and a sub in one of my systems. Klipsch's titanium tweeter and crossover are inferior to a number of products out there. They lack linearity, control and dimension.
Yep agree with that, spec the active bookshelf ones. I owned the RF7 and replaced them with Active bookshelf 3 ways - and they are wayyyy better in every category. More precise, lower bass, better detailed imaging, they performes perfect in low & loud volumes - its all about the Effort in Speaker Design & Planning and not the size. Agree, most of the times a Bookshelf with/without Sub is the better solution than a big Tower. And yea. you get a lot for your money with klipsch but there are also better solutions on the market
@@vtkz the Klipsch RP8000 towers have a HUGE dip in response (-10db) between the midrange and treble. The RP600M bookshelf doesn't. There is no excuse for that other than cost-cutting / bad engineering on the 8000.
I was planning to buy 8000 for fronts, 6000 for rears, 504 for center, and some vented SVS or Arendal sub. The room is pretty small (~20 sq.m.) and music/movies 70/30. But now we got a damn war here. So, I'm not sure I will reach financially that setup. How do You think, maybe I should consider RP-600m for fronts and rears, 504 for center and 2 sealed subs instead? Or it's better to stick to original setup still (just, probably, to substitute rears for RP-600m instead of RP-6000)?
Without a doubt the 280F are way better than the 600M at least in big rooms. The 600M is good for small rooms and close quarters. I liked them 5 foot away but I didn't like them much from 12 feet away. But the 280F have authority, dynamics and bass punch the 600M can't touch.
My gf loves the Pink/Nate duet. I have heard it 4 times in the last month. I have it going through 2 canton le290/2 klipsch rp160m/svspb12/klipsch sw112 and a onkyo nr709/sr603 zone2. The vocals are top notch.
Hey Thomas, how would these compare both RP models, to the LS50W? Thinking of grabbing something for an NYC apartment. Currently don't own any front end so that's something i'm considering
Not sure your budget or preference style but I like my Klipsch 280f paired with the Yamaha aventage 880 which is laid back. Be prepared for long break in period and hard time getting room correction and placement exactly how you like it unless you're more skilled with it than I was. Last week JBL had the studio 570 for $200 each. I thought that was a good buy so my brother bought a pair. I have the 580 and they're pretty good, too. Elac ub5 is neutral, kinda boring in my opinion but easy to listen to for long periods of time. You might find something you like better. I recommend cheap audio man if you're budget is tight.
I have the klipsch rp-280fa I only bought them because I got a good price on them... I was always a def tech guy.. bp20s bp2000 studio monitors 450s and I have to say I really really like the klipsch!!!
Value-for-money today is off the charts. It's FAR better today than ever. Even within the last 5 years, everything has gotten much better for the money. Tracking this over the last 45 years, it wasn't always like this - at all. This can be said about a lot of things today.
Thank you Thomas for the review. I will buy Klipsch set of speakers in a month or two. 8000F 504C 502S SPL 150 I bought Marantz SR7013 already. Can't wait to set all up.
A conclusion would be easy to reach that says the 280f has not good or bad bass definition or that the bass is hummy (box resonance). On the speaker's own it probably does have bass issues but if you used ypao room correction, it will fix that bass right up on the 280f. The bass is clean and powerful in my system with the 280f.
I’d love to hear about your impressions of Danny Richie’s GR-Research mods for the Klipsch RP-600M speakers if you ever get a chance to hear them. Keep up the fine work!
I've listen to Danny Richie on GR research on the RP 8000f's and I'm confused here's why. Danny stated the Rp 8000f has a big hole in the middle, tweeter and woofers don't crossover correctly. But Audioholics Gene D. had his team do the measurements and stated they were awesome. So I'm not sure who to believe, but going on my Sales experience 26yrs. Danny does sell kits, he does state some truth about price pts speaker companies want to hit a exact price pt on each speaker. So cutting costs is the way to get there.
Excellent review Thomas. I have also been really impressed with the latest offerings from Klipsch. They really have found the "sweet spot" for the average audiophile who doesn't have money to burn. There needs to be a new metric for all of these above-average, entry level pieces of audio equipment coming out. We'll call it the P.A.W. (Punching Above its Weight) score. Not sure how the math should work on that, but I'm sure we could get plenty of suggestions. Maybe like a ratio of "expections" from 1 - 10 over "actual enjoyment level" 1 - 10. Anyway, take care and thanks for another outstanding review.
I have both, the 8000's are awesome! VERY picky on placement and amplification, and correct they scale really well. I improved Base definition by leaning foam wall treatment at a 45deg angle against the speakers rear port.
Hello Thomas, just to share a recent experience. I have Klipsch RP400m . (Previously had 600m and 8000F) I also have Q Acoustics Concept 300. A few days ago, I received my Choco sound Emei. The concepts sounded ok with it. I switched to my Heco Aurora 200 , and immediately my wife whose don't give a f*ck about my tests, says "Those sounds better". ( I was also instantly thinking the same). Later that day, and after listen a little more to the Auroras, ( to make sure it was only that one song) i came to the conclusion, that yes, Auroras sounded better to my ears. ( Not in micro detail, bottom end etc. Just not ashamed by any means in comparison) Then i connect the RP400m.... Since the first note, I was perplexed... "No way"... I think i finally met synergy, because otherwise i cant explain what im hearing. Thing is, all you said in your video, is true. The RP line, is fun in a very special way, and also got a warning from my wife for being carried away with loudness and fun. Ideed its crazy how good the modern affordable speakers sound today.
Thanks Thomas, for another great review! Really enjoy hearing your stories. You probably should try getting more sleep rather than staying up late listening to all of your gear though 😴
Hi Thomas, I'm new to the hifi scene and I'm building my first 5.1 setup. I'm currently looking at the 8000f as my main speakers and I have one quick question, does it pair well with the Denon X1600H?
Hello Thomas, thanks for the excellent review. Am considering these speakers to go with my Marantz model 30 amplifier. Buying them online, hence cannot audition them before buying. Would it be a good match for this amp? My genre of music is Classic rock, jazz, blues.... Thanks in advance.
I personally like it but keep in mind it does have a V curve so the positive is it is very lively and fun, the downside is not all instruments in the presentation will have the same presence. I have not heard the Model 30 so I don't know its sound signature.
Nice review Thomas, would of liked to see them hooked up to tube front end. I like your unique way of describing how equipment sounds.First review of 2020, Happy New Year & keep up the good work!
My room is small maybe the r 82f are they good? but I like these 8000f my front is a emotiva bas X A3 with the Denon avc x4 700h and 4 basx A2s for the other 8 channels
As much as I like the sonic profile the of the RP600, there seems to be a lacking of punch in the low hundreds hz region. This makes the smaller drums sounds a bit more recessed when compared to the 8000.
It's very easy to change the "forwardness" and "brightness" of most any Klipsch speaker be changing the "tip-in" of them. VERY small changes in tip-in angle can make a dramatic difference.
Great review! Thank you very much. Could you please do a video on how to soundtreat a room? I would like to know how to treat my room. I know about basstraps, diffusors, acoustic panels and all that good stuff but I really can’t find any information on how to place them/install them/how many I need for a room. I tend to go overkill most of the times so I really need some guidance in how many basstraps/diffusors/acoustic panels I need for any given room, I know everyone is different and what works for someone doesn’t work for another but I would like some rules of thumb or just some guidance… I hope you can make a video on this 🙏🏼❤️
I listen to rock. I had sounds systems that cost me from 10k to 50k. Until one day I sold everything and got some kliptch and marantz amp. The sound was much better and the cost much lower than all my ex expensive systems.
@@daftpaolo9789 I sold all the rest for a crazy price. Lol. I guess metal and rock does not go well with high costly speakers and amp. Was no dynamic and bass.
Probably a crazy question, but any thoughts to these compared with the Tekton DI? Klipsch much more in the budget and I've wanted them for a while. I'm also seriously intrigued about the tekton, just not sure if additional price would be easy to realize
Great video and useful info too. How would you rate the Klipsch Reference Series R-620F? I find that there is low volume of bass with these and i needed to add a sub. Should these put out more than im experiencing or they more aimed at the sound of the mids and highs? Thanks
Thomas, I am looking to purchase the klipsch RP 8000 and 600m set for home theater. Looking for a receiver with pre-out for future addon. Meanwhile, thinking about Denon 3700H or a cheaper Onkyo TXRZ730. Which of the 2 would you think matches better with the klipsch? Or any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Thomas, I have a home theater with an acoustically transparent screen, I have two svs subwoofers that I am very happy with, as well as 2 klipsch r-26f floor standing, keeping in mind the subwoofers are a very flat response and integrate seamlessly with a lot of speakers, should I go with the klipsch rp600m as my left right and center? my room is only 12 by 18 feet, would it even be worth getting the floorstanding?
On the 8000F: listen to program material that you know has content where the 8000F has a dropout. You will notice the dropout after a few tracks. I found that Axiom audio speakers have that same effect. There is a dip in the upper midrange. The tweeter is extra bright to attempt to mask this. Does it sound good? Subjectively, sure. Can it sound better? Yes, because my favorite speakers have no such chasm in the critical area of response.
You're right I'm experiencing the Same thing with my pair of rp8000f. I think it's due to the crossover integration. Take a look at Danny Richie's video on these.
@@jimmytatro11 yes but he is measuring at 1m away. I don't sit close as 1 m so for me it is a dip and not a null. I like v curves so this speaker really work for me. In that video, check out the comment section from audioholics cause they measured it and point out some stuff in the measurements and how it should be done for big speakers.
@@ThomasAndStereoOh I see no wonder the rp600m measured much better when Danny measured those. I can still very easily hear the dip though when listening to them especially during vocals. They sound unnatural to me.
Great job!!! I owned a pair of klipsch rp8000 and I wonder if you had any integrated amp in mind with ht bypass that could match with my speakers. My budget is not over 2000€. I’m sooo confused!!!
Hi Thomas love your videos you offer so much information. My question is have you tried these with the willsenton R8 or does it not have enough power to drive them ? Thx in advance
"fun" seems to be a universal modifier when talking about Klipsch. I know Guttenberg loves them! I'm thinking about a pair of the 600Ms for my 2nd system but will need to get them modded to take care of resonance and get better capacitors, etc.
Hey, Thomas! I do really need Your help here.
Another great time listening to your thoughts and stories Thomas! Props on step-in up the video quality and shots. I really enjoyed the one big shot of the front setup panning down.. good stuff man. I have been going back and forth on this same question all year debating between the RP600M due to all the reviews and from some short listening sessions but in the back of my mind I always wondered if bigger would mean better. I ultimately got lucky enough to hear the 8000F and was blown away but also missed that instrument separation and detail of the RP600M just like you did. So what to do? I purchased the RP 4000F! It seems to be the forgotten child of the lineup because I bought them for an absolute steal brand new, less than the RP600Ms! I am hoping it will l split the difference and give me that just right Goldilocks experience. I have to admit I am worried that the small drivers may hold it back but the small cabinet for a floor stander really intrigued me and it goes deeper than the RP600M, with maybe even more control due to the small drivers? Thats the hope anyway still need to set up this week hopefully I'll let you know! Keep up the great work it doesn't go unnoticed. Glad you are sticking with it!
Did you have a chance to run them around the block with the Class D mono blocks? That type of pairing would leave more $ on the table for the Musical Paradise or Denefrips DAC...
Wonderful review, I am planning to get 8000F pair, what is an ideal centre speaker for this? Can I use my Paradigm 7.1 CT cinema with these speakers, for surround and ceiling Atmos? What is ideal 11 channel AVR for this?
Let me say what Thomas should have said:. Klipsch are the best, there might be a reason to buy a smoother speaker like a jbl, elac, polk or kef as a secondary/demoing reference speaker but Klipsch is the best overall, especially when you can turn it up loud. They are the best theater speaker for sure and it's like a concert in your house playing music. That's it folks, get a Yamaha receiver, play around with the position and room correction and enjoy. I don't even need high end DACs, streamers, stands, wires, interconnecters, dvd players, acoustic treatments on my walls- all I needed was a Yamaha Aventage receiver, Monoprice monolith speaker cables, nakamichi banana plugs, roku, hulu, my phone's bluetooth and spotify. That's it, great sound!
klipsch is meant to be louder, thats a good thing for young people who like to blast at full volume they will feel the music, elac, jbl sometimes sound boring..........specially if listenning at low volume
@@carbonoxx definitely not disagreeing with you. Klipsch aren't just for those who listen loud; I don't listen loud yet I still am impressed. I'm not young, either, middle aged. I've had my 280f for about 3 years now. Still, see no reason to step up except for curiosity purposes. I feel like I might be missing some things higher end speakers might be able to offer but my down to earth mind tells me most high end audio is a slippery slope and mostly a waste of money. So unless you got money to waste, I think the Klipsch are an excellent speaker for someone living on a modest budget looking to put forth $3k for audio entertainment.
Thomas, i have the previous version RP-280F pairing it with emotiva G2 5-ch amp, i dont seem to get much bass from it. Since its similar with 8000F, i assume it the same. Any advice on why i am not getting enough bass or should i say that i am not feeling sufficient bass from it. And any way to make it more punchy? thanks. I got the RC-64 III as the center, and i feel much more punchy bass from it. ???
One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that these speakers don't disappear. You can localize the tweeter especially when something sharp plays. If enough people ask for the RF7 III, I will reach out to Klipsch, it would help if you can send them an email too. Don't forget to like and subscribe.
Please review the RF7 III. The 8000F and the RF7's were on my shortlist. In the end I went with their heritage line and got some Cornwalls. Definitely not a bright sounding speaker, but with amazing dynamics.
Yes, please review. I'm really looking into getting those.
@@Roo-n9j Nice, if you can help me send them an email too, it will help. Thanks!
@@crh4878 Thanks Carlton, if you can send them an email too, it will help me.
@@ThomasAndStereo Can I ask you how I go about this? I will do it.
Thomas,
You really, really helped me pick the right speakers for my setup.
"You can just Google the specs." That's when I liked and subscribed. Thank you.
@@ThomasAndStereo Yes, definitely ask for the center RF 64 III, they are great and pairs well with the RF 7 III's..
@@ThomasAndStereo yes, definitely try the center and place the towers as far apart as possible. Even in 3 channel mode, the experience is incredible.
@@CUDAbuster Thanks, I wonder if the 'hole' is the reason why it is so easy to localize the tweeter in the room...
Decided to go for the rp8000f after listening to kefs, bw, ca and all the regulars. By far the best choice.
You do great reviews. I appreciate that you focus on your impressions of the speakers' performance, and not the specs.
Dear Thomas, thank you for the great content and presentation. I really enjoy watching your videos.
I couldn’t decide between the 2 pairs, so....................I got both, love them!
Thanks, and I can tell you the better frontend gear you give it, the better it will scale.
Thanks for the feedback.
I bet this system sounds killer.
I have my 8000 RF connected to Audio quest 14 gauge pure copper wire no bananas and Sydney's Rca connectors on a Bie wired fashion Awesome sound clarity and datails
So many great speakers under 2k right now, I just want all of them in my house, one for each day of the week lol 🤣

Loved your review, thank you. I’m using Klipsch / REL for a 7.1.4 home theater and Naim/REL for music.
Thanks Thomas for the review it really helped me to plan my home theater
Your video quality is getting better and better Thomas, good job!

Just got them! 98db they go super loud. Sounded horrible straight out the box, but everything started to gel after a couple of hours. Happy days!
@@scubalbany Nice, give it about 50 to 100 hours. (Well not playing at low volume) The top end will smoothen out and the bass will get tighter.
RP800F vs RF7III
Would love to here your thoughts on the RF7III
Another great vid, Thanks Thomas
Thanks, perhaps I can reach out to Klipsch and ask them to send me the RF7 if there is enough interest from others in this comment section.
Can you drop Klispch an email? I will reach out to them too if enough people ask for it.
Comparing the 8000f vs the RF7iii vs the Polk lsim 707 would be a crazy good comparison
It’ll let you see how the klipsch sound improves within their line and how they compare to the Polk lsim which was in the same price bracket.
Cheers.

@perl man Agreed. I'd say it all depends on personal preferences and budget😏. But like you, I did a lot of research before settling on the RF 7III's.
If you click on the image on the top left it should take you to the channel where I have a few videos of the RF 7III's performing in my space. Enjoy.
They drive nicely with an 'warmer' Denon AVR-X6200W .. they take a while to run in.... luv em
Yeah, I need to get myself some tube gears again. I sold everything and I regret it. Yup, you can just tell with my big smile :)
SUCH GREAT SERVICE
Lastly, having seen the Klipsch RP504C on sale somewhere for $750 (reg $999) I made EVERY effort to have someone honor that and that wasn't happening... knowing that Visions sells select RP speakers I pushed & they agreed to sell it at $750+tax!!!
AMAZINGLY FULL SOUND
GOOD LUCK
I absolutely love my RP8000F! Glad you like them too. They really do make music fun and enjoyable to listen to! Without any of that old shouty/fatiguing Klipsch sound, that many still think of when they hear about Klipsch.
Ps My goal for getting new speakers was to find something smaller and more design friendly than my old ones, but ending up buying these that are even larger because they sound so well! Haha!
Haha...yeah I know what you mean. If only I had a bigger house...
Good review Thomas.
"fun" is a word you hear across the board from reviewers about Klipsch speakers.
Yeah, I never understood that until I have a pair of Klipsch at my place.

Hi Richel H are you saying that the 600m disappeared when being played ? And how wide is their sweet spot. Thanks
“I see my wife going, Thomas, what the hell you doing?” Awesome
That might be a good Thing
Budget speakers nowadays aren't made in house but are built off-country to specifications with lower labor costs. Snobs might consider these to be more ephemeral than the in-house built ones.

BTW, by unboxing --> open top and bottom, so you can push it out of the box. ;o)
By from Roly - switzerland.
Enjoy.
RF7III next?? Great review. Thanks for the honesty

1) Different cost
2) The floorstander could be like the bookshelf with extended bass and dynamics or
3) The floorstander could have goofed the implementation and introduce flaws
4) Two different applications.
(Ie Bloated bass)
FWIW: I appreciate Klipsch for certain strengths.
So Thomas what were the other two speakers that gave you that feeling?
Hello, what wall stands do you jave at 1:43 and will those fit the rp600m in that 90 degrees position? Thanks!
Thomas are you still rocking these giants ? If not where are you sending us for an upgrade ?
Yup, so true.
Thank you Thomas for the review.
I will buy Klipsch set of speakers in a month or two.
8000F
504C
502S
SPL 150
I bought Marantz SR7013 already.
Can't wait to set all up.
Nice!
Yeah, me too! I was drooling when I saw that video!
Can someone out there PLEASE send Thomas a pair of GR-Research-modded RP-600M’s to review? 😊
Haha...nice, I like P.A.W!
I have both, the 8000's are awesome! VERY picky on placement and amplification, and correct they scale really well. I improved Base definition by leaning foam wall treatment at a 45deg angle against the speakers rear port.

I also have Q Acoustics Concept 300.
Just not ashamed by any means in comparison)
Then i connect the RP400m....
Nice! Thanks for sharing. Yup, it's incredible what affordable speakers can do with a good amplifier.
Thank you for the comparison. I currently have a pair of RP-4000F which I love. Would the RP-600M be upgrade at all? Already have a subwoofer.
Wow!
This guy is like the Vincent Teoh for audio systems!
lol...must be the glasses :)
id104335409 lol
How are 8000F II different from these... cant wait to have mines.
Thanks Thomas, for another great review! Really enjoy hearing your stories. You probably should try getting more sleep rather than staying up late listening to all of your gear though 😴
Haha...yeah, I need sleep.
Hi Thomas, I'm new to the hifi scene and I'm building my first 5.1 setup. I'm currently looking at the 8000f as my main speakers and I have one quick question, does it pair well with the Denon X1600H?
Sorry need heard that Denon
Oh boy, another Klipsch speaker review.
But another Klipsch video by Thomas and stereo.....
I for one appreciate long reviews and videos in general.
Thanks Carlos.
Can you provide more details on your speaker mounts and stands? I love them and am looking for some.
They are from amazon the home theater mounts on the side. The stand mounts stand are BBC stands but from 20 years ago.
Cool, I just bought a pair of the Open box RP-160M for $336 to play around with ... I haven't heard Klipsch speakers in almost 20 years !
I wonder if they have the old or new klipsch sound. Give it time to break in.
@@ThomasAndStereo Apparently they are the "newer" sound more laid back, almost identical to the newer RP600M minus the vented tweeter..
Thanks, happy new year. I need to get a tube integrated Amp again. I sold all mine.
Did you have a chance to pair them with the Zen triode I was curious you didn't name the amp that you felt was unsuccessful
Yup, very interesting how they change with positioning.

@@ThomasAndStereo thank you!
Just what I was thinking,, come on Thomas, treat us, , no pun int,,
Regards Antony,, Warrington...
I listen to rock. I had sounds systems that cost me from 10k to 50k. Until one day I sold everything and got some kliptch and marantz amp. The sound was much better and the cost much lower than all my ex expensive systems.
How can this be even possibile? Either you used to throw away money in bad gear or...?
@@daftpaolo9789 I sold all the rest for a crazy price. Lol. I guess metal and rock does not go well with high costly speakers and amp. Was no dynamic and bass.
@@pauloalexandre-dd4nl got it. These Klipsch seem like they’re perfect for that
Thank you for another wonderful video
Probably a crazy question, but any thoughts to these compared with the Tekton DI? Klipsch much more in the budget and I've wanted them for a while. I'm also seriously intrigued about the tekton, just not sure if additional price would be easy to realize
Thomas great video as always.
Thanks Felix
Thomas & Stereo ur welcome buddy.
Thomas great review, thank you. Are the 8000 detailed ? Like close to focal details ? Thanks
Thanks heaps for the detailed review Thomas!! Which sound did you prefer more between the IOTAVX stack or Yamaha WXA50 with the Klipsch's?
I like it with the WXA50 more BUT with an external DAC.
Great video and useful info too. How would you rate the Klipsch Reference Series R-620F? I find that there is low volume of bass with these and i needed to add a sub. Should these put out more than im experiencing or they more aimed at the sound of the mids and highs? Thanks
Thanks, I have never heard the R620F.
Hi Thomas i got myself a kanta n2 and yes it sounded much brighter than my current Kef R700 which i like it been burning it throughout the weekends
It will eventually tone down the brightness but it will still be way more than the R700. Congrats.
After seeing this video I ordered Rp8000F ..thanks
How are they?
I see, the axiom, have you compared to bryston?
@@jimmytatro11 yeah, some people don't like sharp v curve.
Thanks, I have not but I doubt the R8 will not have enough power to drive it.
For me, the back speakers are just for effect so any speakers will do. The most important is to get the front 3 speakers right.
Yes, please let me know and appreciate the well-written comment.
Which one would you choose between the rb 280fa or the 8000f ? They are both same price !
Sorry, never heard the 280f
Is there any difference between the 8000f and the rp 280 besides cosmetic changes?
Sorry, never heard the rp280.
Did you have a chance to run them around the block with the Class D mono blocks? That type of pairing would leave more $ on the table for the Musical Paradise or Denefrips DAC...
I did try with Classe and it sounded great.
@@ThomasAndStereo Not the CLASSE D220, but the 'DIY' class D mono blocks....sorry to bug
Finally. Many thanks
Wonderful review, I am planning to get 8000F pair, what is an ideal centre speaker for this? Can I use my Paradigm 7.1 CT cinema with these speakers, for surround and ceiling Atmos? What is ideal 11 channel AVR for this?
They should have the matching center channel. I think it is this one, check with them.
www.klipsch.ca/products/rp-500c-center-channel-speaker
@@ThomasAndStereo Thanks, but i can use these as atmos and surround right? which 11 channel AVR do you suggest to use with these?
Probably placement/seating position issue.
