I see how you've been covering a lot of R&B bands (bands as in bands who play instruments) lately... This group, Mint Condition, Kool & the Gang, Klymaxx, etc. Definitely an underrated genre of musicians in the R&B world that don't even exist anymore in the mainstream and who deserve recognition because bands are not exclusive to the worlds of rock, jazz, etc. Keep it up!
You right about that. I think she should start calling the non-instrument-players "groups" instead of bands. Boy group, girl group, R&B group, musical group, rap group.
I was working at an independent record store on Long Island and was granted a press pass to some meet-and-greet Media thing they did. They were so nice and humble. Loved their cassette (album). Shame they were a "One Hit Wonder."
I'm 48yo, from Colombia, and remember this song, I heard the song at Colombia back when I was a teen, love it and keep it in my heart👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Interesting... Joe Public. I don't have too much to say because all I know and love is _Live and Learn._ That song defined my life during the time. I still listen to it all the time because the nostalgia feels so good. Never bothered to listen to they full LP during the time and I can see why. It was kinda la di da di. Guess folks were too busy w/ Jodeci & Boyz II Men. Yeah, that's about it for me, Sis.
@@walifa3641 Please. Wasn't nobody listenin' to them songs. Too much competition. Besides, they record label was too focused on Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson.
Glad that there's a story about them. I've been wondering what happened to them. I never knew they made a 2nd album. It's too bad that they've stopped making albums but I'm glad that they've been active in the behind the scenes stuff and songwriting. Imo they should've been in the hall of Fame much sooner than later. The song "Live and learn" I LOVED listening to on the radio. It had a strong message and the beat was well put together and it grooves! If key word IF they ever decide to make an album in the near or late future I'll be checking for it. Glad that they're still around!
Interesting how Joe Public boasted of playing live instruments, but were crickets about Steely Dan's sample for 'Peg' that was used in 'Live and Learn' though.
Sorry! #notsorry i was 11 years old & was a dj but also a fan waiting for autographs backstage at their concert & they were THE RUDEST if not just plain mean “famous” people I’ve ever met… I’ve had the chance to meet redman Janet & a few others but they left the worse impressions of “entitled & mean spirited” ever… it’s no wonder they only had 1 mediocre hit
Live and Learn by Joe Public is a timeless classic
Live and Learn was the jam. Words to live by.
Them living color, mint condition , ready for the world...so blessed to grow up with real talent 🙌🏾 🙏🏾 👏🏾 👌🏾 😌
Glad they were inducted in 2013. Joe Public is another example of talented artists who deserve their flowers while they're still with us.
Let’s get to the Root is always showcasing lesser known artists 👏🏾
🎶YOU GOT TO LIVE AND LEARNNNNNN🎶 Still a banger to this day.
Live and Learn is one of my favorite songs, I played it at work a few years ago, and I was amazed how the younger people were dancing to it.

The R&B band is dying out if it hasn't already. I don't see any in the mainstream but there are a lot in the underground/club scene.
You've Got to Live and Learn! 🎵 🎶 Words to live by! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was working at an independent record store on Long Island and was granted a press pass to some meet-and-greet Media thing they did. They were so nice and humble. Loved their cassette (album). Shame they were a "One Hit Wonder."
Live and Learn was my JAM in 7th grade! I've always wondered what happened to them
Same here
"I don't want to be the one
To tell you how it's gotta be
Livin' is the only way
You're ever really gonna see" - Joe Public
Live and Learn is a 90s r&b classic hit
Love these stories so much
Joe Public definitely deserves more credit
Indeed it is
“You got to live & learnnnn”🎶🎶❤️❤️
They are the ones who sung back up for Keith Sweat on Keep it Comin.
Da Slow remix version, or da Faster version??
@@chancest.thomas5160 both
Their producer lionel job produced it and they co-wrote the song
Live and learn was one of my favorite songs still to this today
Your not alone
My Hometown ❤️ this song is still a classic

Same to you! 🥰
Only if I have time machine, I’ll go back to the 90s and live my life again.
Live and learn is the song that inspires me every day.
i loved this band! 💜
Thanks for the video. Joe Public is classic '90's during my childhood. Could you do a video on Cheryl Lynn? ❤️

I think their LP had some good songs, definitely deserved more, but hey they were in a really tough decade with all the greats.

I never miss an upload
Thank you so much for the support! 🥰
Live and learn is by far the only song I even remotely listened to by this band, I couldn’t come close to naming you another song they did
'This one's for you' was another banger.
Can you do a video on the group Dru Hill?

Me neither, G
Loved live and learn. Unfortunately I never got to listen
Never heard of them but they seem really talented
Never heard this guys before 🙁
Glad you do now!
Joe Public.
Nice 👍🙂 band, I miss those guys.
Mint condition also played their own instruments 💯🔥
Live n learn was the joint back then
Interesting how Joe Public boasted of playing live instruments, but were crickets about Steely Dan's sample for 'Peg' that was used in 'Live and Learn' though.
Heard that Live and Learn song before but, never really heard of Joe Public. Saw this vid and was like, "who?"
Joe Public Enemy?! 🤪
They lived across the street from me
I thought all these years Atension and Joe Public were the same group :)
Neva heard of 'em.
Live and Learn is a great song. Joe Public could've had more success but I guess it wasn't meant to be.
With the exception of Mint Condition, the 90s were not a good time for bands.

Jesus is Alive he love us all you heard the loud voice that you couldn't see you're white and look up to heaven
Jesus loves you and he is coming back soon so repent and spread the word of God to the people
Only 6 and a half minutes. That says it all. LOL
