Was an m3 lee/grant tank ww2 considering it's value I'd bet that tank chassis has probably gone off to be used for parts and that particular tank didn't have that engine it would have had a 9 cylinder radial engine originally
@@AutomotiveKarnage no idea but it was common place for farmers to "bathtub" the old tanks and replace the motors with stuff that's more reliable and old radial engine isn't the best engine for a farmer's home made bulldozer haha
@@AutomotiveKarnage the engine looks like an old Gardner 6l diesel motor. You should definitely get that, it’d be worth a mint today. Being a Gardner it would probably fire straight up too if not seized or in bad nick!
The series one Land Rover petrol engines had a "inlet over exhaust" valve arrangement....1.6L and 2.0L versions. The diesel 2.0L had a conventional OHV arrangement.
Way the fuck over here in the Idaho Rockies I'm enjoying your video's Mate! 11:18 The Land Rover engine is known as an "F" head design, the Willys Jeep had that same style back in the 50's too.
In relation to the engine at 10:38 It is called a F head motor. I was told that the inlet is overhead and exhaust is side valve. As the intake is only pushed in at atmospheric pressure (14psi) it is best to go in a more straight line to the piston. But because the exhaust is pushed out under pressure it can turn the corner to go out the side valve. (But some engines may have exhaust at top and inlet at side.
I was invited to look at a Station Junk yard in 1989 west of Mount Magnet .HK Monaro 3 off HP blocks just sat on the ground & so on.I got Badges GMH off a Truck. I wanted the BSA 500 single rigid frame but he would not sell.
Ford PREFECT wrecks . Thanks very much Can you please show some more old Ford's. Anglia . Popular .etc also. Do you have any videos with old English fords thanks.
That Land Rover engine, quite a few manufactures did engines like that built from the older side valve engine blocks, leave the intake valves in the block as they were in a side valve engine but the exhaust valve was removed from the block and a push rod was put in its place to operate a now OHV exhaust valve. Jeep/Kaiser/Willys did this with the Go Devil engine and created the ‘f’ head engine. Was a way to get more power from a side valve based engine.

Wow thanks for the info mate. I wonder what this big old lump came out of then?

Just for the record, I recognised the Morris Commercial immediately because that's the model truck I learnt to drive in!
Awesome and entertaining as usual. You are starting to get me interested in bush wrecks.
Glad to hear it!

@@AutomotiveKarnage yes nice to see you are using my suggestions with the drone. I love using mine drone. Look forward for your next video. 👍

Cool finds bro
Something a bit different.
I use to own a farm and a torana that was at the back of it was a snakes nest so I never went near it
That is a good reason to not touch a Torana lol
Get a hold of the series Land Rover firewall, you can sell that if it's not all rusted up. A new galvinised one will set you back 2000 pound sterling.
There is another stash of Landys I found that have a few good parts on them. Now how to get them to the UK?
@@AutomotiveKarnage fedex/DHL 😁. But let the buyer pay for the transport.
If the firewall in the old landy is not rusted it could be worth a bit
Scooter's a Triumph.

Will try mate, but we find what we find. Its a mixed bag out there.
A lot of restorable cars
definitely some good parts and bodys out here.

Hey mate, another great vid. Have you considered getting a decent drone to help you search through the scrub
Thanks for watching. Yea I have a DJI Phantom that I am still learning how to use.
The Morris (?) truck would've made a nice rat rod project.
now that is a fantastic idea.
Hi it's a triumph tiger scooter :)
so it is! thanks for the tip.
Commer, or Morris Commercial?
Yeah bro ah..😁😁😁😁😂😂😂
Cheers dude
That's an L-head.
See an early Land Rover 4 cylinder.
Who cares, your out there and I’m still in lockdown. If you want any animals I’ll go!! 😀😀😀😁😁😁🤪🤪🤪😛😛😜😜
I figured that's why I better start filming again.
Prob make decent coin on scrap around there
