I *just* tried matcha for the first time this morning. It was quite lovely! I prepared it the way you do as well, Aki-sama. Maybe I'll start making it at work every morning (I usually have hot green tea). Thank you as always! I love your positive attitude and awesome tips!
Oh my goodness! I have to try some of these, but alas, I don't have a way to heat water with fire! But I had my matcha this morning and guess who got me onto matcha? Yess! It was Aki. Thank you, Aki. Now I'll start trying these other drinks. Another great video.
I actually used to make that Pine Needle drink a lot back then, hoping it would help with my high blood pressure. I even prepared it exactly like Aki did in the video. Unfortunately, one of my neighbors-classic Germany-kept watching me cut needles from the tree and reported me to the police, thinking I was brewing drugs. In the end, though, the officers took it with humor and were a bit puzzled as to why I would want to drink pine needles at all.
Yerba mate and matcha have the same nutrients according to some studies. I drink (as basically any Argentinian) mate every day. I just included matcha tea leaves to improve it. I hope matcha tea and yerba mate can potentiate their effects for good reasons 🙂
This video is awesome! My mom drinks KOSO regularly. One time she stopped drinking it, and her gut was back to not healthy (constipation) so she restarted drinking it. She cannot live without KOSO😂
Pine leaves drink is new to me! I'm amazed a lot of commentators are familiar with it... We have at least two kinds of pine trees out side, so i'm hesitant to try it😅 (the most common ones i think are standard pines, but what if it's the wrong kind)
In indonesia🇮🇩 almost every house uses "Sayu" (ind read: Air Masak). This water more healtier than tap water. We love tea and coffe every single day. But, since 7 years ago, i always drunk greea tea and matcha everyday🎉
I thank Aki for useful lifehacks. Maybe, the next video, *Questions and Answers*? The first question. Are Aki going to return to his previous profession? (the teacher) He teach us with great interest!
… and I like amazement, huzu, matcha and green tea. I will make the water fire air one right now. Thank you. Chamomile tea and hibiscus tea are other favorites.
Some Indigenous peoples of North America have also used pine needles to make tea. Of course, please educate yourself on which pine species is good for that. Kuzu-yu(?) I’m curious if I can get that in Canada. I’m from Vancouver, I watched your videos from when you visited and lived in Victoria! Hope you visit again!

Hi Aki. Isn’t it funny… I just did online search for matcha benefits. One reason is I have a cold. Then I put in my search to see what you have to say. But no video with that description. But, here you are with champagne glasses and more drinks. Haha. Thank you. Take care.
Dear Samurai! Like you are reading my mind - just the video I was waiting for, thank you very much. I also heard from some of my (male) Japanese friends, their wives drinking apple cider some kind of juice, also good for gut health. Do you maybe to know which one? Here in Germany we don’t have these nice options you have in Japan, so I always have to think ahead and plan where can I order this drinks from. Also what is your thought on amount if sugar in Koso? Sending hugs from Berlin 💜
I drink matcha each and every morning just after waking up at 5 a.m. and before engaging in pranayama and vinyasa yoga exercises until 7 a.m. I always add some lemon juice, for it has a catalytic effect on the absorption of all the good stuff present in the powdered tea leaves. Green tea is also consumed in the afternoon, usually 2 cups, the first one just after having had the daily miso soup with powdered seaweed and shiitake, in which sometimes natto is also added. It is a really tasty combination, BTW, but miso and natto must be added only when the soup has cooled down (so to say) to 60-70 degrees Celsius. But I'm just hoping that I won't have such a very long life, 55-60 would be really enough. It is extremely rare for people above a certain advanced age to be able to do yoga and to fully care for themselves, so no matter how healthy one is, it just lacks any practical sense to cling so very much to a life that becomes increasingly difficult to live normally given the impairments brought on by natural aging, no matter how painstaking measures one takes to try to remain fit through foods, drinks or anything else. Better to pass away relatively healthy and fit than tied to a chair or a bed. Well at least for those of us who just love twisting in different yoga asanas and can't stop doing it every day, for in time it becomes a fundamental part of active life.
Wow you are so disciplined and well organized! I am currently 60 years old and life is much more better when you get older. You appreciate it more and additionally it makes more fun. Therefore don't put yourself at a limit because with 60 you don't have really a lot of diseases I think probably it will start with 80.

Hello Aki! Thank you for sharing this with us. Matcha and green tea I get to enjoy daily 😊. I'd love to try the other super drinks that Japan has to offer
thank so much for sharing these healthy drinks. i am interested in R's koso. i have 2 questions please. 1. what are postbiotic, probiotic and prebiotic? 2. 9.3g sugar contained in the R's koso label. is it from natural sweet or added sugar? thank you🙏
Hello Judy, thank you so much for your interest and thoughtful questions! I’m happy to clarify. 1. Probiotics: These are live beneficial bacteria that help populate your digestive system with good microbes, supporting digestion and overall gut health. 2. Prebiotics: These are specialized plant fibers that serve as food for probiotics. Prebiotics help nourish the good bacteria already present in your gut, supporting their growth and activity. Essentially, prebiotics act as fuel for the probiotics. 3. Postbiotics: These are beneficial compounds produced when probiotics consume prebiotics. They’re essentially the “byproducts” of the fermentation process, but they play an important role too. Postbiotics include nutrients like vitamins B and K, amino acids, and antimicrobial peptides that help inhibit harmful bacteria, supporting a balanced and healthy gut environment. As for the sugar content in R’s KOSO, it’s largely derived from natural ingredients, like fruits, vegetables, seaweeds, mushrooms, and other plants, which contain natural fructose. During the initial fermentation process, a small amount of sugar is added to feed the beneficial microbes (similar to how kombucha is made). Over the year-long fermentation, much of this sugar is transformed into nutrients and other beneficial compounds, leaving a minimal amount of residual glucose. For those concerned about blood sugar, we recommend enjoying one serving of R’s KOSO slowly over 1-2 hours to help keep blood sugar levels stable. And for those needing to minimize sugar intake further, we also offer a Lower Sugar version of R's KOSO. This option is designed to support gut health with even lower glucose content, ideal for individuals monitoring blood sugar or diabetes. Let me know if you have any more questions😊
How can i find all of them at the same website? Make a websites for your last video japanese superfood and japanese superfood drinks. It will be easier for us international audience.... thank you
