There's nothing quite like going on Safari - but a Safari in Sri Lanka is even more unique! Hope you enjoy the vlog and make sure you watch the full series here! ua-cam.com/video/5W8Wc_u78VU/v-deo.html
As a Sri Lankan myself, It's really cool to see how much insight you guys have about Sri Lankan culture. Not many travelers do that. This certainly is a different kind of a Vlog! :)
it's an incredible destination! Still working up blog posts from my trip, but it was definitely one of my favorite destinations so far and I would go back in a heartbeat. I need some more of that coconut sambal!
@@rasikanarmal1642 You are an idiot, tourism industry bring so much money to country and employed lot of people. It's not the tourist but us that kill these animals.
Stunning and knowledgable content as always! Sri Lanka looks amazing , can’t wait to see more! Quick question , is an elephant safari experience in Sri Lanka affordable for the budget traveller? Would love to include something like this in my itinerary :)
Thank you Madalena! There are quite a few Safari operators and definitely some budget friendly ones. You can find out more with a quick google search but always find cheaper options when you get there in person
Udawalawa is one of another places where you can take safaris! Same as here, there are hundreds of elephants to see. FYI : Safari at Udawalawa will cost you around 100 USD for a jeep(6 people). Tour is breathtaking and will take around 4/5hours! I think the rate will be similar at Kawdulla and other safari places as well.
If you visit Sri lanka, don't just roam around cities like colombo, explore rural areas and beaches.. and avoid local scammers, always hire a guide or transport. credit cards are useless in rural areas take money with you.. don't eat too much spicy food unless your stomach is used to hot spicy stuff..
Wow nice to see this …SAFARI in Sri Lanka is the most adventure thing for Travelers when you visit the Yala National Park ,Wilpattu National Park you can see many Wild Animals such as Srilankan Leopards and Bears
A little correction about the idea of the 'tree house'. It's not where villagers used to spend the night in order to stay safe from wild elephants. A tree house is usually built in a tall huge tree within a farmer's farming land. The farmers spend most of their nights at the tree houses within the days from cultivation to harvesting crops. (In fact, these farmers spend only a half the year for farming and they spend the rest of the year for religious work, and the harvested farm is left for wild life. This was a very sustainable co-existence with nature). The tree house is to chase away the wild elephants and other wild animals -which come at night- from their budding crops. They used to use many traditional methods accompanied with the nights of tree-houses. There are 'tree-house poems' farmers recite out aloud that it could be heard by other farmers spending their nights at tree houses, so they could stay awake till early morning. One farmer recites after another, and sometimes their conversation/communication was made in the form of these tree house ballads, before the advances of communication methods. Some farmers still spend nights at tree houses, yet with the exception of those poems. Anyway, your mention about tree-houses is not so significant here(so it wouldn't matter much), with every other so significant positive vibes about the country throughout the vlog. Thanks!
Last Saturday, I went to Similipal national park in Odisha, India. Which is 100km from my village. I saw many elephants and got a pic clicked with them too. :) Elephants are beautiful and lovely creatures.
