- Today was a massive highlight as we rode the most scenic train ride in the world from Kandy to Ella.
Honestly did not think that riding a very local Sri Lankan train could be the highlight of our trip so far. Sitting amongst the locals as we took our 7 hour train journey through tea plantations and mountain ranges.

British transported the metal to build the bridge. However,world war I needs,meant the steel was diverted to support the war effort. A Sri Lanka named Appuhamy in consultation with British engineers built the bridge which was designed by Harold Marwood of the Ceylon government railway. So the bridge does not have any metal re-inforcements. As a result rusting is not a problem . Concrete stress would be if there is concrete in the structure
It is so gorgeous and green! Note to self, Sri Lanka is a tea lover's paradise.

One of the best train rides I've ever been to! And it's so much cheaper than transportation back home.
For me, in the UK, the same length of journey on a train costs about 50 times the price. 😂

Idk about now, but they say u can experience almost all the climates in the world within one day in Sri Lanka. Btw not literally. But jst so u know, u can go from burning alive to freezing alive in probably 5 or 6 hours 😂

For your record, if you got off from the wale watching boat at Mirissa in the morning and drive 2 hours towards the Udawalawe National park-literally you have watched the biggest mammal in the water (Blue whale) and biggest mammal on the ground (elephant) within two hours apart. The only place in the world to do so. :) :) Welcome to Sri Lanka!

Hi! I would definitely recommend you to take 22-hr train journey from Ankara to Kars in Turkey during winter. I know you have been to Turkey before but the Eastern Express is one of the most iconic train rides with its beautiful view of an endless white blanket

This is something to remember for lifetime and grate stuff guys.
We took this train in december 2019. We went from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. The train was packed to the fullest. We didnt get a seat, had to stand the full 4hours. We didnt see any of the secenery because when you are standing the windows are to low, also it was raining and the people closed the windows and they completely fogged up. Really horrible experience for us 😄

Btw guys ella is pronounced like this : say "al" first like when you say albino. An then say "ler" or "leh" wihout pronouncing the r. so its like "aller "or "alleh". Not like ella. 😃
