I love hearing, “you’re the adult” as a way of doing what’s best. I guess being the adult means you can’t be human or express how you feel being disrespected.
Dear FOTF, along with Mr. Chapman and Mr. Deal, thank you so much for taking the time putting this video together. My wife and I are a blended family and have spent the last three years involved in a blended families life group at our church and it has radically changed our lives. We started by going through the Smart Stepfamily Marriage book and curriculum which opened our eyes to the complexities and hardships that blended marriages go through. Then we moved on to the Smart Stepfamily book which touches on a dynamic that is extremely difficult to understand by those not directly involved. I truly believe the blended family ministry is the fastest growing, under served ministry within the church. Today's culture is creating more broken families then ever before and the church is having a hard time understanding and providing the level of care and education to not just survive, but thrive through these difficult circumstances. These resources are a huge help and serve as a great reminder of why Jesus spoke fervently on the importance of love and marriage because our heavenly Father knew the pain and hurt that results from broken families. However, where darkness looms light can shine that much brighter and blended families are a place that can bring restoration and be a true example of unconditional love.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback, Ryan! We’re encouraged to hear how our content has helped you in your blended family! It’s evident that you’ve persevered through some rough patches, and the Lord has worked mightily in your marriage. Know that we are praying that He’ll continue to bring wisdom and strengthen the work He has begun!
I think the most hurtful thing i had was the first year with my step kids when my stepson told me "you're just a stepmom". He was 8 or 9 and i just remember the way that he said it was like he threw it into my face and it really hurt my feelings, his dad stepped in at that point. It's gotten much better since then, we're on 3 and a half years now as a family.
Id love to grow with love and in love with my family and upcoming family. Indeed we should remember the future and not the past, in our mental capacity of a healthy, cultivated family of those kids.
thank you so much. we are geting ready to blend families next year and your resources are most helpful to prepare for our slowcooker. thank you for amazing practical examples.

My fiancé tells his biological kids that I don’t like them when he’s upset with me. I feel like that abusive. I’ve never ever said I didn’t like his kids I am so hurt. Now they stopped engaging with me completely

This is all a lie. its been over 11 years and it's still not happening. There is a wall, we all ignore it but I'm sick of it. I've asked for years to develop a relationship and I get ignored. My step daughter is struggling with an addiction but I'm almost ready to throw in the towel.
Girl I'm 100% with you. I've been at it since 2018. Sometimes the dinamics are too complex to add another family. Him and his children are closed off. I'm ready to leave.
Coming from a child perspective, my stepmom never connected with me, she didn’t even try. She put her energy into her kid and her kid with my dad. I never done anything dishonorable to her. My dad is deceased now. I haven’t spoken to her in yrs. I tried I called, wrote letters, my husband even called no response, our kids have no idea who she is, so we just let it go and move on with our lives.Happy and thriving! 😊

so true-it is time for the blended family marriage to bring light to the darkness!!!
Thank you for this, very informative
This was very helpful because I realize it’s going to take some time before it all comes together and learning to be patient . ❤️
How is it going?
This applies to all relationships. If only more people would understand this and take the time to learn their loved ones’ languages.
Undivided attention, quality time. Release and receive.
Impeccable timing.
THANK YOU ♥️

How do you incorporate the biological parent?
Does this work for teens?
My fiancé tells his biological kids that I don’t like them when he’s upset with me. I feel like that abusive. I’ve never ever said I didn’t like his kids I am so hurt. Now they stopped engaging with me completely
:*( I pray it gets better
I would not enter marriage with that man.
Is there some reason he feels that way?
By any chance do you have this translated to Spanish?

I dont think blended families are Biblical.
I am curious why do you say that 🤔
wasn't jesus in a blended family
@@AndrewRed technical no. There was not ex wife or anything like that. But Joseph was his earthly father.
@@thewordologistchannel4574 Jesus said it was a union and only death separates. You can divorce but have to remain single unless the spouse dies.
@@AndrewRed No, Jesus was in a family with the mother and father. Mary and Joseph never divorced.
