I don't know why you cut that section out of the rear end housing that kind of didn't make sense to me, I do this stuff for a living what I would have done is left the housing intact then used my plasma cutter and cut out where the drain plug is on the reinforcing plate then weld the reinforcing plate directly to the housing, if you use two of those reinforcing plates then the drain plug would have been even recessed a little bit, and you would have had even double the reinforcement and lost minimum ground clearance like three eighths of an inch isn't going to make that big of a deal also on that reinforcement plate I would have made it longer almost all the way to where the tube transitions at least the bottom one and then the second one I would have plated it would have been about the same size that you did, the reason I say this is it is going to be a giant pain in the ass to change the fluid on that now,
That is a good point and lots of people do that. In my experence no matter how you brace the bottom of the axle you cant protect the drain plug. It always gets messed up and unusable. Also this way I dont lose any ground clearance, and if anything I might gain some. I am planning on doing the same to the front axle but being more extreme and hopefully I will gain upwards of 3/4" more clearance (probally like 1/2"). It would definatlly be easier and faster to place the plate on the bottom, and if I were doing it for a living that is what I would do, because time is money.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Glad to get another Samantha build video. Keep ‘em coming 🍻
More to come!
Great video! It's really good to see the mistakes and what you needed to do to correct them.
Thanks! We're all learning one way or another
Hell ya! Awesome video! Definitely gave me the last little push I needed to start cutting up my front axle🤘 thanks again!
What are you doing?
Awesome fabrication video! Thanks for sharing your mistakes and how to make it right #stayhumble Also SWEET welding cart!!
Everyone loves that thing, haha. Thanks for your encouragement
@@SnailTrail4x4 For Sure! I met you at the BAMF meet up, gave you a beer and won the gas tank skid.
What’s the total width of this axle from axle flange to axle flange ????

What are you doing, wow

Jesus just weld the damn truss up … heat from the truss is gonna warp the axle? But not all the welds you now have to weld again? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
