@@Northernknives I don't think they got it dailed in yet 57 is to soft... If I'm not mistaken l believe they run s35 59/60 it just seems to defeat the purpose at 57 as far as Elmax that was a ZT thing Custom makers run Elmax at 60 a good bit with no chipping issues... Anyways curious to see how other Oems run there S45 in the future I'm sure custom makers will be running it at 60 and time will tell if it's chippy 👍👊
even if the knife was didn't have that issue, it's worth maybe half that as a reasonable retail price. that stuff is like the male version of a marked up designer handbag for chicks, except the handbag is actually useful and whatnot.
would love to see you guys do this on the s35 as discussed
Bark River knives Just Released a Fixed Blade called North Country EDC 2 in S45Vn. Knives Ship Free still has quite a few in stock if your interested.
We are going to have to snag a few direct then
Let's get a video of your Rockwell testing, sounds like your trending low on your testing and with lots of spread in the test average.
Sure. Dakota will add it to the docket for a video in the future
i had the same experience (chippy steel) with s30 to s45, but a lot of people said it could be burned factory edges.
Interesting
Its almost 100% burnt factory edges. Hand sharpen away. After the 3rd to 6th Sharpening you will get to good steel.
I agree with the suburban wolverine. Why would a company not test the blade first?
Thank you!
57 from CRK on S45vn I'd be pissed! Seeing how 60 Is supposed to be the sweetspot.. 59/61 is what crucible says 👊
We wonder if it chips at higher Rockwell like Elmax does...

Remember it’s just a study of 1 knife.
@@Sharpbevel That is True! 👊
Buck has a new flipper in S45vn
Oh? Dakota may want to snag it
what about cold steel s35vn?
We dont talk about S35V
57 for crk is bullshit , if I’m dropping 450 bucks , I expect better
We think there may be a chipping issue like Elmax does at higher rockwell

S45vn is essentially just crucibles version of xhp. It's almost identical in performance
Where have you seen the testing / stats on that? Would love to take a look
@@Northernknives knife steel nerds put out some good data on it. His graphs are pretty clear
@@Northernknives just kidding. I was thinking about spy27 not s45. My bad.
Sounds like an overhyped overpriced 440C to me. That’s depressing.
CRK claims 60-62
Get out of the way s45vn, here comes magnacut
