Great vlog jof hopefully it will be something simple hopefully ❤ Chris/ Jan
Jof my man we like you had a lot of problems with the last Burstner bad luck was a under statement so we downsized to a Hymer van conversion,I would say it was the worst mistake we had made ,it was like a sardine can no space keeping your head down for the fear of bumping it ,although a panel van has no seams the roof is reinforced with a lot of shapes to seal , we missed it so much that we have gone back to a Burstner 690 harmony line again and totally love it , just take your time and let your mind make its own mind up ,stick with the Burstner
@@ericbird714 taking note Eric thank you 🙏
I’m new to this channel and have subscribed. Ref your engine issues. You definitely have to program your injectors which I’m sure you did not mention. Did the engine run and sound worse. If you are at home and you are not in a hurry it would be cost effective to keep the motor home spend some money on the engine and then you will know it is as good as it can be. Something else could break, a lot of things could happen. Life’s too short get the engine fixed and crack on. Best of luck.
@@brianphelan74 thanks 🙏 Brian, yes we were aware the injectors need programming, although we think this is a very fine tune and should still run hopefully Fiat can get it sorted.
🙏💯
All makes seem to have the possibility to go wrong , with some sort of issue , it's a bit of a lottery as to who gets a problem or not , good luck getting it sorted , look forward to finding out what the issue is
@@davidweston8758 thanks David 🙏💯
Did you recode after the replacement injectors
@@KennyWinton hopefully Kenny will get fiat to recode.🙏
Seen some videos on UA-cam of injectors being replaced. They have numbers on them that have to be entered with a scan tool to tell the ecu they have been changed and to recognise the new numbers.
@@KennyWinton thanks Kenny hopefully they will get it sorted.
Feel for you Jof , ....but wait think before you jump, you love that Burstner its just a blip get it sorted they can all break down , at least you know what you have , take care Chris.
@@Chris-g1l2t cheers Chris 🙏
You could spend a load of money on a new or used vehicle and immediately have issues. You've clearly looked after your vehicle so if the layout still works for you just get the current issue sorted.Good luck
@@GedandMichele thanks 🙏 you’re right it’s a real minefield out there, we just hit a low point, hopefully 🤞 we can pull through.🤞💯🚍
Hi Jof, you’ve found yourself in a right pickle by the sounds of things. I hear so many stories of people jumping ship between manufacturers and ending up with more problems sometimes worse than before. The engine will be fixable as you know, the bigger problem is the water ingress which is probably causing you most concern. Main thing is not to make any rash decisions and panic buy. Hopefully Fiat will remedy the engine problem. Fingers crossed for you. Cheers Shaun.
ps. I’ve had 2 Adrias with no major issues, worth a look at Highbridge if you end up going down that route. 👍🏻
@@RV-zk7zq thanks Shaun appreciate that, just need that total reliability back, that drive back nearly wrecked me..🚍💯🙏
@@MOHOTELADVENTURES I’m sure it did mate, It would to anyone. Take care 💪🏻
Just gone frkm one burstner fiat to another. First one needed a new ecu after 6 years due to water. £600 from fiat to replace, but with moho costs these days a d the only fault in that time, not put off yet. All engine brands at the mercy of electronics these days, including my old harley....take a breath and have a rum x
@@joolsdeb6256 thanks 🙏 mate, hopefully get there in the end 👌🏨🚍💯
I can see you’ve lost your confidence in your motorhome. Last year we had an issue and we were so disappointed in our lovely motorhome, but we’ve had it fixed and back in love with it !
@@juliehill5938 thanks Julie 🙏🚍💯
Older vans are better. Anything Euro6 is trouble.
This van was never designed for Euro 6 that is the problem with this Fiat, I have seen this a few times on this model, it's probably a 2017/18 engine in a 2019 dated van which they have added an EGR valve that should never have been fitted, to get it to meet Euro 6.
Steer clear of the Ford Transit with that wet belt
@@retro423 thanks we’re running out of options..🚍💯
That's good advice,
Disappointed with our Burstner. Just over 2000 miles and has been back to the workshop multiple times. Currently in with DPF issues. Would never have another Fiat Cab! Lost confidence in the motorhome already and the Burstner brand
So sorry to hear this, admitted we love the Burstner bit, our disappointment is with the Fiat, 2000 miles is absolutely nothing totally unacceptable..
I have a 70 plate transit auto work van I don’t carry much weight 38000 miles and drive shaft went now I have 62000 miles I’m getting the spanner light coming on so don’t get a transit my dad runs Mercedes sprinters and they seem ok good luck
@@paulhenson6893 thanks Paul 🙏
Doesnt matter what van you get they all have their niggles and you get good and bad of each one. We have a Westfalia Nugget Plus based on the ford Transit and its the best van we have driven. My step son is a courier a d has driven allsorts and his advice was Fords in their fleet were more reliable and drive better. Everyone has an opinion yes Ford has a wet belt but serviced correctly and using the proper oil change the belt at 60k all should be good. Look how many Transits are on the road their are tons so they cant be that bad. My dad went panel van to MoHo and back again. He had nothing but trouble and found it had too many rattles. He loves his Wildax now. You might end up buying more trouble if you change. Better the devil you know and all that.
@@Moonlightshadw1 we had a transit before the Fiat it was excellent 52k trouble free🚍💯
Christ what an ordeal this has been unfortunately I missed quite a few of your travel this time but got the general picture. Go to a Fiat dealer. At least their work will be guaranteed. Good luck mate.
@@RobertSmith-cv1cu thanks Robert 🙏
Jof. Ford have their issues plenty on YT about those. Mercedes I am sure will have issues all about manufacturers cutting corners saving costs. Lots recommend a Fiat dealer in Portsmouth that is particularly good with your auto box. Maybe the cheap obd readers don’t give specific data and even paying for an hours diagnostic with Fiat will give you better understanding of the issue. Anyway best of luck with your next move.
.
Will run shite without coding injectors, and dont hold your breath with fiat maindealers id look for a local diesel independent specialist
I have no choice but to visit Fiat, just hoping they can diagnose the issue.
Oh dear Jof stop messing around with your van you will do some real damage. You need someone to fit a diagnostic machine and let it point you in the right direction.
We are definitely at that stage now I have just been in to the wiring again checking as much as I know to check..
Until you know what's wrong why jump it could be something simple to fix better the one you know than the one you don't
Thanks Wayne, just a bit of a glitch, although we are feeling like a change of direction, see what maps out..🚍💯🙏
Morning Jof. If the injectors haven’t fixed the fault then try checking your fuse/relay box where the injector relays are located. You may have some water ingress in the box causing an injector fault. I had the same problem on my Audi. All the relays were corroded.
I am not sure where the relay box is located on the Fiat but I recall you mentioned this only started after a storm.
Won’t cost anything to take a look.
@@stemoss2396 that’s exactly where I’m going to dig into next again..👌
I had a problem with my motorhome go to a Bosch centre I went to gee diesels in Nottingham they test everything not just replace it .they sorted it not a problem 👍
Thanks Shaun, hopefully Fiat will shed some light on it and hopefully it won’t be a yellow management light 💡 🤞
All the best there. You'll get it sorted and be back out there soon. You've got your moho all set up as you love it.
@@brianinbrisbane6632 thanks Brian 🤞
Keep your van Jof , just get it sorted mate at fiat 👍
@@GoodnightIrene will get things sorted, see how we feel 🙏💯👌
Hi Jof hold fast and wait to see what fiat say. Then you can make a more informed decision. ❤

Ahh Jof,really difficult decision for you both. Hope it all works out for you. Maybe a MAN or VW converted panel van,I know Adria do one but they are not cheap. Good luck mate 👍

Hi jof when we were next to you at shepton warners show last year we were loving our Motorhome 18 plate elddis . but then water beat us had a couple of re seals done in year 1 and 2 but last year the side was damp found out the window was fitted incorrectly had to have a new interior wall we lost all confidence with it so we have just bought a autotrail van conversion.. sorry your having problems you look after the van so well. Fiat will sort engine but water is the worst best of luck don’t rush into any big decision all the best Dave and Marilyn Locke 😊
@@Davenmar ahh thank you 🙏 Dave great to hear from you, hopefully catch up again at some point in the future best wishes from us 💯🚍🏨👌
I'll try again. When you took off the injector leads to mess around with the injectors you replace them (whichever injector is at fault) and you make a new good connection until the pull on the loom and the vibration opens up the poor connection again. If it isn't this problem, all well and good but if the engine light goes on and off as you wiggle each one in turn you've found the fault which is a cheap fix. Buy a new end for the lead and fit it yourself. If the "wiggle" brings nothing, you've lost nothing. Leave it and you'll never know. It's a common fault on fiat Ducatos and IVECOs.
Many thanks Sue, the plugs on the injectors are in really good condition and they lock in very tight appreciate your information thank you 🙏
@@MOHOTELADVENTURES it's the two brass connections inside the plug. They open up. Still look the same, just don't hold tight against the male on the injector. They may well look shiny and after all you've "cleaned" them with WD40 and they may well be tight and in good condition but it's what is happening inside. It could well be that this isn't the problem but I've changed two of them because of the same symptoms. And I carry a spare just in case. By the way, FIAT Ducato is the "go to" for the whole of Europe.
@@suemartheath what year model was this on?
@@MOHOTELADVENTURES ok. Don't don't try it then.

We feel, for you Jof. We bought a brand new van and after one year we suffered with water ingress . It took our dealer 2 years to find the leak . It’s now sorted under warrenty. I would be fearful of changing it now for fear of buying another load of agro. Ours is on a fiat . So far no problems on that side . In fairness there are horror stories out there from all makes . I hope you get it sorted mate . 👍
@@sallen2779 many thanks, yes can be an absolute minefield.
Just a bit unsure at the moment what is next but either way we have to get it sorted out before we make a decision.
We are feeling like a change in direction..🙏
Hi I have run fiats for 12 years always been good everyone raves about Mercedes but they are not what they used to be. We have just ordered a new one which is fiat again.
How often do you change Martin?
The problem with van conversions they have little floor space 😑
@@richardwatts9093 yes, we are thinking about a total revamp on equipment and things we take etc see what happens.. thanks for your comment Richard 👌
Mate have you coded the new injectors in ?
@@antonymoore1338 not yet Ant by all accounts it should still run, but a think we have not got to the issue.🙏
What else on the fiat side gone wrong apart from the engine light?
@@sidpf1972 nothing it’s been excellent up to now.🚍💯
I have a 680g which I love & planned to keep & then I found a pin hole to the cam cover case that leaks oil that cannot be fixed , time to find something else and as you a change of direction 💁🏿♂️
@@richardwatts9093 that’s terrible Richard, this kind of thing is so bad, we see what happens with our one either way I have to get it fixed.
Richard if accessible clean the leak area with brake cleaner, let it dry then make up a bit of JB weld and stick some around the hole. Leave overnight before you start the engine.
Thank you the idea , I have done that but due to it being on a high pressure area the JB weld bubbles and it leaks again 🤷♂️
@@jimb7406 doesn’t work the oil just bubbles the JB weld and it leaks again as it’s under such high pressure
Feel your pain and anxiety! 😢 Hope you get it sorted successfully and without too much expense.
