Hey.! That was cool... I also made a bridge in my freshman year. However the bridge we build here are smaller in size and we test them by heavy weights . And the rule is that every bridge must be a suspension bridge. Well... by the way its a competition that held every year in my collage :)
The first one has a critical mistake in its design- there are primary members that won't be activated because there is no rotational restraint at the end supports. The second one is a good minimal design that addresses the main forces. The third one is a straightforward design but would not be as efficient as the second. The fourth one addresses the forces well and appears to be very stiff. The fifth one again makes a mistake by trying to use end rotational restraint that isn't there. The sixth one is a basic truss and will work well if they have executed the joint connections well. It's also going to be very stiff. The last one has a critical design error by not bracing 2 of the truss panels, when they load it you can see excessive local deflection across these 2 panels. Overall though it looks like a lot of fun.
The weak link was the thin board. The solution is to distribute its brittle surface across as many contact points as possible. That means a latticework. The trestle bridge came close.
That's the best way to learn civil engineering!
I feel like the last students failed the class.
I feel so nervous whenever someone's about to cross the bridge 😂😂😂
Same here 😂
its best to feel working of different trusses👏👍
Man I am so excited to take civil engineering and architecture!
me too
Same

Which college I am going to join a college soon can you leave a good tip.
thats a greatest work how the various deflections and the types of bridges, that too in a technical form,,,great guys
3:15 .. i'd say given the amount of material that was used, they had the best design in terms of being able to support the three of em
GrodyMaroon effectivement
i agree
asians of course

Thank you for posting this it was a lot of fun to watch :)
this is not a joking
This is really neat to see!
That's the best way to learn civil engineering! 🧡Love you All 🧡
We agree!
1:26 Are those people for real with that "bridge"?
ranker4 simple yet effective
@grogdizzy not really efficient coz you'll need a lot of materials there more than the other bridge designs
Looks like a coffin.
@@coolcrudude4833 well, you have to think about the budget too
@@coolcrudude4833 i agree on that
Helpful video for civil engineering students
Exactly what I needed for a class project. But a scaled down version
Wow structure analysis so impressed
good idea
I need a class like this. Too bad, I am in a community college.
Masha allah good engineering

Good work guys
nzuri sana hii
Damn that was cool
What a idea . like very much
nicee
That was so cool lol
I would love to see the brief for this project as well.
What kind of wood they use, and how the connect them?
Are these bridges just inverted truss?
i feel nervous when the first person reaches at the centre
did the last "bridge" brake ?
It would've with 4 dudes on it lol
Soo much potential liability for injury with this method of testing... if the bridge fails someone could get a wood spike through their stomach!!!!
You are over thinking. Our body is not that soft.
good
The best way of C.E. learning is to do your best because you risk your own life. I just wonder what happened to the last bridge.
Fiu should look at this video on how to build a bridge
Hello sir
What is How many bricks are there in 100cft
hi want to make this in my final year project how can i start
Last one broke for sure
hi there, i wanna know the dimensions?
What is this class call?
These bridges pass due to the last part when all personal involved in building a bridge standing on it holds if not they all eat it for lunch
which university they are in?
Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT)
I had a bad feeling about d last group
Some good targets for the mechanical engineers to destroy
Is this college or high school
College
Yah them last kids have still not learned squares aren't very strong.
the last one is budget friendly but harmful
Why aren't the girls doing civil engineering?
wall subscrib isar
Won't some killjoy from the council be banning this soon?
where are females
