Apparently the reason why Lucifer is obsessed with ducks is because he sees the other angels as swans and himself as an ' ugly duckling ' 🦆👑 I love him! 😁
I love the symbolism when the angels aim their spears at Lucifer; his face just says, “Okay, here we go again,” but the next scene, when the spears are aimed at Charlie, that’s fear. He’s fine with himself being the target because, as he knows he's the most hated being in all of creation, he’s used to it.
Fun fact (that many people already know): All of the seven deadly sins in this interpretation of hell are based off circus acts (like Beelzebub being the animal tamer), while Lucifer, the deadly sin of pride, is the ringmaster.
They also have some modern interpretations that match their sins perfectly. Beelzebub loves partying and making sure everyone has a good time so everyone's content with consuming (if people are depressed or unhappy, they often lose their appetites). Asmodeus believes in natural love but hates the use of love potion, rough love and rape as that's more wrathful. Mammon is a scam artist and exploitive of his performers making him the perfect symbol of greed.
Fun fact in the italian version, when niffty say "i clean" they added a joke,in italian she say "io scopo" that means "i clean(the floor)" but also "I fuck" in a more "rude" way
Love how Luci's attitude goes from "this man is trying to pull moves on my daughter" to "oh thank god my daughter likes girls" THEN TO "OH THIS MAN IS TRYING TO STEAL MY SPOT". I'm both impressed that Alastor is actively trying to piss off the Devil HIMSELF. 😂 "You could almost call me Dad...". I know this is Hell, but that was one hell of a burn.

Lucifer was cast to hell for gifting humanity free will, and as a result, never saw the good in humanity, and only the bad. Because only sinners were sent to hell. So his line about calling "their people" awful hits double hard because he feels like his gift to them, that got him cast down from heaven, was for nothing. This lead to a big part of his depression, for sure. Edit: More than Anything is my favorite song from the album. So glad to see others enjoy it as well :D
It's not that he gave them free will and was cast to hell because of it, rather he was cast to hell for allowing evil to seep into the world as a biproduct of Eve eating the apple. Rewatch the intro. Weirdly, this show mixes up the free will thing in a confusing way, as humans already had it prior to the apple, hence why Adam and Even were able to disobey god in the first place by eating the apple.
That is a truly awful punishment, seeing what thousands or even millions have done with his gift, and never getting to see the good part of what he gave them. Every person who got themselves out of a bad situation, anyone who stood up to a bully, anyone who broke the mold and made amazing art, scientific breakthroughs, are all possible because of Lucifer, but he’ll never know.
My theory for the ducks is that he was fixated on the moment Charlie first laid eyes on one of his creations, the part where she sneaked in while he was working, and so he held on to that memory of her smile despite being estranged for a long time. There's also that line he sings, "I've missed that smile."
I love how your mom was singing along to "More Than Anything." The way she hugs you while Lucifer sings "I'm greatful you're my daughter" is adorable. Also, 14:02 That gold fiddle is a reference to the song "The Devil Went Down To Georgia." Also,

"Why doesn't she (Charlie) reach out to him more (Lucifer)?" - Not-So-Average-Mom That's an interesting question. When you think about it, Charlie has been a VERY poor judge of character with EVERYONE. She took Angel in because she thought he wanted redemption when Angel was only (at least initially) seeking shelter from Valentino. She took Sir Pentious in with the same assumption, who was sent there to spy on them. Again, at least initially. She took Alastor in without questions and it is extremely clear that Alastor too has ulterior motives. She approached Adam with sincerity and good will who only took the meeting as an excuse to look for the angel they lost on the previous extermination. She suspected her dad to be against her, this was evident even in the pilot where she sais something along the line of "...Maybe dad was right about me". Even with Vaggie she was completely oblivious on her true character. Charlie has a 0% accuracy rate record on her character judgement record. Yet she believes her mom to be her ally, when she initially believed her dad to be an obstacle? I have a strong feeling she's wrong about her mom too.
I think she’s right about Angel and Pentious, though. In the comic, she argues with Vaggie about him-“this one’s good”- and she’s not wrong. I don’t think she was wrong about Adam himself, but she thought she’d be talking to a reasonable person, which, nope. Oh, well. Alastor…remains to be seen. But where Lucifer’s concerned, Mommy seems to have taken her away, and she’s grown up believing everything Lilith says. It doesn’t occur to her that the reason Lucifer “only calls when he wants something” because he can’t handle the rejection of her not wanting to talk to him. His room is FILLED with pictures of her and Lilith, and I think he’s still wearing his wedding band. Who knows what actually happened there? (And yes, I’ve seen the end, but I don’t want to spoil anything, and besides, I don’t think it explains anything).
@@professorbutters You seem to be completely misunderstanding me. I was talking about initial expressions and expectations. How can you say she was right about Sir Pentious when he was caught red handed installing spyware around the house? The entire song of "It starts with sorry" kinda loses its entire meaning if Sir Pentious didn't have ill intent at first. Angel demonstrates and states directly at multiple moments where he initially did not believe in the possibility of a redemption. It is unknown if he believes in the concept even at the end of episode 8 yet. As for Lucifer, you can't really argue that she wasn't wrong about her dad because she was deprived from his presence by Lilith. The reason WHY she has a wrong impression of her dad is irrelevant from the question if she does have a wrong impression of her dad, which you admit yourself that yes, she did have the wrong impression of her dad.
It's a classic case of communication breakdown, and probably a bit of Lilith's involvement as well. We know they split up, and let's face it; when parents divorce, they have a tendency to trash-talk the other parent, intentionally or otherwise. So Charlie probably assumed that her dad didn't want to hear from her, and being the kind, self-sacrificing (and slightly ditzy) soul that she is, chose to let herself get hurt rather than invade his privacy. Meanwhile, Lucifer's on the other side, depressed and without any hope. He 'lost' his daughter as part of the divorce, most likely, and he simply doesn't know how to reach out to her. It's only in this episode when they finally get a chance to actually talk, actually communicate, that they find out 'the apple doesn't fall far' and they have far more in common than either of them realized.
@@peterbear4413 All fights and conflicts from my experience are a result of information breakdown one way, or another. But you very well might be correct.
Makes sense. Lucifer could smite him with a wave of the hand. He doesn't like not being the strongest(willing to use their strength) person in the room
That instance with Lucifer and the violin is actually a reference to the Charlie Daniels, “The devil went down to Georgia”. The reference makes more sense if you look at it as the golden fiddle that he laid on the ground at Johnny’s feet…
"More than anything" This Song by Lucifer and his daughter Charlie brought me to tears from first time until now. Hell has 10000 year of pentagram city. Charlie's Canon age is 200 years. #Theory Charlie wasn't first children of Lilith and Lucifer but they all born death. @LadySygerrik Some stories of Lilith have her cursed with the inability to have children, with all of hers being either born dead or dying shortly after being born. It could be Charlie isn't their first child, just the first one to survive. @Valentino simp If we learned anything from Helluva Boss, it's that Viv love morbid backstories soooo
Omg stooooop!😭 That would be so heartbreaking especially for me cause I was supposed to have an older sister but she died shortly after being born due to both complications with being high risk and also being born to early
There's a chance that Nifty was an Overlord too. First, we saw Nifty and Husk beside Alastor during the Pilot's Overlord sequence. Since they're darken out, it could represent how they used to be overlords, but now serve Alistair. and after seeing how crazy and insane she is, she might also be crazy for power.
I’m not too sure, Niffty just seems like some gremlin Alastor meet one day, the two hit it off. Plus I don’t see her as the type to be dealing in souls
Aggressive fiddle. The Devil Came Down to Georgia is just beautiful to listen to, if not more so hilarious as we'd see in a classic slapstick cartoon. However. "More Than Anything" still hits strongly on an emotional level!
I don’t think he was a kid cause there wouldn’t be much point in creating an immortal being as a child just for them to grow up. You would want someone mature(ish in lucifers case). It could be that though 🤷♂️
I saw a little comic on Reddit, it was St. Michael and Lucifer in heaven coming up with the duck colors, Lucifer with a black, gray, white scheme and Michael with the standard duck color scheme we know today, After Lucifer was cast to hell, St. Michael made the swan in honor of lucifer, with the last few panels of the comic saying something along the lines of "And while we were ugly ducks, " "He grew into a beautiful swan. "
@@AHorrorFanaticI'm pretty sure that Melkor was based off of Lucifer because Tolkien was a religious man and wanted to encorporate his inspirations into his works.
Lucifer is the best dad! The reason why he doesn't contact Charlie as much is because he feels like a failure of father and charlie don't wanna see him also and the way Lillith pulled charlie away from lucifer in that flashback..shows lillith didn't give much time with her father.
Yeah. It's really possible that it was Lilith's choice to take Charlie out of Lucifer's life and not his, which would make him feel powerless in the situation, reminding him of when he was cast out of Heaven
Also his choice regarding the exterminations probably had something to do with their rift. But Charlie's interpretation of it is wrong. He was only able to save hellborns like his daughter from Heaven's decision to come down and cull sinners.
It still baffles me how they can take the most evil being known to mankind and turn him into an awkward dad that loves his daughter and rubber ducks. (I'm Christian and I still adore this show.)
I have my own thoughts regarding the most evil being in Christianity (or any other Abrahamic religion). 👀 (I'm an atheist and I agree that the show is pretty neat, but Amazon could've given Viv time for a couple more episodes.)
I don't know if me or anyone said this before...but you look so much like your mother, Elijah! You got the same hair, same dazzling smile, same spirit and same giddy sense of humor
I just recently got my mom to binge the series, she surprisingly liked it. She usually doesn't watch adult animated shows, so it was pretty cool that she ended up liking it.
19:42: Lucifer is not being mean, he's just trying to fill Charlie in on what she doesn't understand from a lack of experience. Charlie has a very fairy tale interpretation of what heaven is like, while Lucifer actually knows from personal experience because he has lived there and knows for a fact that what Charlie imagines having to be like is not necessarily true.
Lucifer knew about vaggie being an Angel, and you can tell he knew when he looked for her halo when they were meeting. And vaggie covered her missing eye when he looked, and he did look worried*
I went back and looked for that a few times, because I like the idea, but I didn’t see it. You’d think if his daughter was dating an angel and he could tell, he’d say something about it.
Believe me. It's amazing to see you watch the show as you have an other interpretation as your daughter. You are also very funn to listen to and I love the outfits you wear! The one from episode 1 was AMAZING
Lucifer and Charlie where in Lucifer's Lulu World. In Pride ring In Helluva boss season 1 episode 2 Actavia was talking about it. Mammon has his own rip off Loo loo land.
Honestly, watching your mom is like a boost of serotonin. I love how supportive she is and I wish my mom was as sweet and as supportive. Watching Mama NSAF honestly makes me cry sometimes because she's just so awesome and Mom goals. I love watching her reactions and I'm so happy you have a mom who's so invested and supportive of you. Mine... Mine doesn't know I'm LGBTQ and I'm the youngest yet she invests more in my siblings and has essentially allowed an emotionally and mentally abusive situation to continue for ten years with a sibling towards me and I'm just expected to be quiet and let my other siblings be taken care of and just figure things out on my own. She definitely doesn't share my interests and its pretty lonely. But seeing you and your mom makes me happy. Bless you both.
I think its funny that everyone is judging lucifer for not calling charlie, but not charlie for never calling lucifer. "Well this is the first time she's called you in years"
I felt the same way like Charlie. Everytime my dad called, i just straight up went "What do you need." cause i knew that he wouldn't call me if he just wanted to ask me how i was, so why would i do the same thing for him. Its a waste watering a flower thats dead, all you can do is use it as a fertilizer.
The fact that Cherri is even on the tumbler when your mom hasn’t seen her I the show makes it so much better, also this is one of my favorite episodes!

Still flashed about the fact how Lucifer is not what we expected from the King of Hell. You imagine the devil himself 😈 as sinister, cruel and evil, and actually he's just a depressed, insecure, but loving dad with an opsession with ducks. We stan our short king! 😎
When Lucifer's and Alistair's song comes on, and Lucifer gets so fed up he pulls out a "violin", he actually pulls out a fiddle, and it's a reference to the song "Devil Went Down To Georgia". The devil is know for his talent in fiddle playing, it's not a violin 🤣

Probably already said, but that’s actually a fiddle, not a violin. It’s a reference to the song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by the Charlie Daniels band, which is also how Charlie got her name

@@Caldera01Yeah, I think we’re more talking past each other than disagreeing.
"the ducks name is depression?" i love her
Alastor wasn't just greatly offended by Husk's questioning of him being "on a leash," but he also feels threatened by Lucifer's very presence too. 🤔
Makes sense. Lucifer could smite him with a wave of the hand. He doesn't like not being the strongest(willing to use their strength) person in the room
Ahh ur mom is so cute!!😭 I love herrr!! I also love her being so invested in the loree😔😔.... Ur very lucky to have her as ur mom>:0🤗
After Hazbin you got to show her Helluva Boss
FR
I think she would die
That instance with Lucifer and the violin is actually a reference to the Charlie Daniels, “The devil went down to Georgia”. The reference makes more sense if you look at it as the golden fiddle that he laid on the ground at Johnny’s feet…
"More than anything" This Song by Lucifer and his daughter Charlie brought me to tears from first time until now.
Hell has 10000 year of pentagram city.
Charlie's Canon age is 200 years.
#Theory
Charlie wasn't first children of Lilith and Lucifer but they all born death.
@LadySygerrik
Some stories of Lilith have her cursed with the inability to have children, with all of hers being either born dead or dying shortly after being born. It could be Charlie isn't their first child, just the first one to survive.
@Valentino simp
If we learned anything from Helluva Boss, it's that Viv love morbid backstories soooo
Valentino simp?
@@endgamer7896 LadySygerrik and Valentino simp are guys from reddit conversation.
ah ok@@adriankuban2904
Omg stooooop!😭 That would be so heartbreaking especially for me cause I was supposed to have an older sister but she died shortly after being born due to both complications with being high risk and also being born to early
@@LauklynGorena That so sad I am so so sorry. 😨😰😓😥😭😭😭
Whoa
I’m not too sure, Niffty just seems like some gremlin Alastor meet one day, the two hit it off. Plus I don’t see her as the type to be dealing in souls
Aggressive fiddle. The Devil Came Down to Georgia is just beautiful to listen to, if not more so hilarious as we'd see in a classic slapstick cartoon.
However. "More Than Anything" still hits strongly on an emotional level!
I love that song!
It is a Golden Fiddle. Maybe h😢 hasn't met Jonny yet.
awww Elijah's mom's shoutout was so cuteeeeee! seriously made my day!
Imagine Lucifer created ducks when he was an angel or kid and now it’s his favourite creation 🙃
Michael made the swan in honor of lucifer, with the last few panels of the comic saying something along the lines of
"And while we were ugly ducks, "
"He grew into a beautiful swan. "
What if it was the only thing he was allowed to create for Earth before being sent to hell so he's constantly reimagining it
That kindof makes me think of a less evil Melkor, as he was also alowed to create certen elements.
@@AHorrorFanaticI'm pretty sure that Melkor was based off of Lucifer because Tolkien was a religious man and wanted to encorporate his inspirations into his works.
I love when your mom reacts, Elijah! I think she’d love “Helluva Boss” too.
Mimzy!
Mimzy?
Mimzy.
Susan?
Susan.
Best interaction EVER.
14:55
14:07 the golden violin is actually iconic. There is a song where he bet a fiddle of gold against a young man's soul. There are at least 3 versions.
Eh
Also his choice regarding the exterminations probably had something to do with their rift. But Charlie's interpretation of it is wrong. He was only able to save hellborns like his daughter from Heaven's decision to come down and cull sinners.
@@JackSimpson2077His face when Lilith took her away says it all.
Always a treat watching these reactions of both Elijah and her fantastic mother!! Plus, it’s always a bonus rewatching this masterpiece of a show!!
It still baffles me how they can take the most evil being known to mankind and turn him into an awkward dad that loves his daughter and rubber ducks. (I'm Christian and I still adore this show.)
the duality of humanity 😂
SAME BRUH😊
I think Satan will fill that role better. He's the deadly sin of Wrath and apparently fits the more traditional idea of the devil.
I have my own thoughts regarding the most evil being in Christianity (or any other Abrahamic religion). 👀
(I'm an atheist and I agree that the show is pretty neat, but Amazon could've given Viv time for a couple more episodes.)
@@Darth_Niki4Agreed! There's one being in the Bible/Torah/Quran that kills more humans than any other, and it's not Lucifer...
At 14:56 the Susan reference 😂 “mimsy?” “mimsy” 😂
I don't know if me or anyone said this before...but you look so much like your mother, Elijah! You got the same hair, same dazzling smile, same spirit and same giddy sense of humor
22:06
This scene shows that apple doesn't fall far from a tree
Alastor immediately starting a pissing contest with Lucifer is still one of the best things to come out of this show.
can we just take a minute to say how amazing and supportive your mom is. she is so sweet and is best mom already.
Eh no
I went back and looked for that a few times, because I like the idea, but I didn’t see it. You’d think if his daughter was dating an angel and he could tell, he’d say something about it.
Lucifer and Charlie singing Anything you want” 24:50 it was an cute daddy and daughter moment 😍😍😍
Doesn't matter how much Lucifer speaks, no matter what he says. I can still hear Varian in him. His days with Rapunzel never left him.
Suprising i love that character but i don't hear it.
Tbh Charlie sounds more like Rapunzel than Lucifer sounds like Varian even though Charlies VA isn't even the same one x'D
Aw, I love that she already knows the words bc Elijah’s been playing it on repeat (like all of us 😂)
She is so endearing and sweet - omg. Her heart and spirit are so warm, it's contagious. 🥰🩷
OMG THE TUMBLER!!!! thats so cute!! and I love to see both your reactions to the show Im so glad Elijah brought you on to react to the show!
I CAME AS FAST AS I COULD, MAMA NSAF (nickname for your mom) IS GOING TO LOVE HIM!!
Believe me. It's amazing to see you watch the show as you have an other interpretation as your daughter. You are also very funn to listen to and I love the outfits you wear! The one from episode 1 was AMAZING
Lucifer and Charlie where in Lucifer's Lulu World. In Pride ring
In Helluva boss season 1 episode 2 Actavia was talking about it.
Mammon has his own rip off Loo loo land.
Your mom is so sweet! She sounds like an angel, your so lucky to have an amazing mother like her! 💖
Love that mom is holding an angel plush in the thumbnail 😊 💕
i love your mom shes so humble
Mimzy is voiced by the same person who voices Spinel in Steven Universe
Mammalijah's lipstick looks as gorgeous as always and she's owning that so well
Really interesting fact that Lucifer was looking for Vaggie nimb, and after he didn't find it, he was like: 0_0
I think its funny that everyone is judging lucifer for not calling charlie, but not charlie for never calling lucifer.
"Well this is the first time she's called you in years"
It's a parent's responsibility to try to be part of their kid's life, not the other way around.
I've been in her shoes. The father/parent has that primary responsibility no matter what. Dont bring in life to this world only just to neglect them.
Still love that fiddle made of gold he bet against little Jonny's soul
Ahhhhh I love your mom ❤❤❤ she’s so nice!!!
My favourite part of more than anything is Lucifer throws his dreams to the ground Carlie picks up his dreams and make him believe again
Ur mom loves Angel. That's adorable❤
5:54 True. I have mom and dad issues. My dad actually isn’t alive anymore, so “TAKE THAT DEPRESSION” Lucifer is a mood. 6:37 True. 8:42 Lucifer is Meant to represent the sin of Pride. 8:49 So god. Every time I hear the name Lucifer, like bf this show. I thought of the cat From. Cinderella, The Disney movie. 13:28 I got “Never had a friend like me” I think Vivzy or Jermey Said That They took inspiration from Never had a friend like me. 26:02 Pentious Is me.
The hug you guys shared during "More Than Anything" warmed my heart. Now if you'll excuse me, I am going to go get hugs from my daughter & son.❤
Glad you like it
Elijah is the luckiest person ever for how nice and supportive her mom is💛
Love this reaction!!! (AND THE HAZBIN HOTEL CUP 😂😍💖✨️)
Edit: For Elijah, you and your dogs should throw a Hazbin themed party for your mama!! She'd love that!! (And get a Niffty cake 😂😊❤)
I almost didn't notice it was her mom at the intro.😂
Some people say: "Charlie knew Vaggie was an angle first..." "*Lucifer looking for Vaggies halo*"
The two of you have such an inspiring relationship with each other.
Your mom looks so beautiful and gorgeous, Elijah!!! You two look like sisters!!!
Aww, i wish my parents were as supportive as your mother, my dad thinks he can use the fact im bullied to get me out of what i love to a personal level. I wish my family was like your mother, and for your mother, i wanna say your such a amazing mother and you seem like your tumblers and such seem amazing from how you describe it.
It makes me so sad that they don't contact each other because both of them think the other wants nothing to do with them😭
I love that your mom already knows all the songs XD also, omg that lip stick, it's so hard to find one that actually LASTS the whole day. Might have to look into that one even though I'm not that big on makeup myself. Y'all are so cute, can't wait to see the next one ^.^
Probably already said, but that’s actually a fiddle, not a violin. It’s a reference to the song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by the Charlie Daniels band, which is also how Charlie got her name
Not to be confused with The Devil Went To Jamaica.
You're correct, it is a fiddle. She's also correct when she calls it a violin. They're the same instrument.
I love how she's always just smiling and nodding straight at the camera while Elijah does her intro.
