Fun fact!: The reason why lucifer loves ducks is because he sees himself as the "ugly duckling" as well as in his dreams he's a swan :))
That’s not fun, that’s sad
ive seen elsewhere that its because of the devil and the duck story
When he is really handsome
@@mishkamushka Someone else also suggested that it might be a reference to the Veggie Tales episode King George and the Ducky.
It might also be a reference to Dante’s inferno, Lucifer bully’s and taunts Dante via a shade, but he is really frozen in his own tears because he hates being banished

ive seen a lot of people miss this, but the reason lucifer is all “sinners are horrible and cant change” isnt because hes depressed, its because in the story of hell in episode 1 charlie says that heaven made it so lucifer couldnt see the good that came from humanity, only the cruel. so he is physically UNABLE to see sinners as good people
Ahh I didn't realise that! Thanks for pointing it out!!!
Considering that in the song we learned that Charlie got her ideas from him I think it just meant that he coun't see any good that came from humanity as in he was trapped in hell. Which is also suported by the line that he can't be with her. I think he litterly can't leave hell where all the bad people are and therefore only see the bad in humanity
I don't think he's physically unable. It's not like they cursed him. It's just because he lives in ACTUAL HELL. All he knows about humanity is what he sees there. He sees the Valentinos and Alasters of humanity.
@@SwordTuneat least Charlie can help him see the Angel Dusts and Pentious...es?
No, it's because most of the worst people go to hell. Not just casual sinners.
I honestly feel like the "YOU LIKE GIRLS?? SO DO I!" line, while being kinda triggering, was also kinda cute/sad in this context because it shows how desperate Lucifer is to relate to Charlie about literally anything.
Plus that line was featured in several fan arts before this series started
I love that line xD it was funny
Only snowflakes guys are triggered
Oh definitely. I find it to be very cute and desperate. ☺️
I’m confused, how is it triggering?
Jeremy’s voice almost makes me cry because it’s so beautiful like I’ve been a fan of him for years now and I still get shocked by his voice like how is he so good
I honestly don’t know what made me laugh more: Lucifer’s way of answering Charlie’s call, or your reaction to it 😂😂😂
Alastor’s first curse 😂 You can just hear the annoyance in the “F” and the “K”
The fact he said that to *Lucifer* is absolutely hilarious to me

When Alastor swears, you know he's pissed. And the venom he puts behind it is even more hilarious. Also, I never thought Lucifer would be so lovable or relatable. Given how many A-hole dads Vivienne has made, I was really expecting him to be another example. But no, he's a socially awkward goofball. You can tell he cares about Charlie and he's really trying to connect with and protect her.
It kind of reminds me of Doofenshmirtz trying to connect with Vanessa.

@@poison_roses my whole life is a lie…
My theory for the ducks is that he was fixated on the moment Charlie first laid eyes on one of his creations, the part where she sneaked in while he was working, and so he held on to that memory of her smile despite being estranged for a long time. There's also that line he sings, "I've missed that smile."
8:28 I love the fact that she’s dying laughing. It got me wheezing😂
Her laugh is so contagious
Personally, I think Alastor's frustration towards Lucifer could be partly fueled by him being unpleasantly reminded that he is again not always the most powerful person in the room. He likes being on top at all times and any challenge to that always bothers him.
I thought it was because Lucifer wasn't supporting Charlie and the hotel which is why he was pushing the fact he was a better father figure then him because at the end when Charlie and lucifer was doing their song Allistor was acting normal again.
@@sammyjaohnson5631 because he most likely wants to be at the top of emotional support as well, to be able to hold onto something over the Devil himself
@@sammyjaohnson5631 I mean yeah, but he only used that to bother Lucifer because he can't beat him in power. So it was a desperate way to assert dominance or something like that lol.

@@lynxlikestodraw2656 yeah but if he were to hurt anyone dear to Charlie I'm sure his guts would end up as wall decorations
Not my theory, but someone said Lucifer’s obsession with rubber ducks is a metaphor for him being Heaven’s “ugly duckling.”
Ha, I love that! That's brilliant.
My theory is he's a fan of Kurzgesagt and that's why he's filled with existential dread.

I really don't think Mimzy's right about Alastor, the scene right after she calls him a softie immediately illustrates how he's not, she clearly thinks she's got him figured out, but in the end he doesen't react the way she expects. He may be fond of her, he may even have a soft side, but he's no softie, and he definitely does not care for Charlie as a daughter.
Yes! That’s exactly how I feel, he’s playing an act for everyone, making him seem much more approachable than he actually is. Getting people close, getting them to trust him, thinking that he somehow actually could care, underneath all the spooky, scary stuff. That’s what makes him so dangerous, is how charismatic and well mannered he’s able to present himself as, that it’ll be too late when you realize it was just manipulation the entire time and he is actually the sadistic, unfeeling monster you were afraid he was going be from the start
@@ghostlyexe Not sure if anyone watching this is familiar with Once Upon a Time, but he's giving off major Rumpelstiltskin vibes. Makes Faustian deals to trap people and strengthen his own powers, serial killing, occasionally emotionally manipulating others into thinking he's caring when he's really just using them?? Not sure what that archetype is called but I love it.
This exactly, Alastor is definitely not a “sweetie”, he’s multifaceted, and is likely capable of generosity (probably only towards people who are particularly special like Mimsy, and even then there are limits), and while he may not end up being the major antagonist he’s certainly an antagonist
I agree I don't think he cares for Charlie as a "daughter" per say, but I think he has some form of liking and/or fondness of charlie, when he smiles when she's singing and when he protects the hotel from the loan sharks
Oh, definitely not. That man is NOT a sweetheart. He’s a manipulative powerhouse, 100% down to any form of violence. I’m willing to bet money that he never wanted kids, as well. 😂 He’s just salty because he’s been there this entire time, but Lucifer has now popped up to help.

its so cringe tho ngl
Not just that, Lucy was overjoyed that Alastor wasn't f-ing his daughter.
Considering how a lot of parents react to their kid coming out, I'll take a cringy joke any day
I like Luci's little "told you so" speech while everything is falling apart around him because thats the sin he represents, pride, except for so long he's had nothing to be proud of, so the only prideful moments he has are these sad, petty things. He feels vindicated when his awful, depressed outlook on life is proven right. It's really sad.
He's had Charlie and Lilith to be proud of. The amunt of pride he must feel must be so utterly incalculable that even he himself can barely stand beign around his own daughter.
@amanofnoreputation2164 yeah, key word being *had* tho. During more than anything, when we see the depiction of Luci and Lilith's split, not only does he lose his wife, but his daughter is pulled away from him. His life feels empty without them in a kingdom he never meant to create and only feels a moral obligation to rule. It's not his pride but his deepest shame, yet he takes the level of responsibility for it that he does to protect his daughter.

The reason Alastor immediately has antipathy towards Lilith is simple; Alastor's long-term goal is to move into Charlie's life, gain her trust, and become her primary (and eventually only) mentor figure, so he can steer Charlie's power to his purposes. This was a plan working just fine so long as Charlie's real father was absent from her life, but him suddenly showing up again and trying to reconnect is something that Alastor needs to spike if he can... and unlike everybody else Lucifer simply cannot be threatened or intimidated because he's /vastly/ more powerful than Alastor, something Alastor is not used to dealing with and hates having to deal with. Hence the rare moment of Alastor losing his cool... he had entirely lost control over the situation, and that's Alastor's rage button. It's also why he flips out when Husk throws Alastor's being on a leash in his face; it was another reminder of how in control Alastor actually wasn't.
It's also why Alastor went out of his way to project so much stepdad energy a few minutes later despite not really feeling that way at all - Alastor had figured out that Lucifer's main vulnerability was his insecurity about his relationship with his daughter, and once he was finally given a weak point to strike at - a way to get at least some control of the situation back - he went at it with everything he had.
The reason Lucifer starts out trying to stop Charlie from following her dream is simple - he tried the same idea himself once and it destroyed his life and condemned him to thousands of years of torment. Lucifer wants Charlie to walk away from her hopes by her own decision because he sees that as the merciful alternative to having her continue on a collision course with Heaven and be forcibly crushed and broken like he was.
Over the course of "More Than Anything" Lucifer changes his decision not because he thinks Charlie can succeed, but because he's been confronted with the fact that if Charlie ever chose to give up on her own then she /wouldn't be Charlie/, and that he has no choice but to let his now-adult daughter start facing adult risks. So he goes all-in on on supporting her, at least hoping that him being there to catch her when she falls will mean her story doesn't end as horribly as his did. Later in the season his opinion may evolve further, but that's where Lucifer is as of the end of this episode.

Fun fact about this episode, in the Brazilian Portuguese version instead of a direct translation of "Take that, depression!" Lucifer says "Hashtag chupa depressão!", or "Hashtag suck it depression!" which is just such a hilariously dad thing to say and I love it.

@@jeffmadmastermind3907 eu acho as música da dublagem de hazbin hotel muito boas tbm,tem algumas mais ou menos, mas nenhuma é ruim
I just want to point out something Morgan said in their reaction. They mentioned that Alastor isn’t against showing off his power to intimidate people, but with Lucifer he doesn’t flex his power, he flexes his relationship with Charlie, most likely meaning that he knows he can’t overpower Lucifer. Which raises the question: if Alastor is THAT strong, how powerful is Lucifer?
I mean, Alastor is one of the most powerful Overlords, but Overlords themselves are relatively far down on the overall power rankings in Hell.
Above Overlords are the Ars Goetia and other Hellborn demon royalty. Then above them are 6 of the 7 Deadly Sins (Asmodeus, Beelzebub, Mammon, Satan, Belphagor, & Leviathan). Above them are Charlie and Lilith (*corrected), and at the very top is Lucifer.
So, Lucifer is about 4 levels above Alastor, in terms of power, and could undoubtedly crush him like a bug, if he were so inclined. Plus, he’s still an angel, even if fallen, and so he could likely permanently erase any demon he wanted to, just like the Exorcist angels.
Luckily for Alastor, though, Lucifer doesn’t seem inclined to flex his power like that, or be a tyrant who kills anyone who annoys him.
@@TheNitpickChickCharlie is stronger then lilith
@@TheNitpickChickIn the spirit of your name, I've come to point something out. Charlie and Lillith were put on the same tier, and I can't seem to find anything that would imply one is stronger than the other. One can infer Lillith has the advantage due to thousands of years of experience over Charlie given how Charlie is stated to be around 200 years old (Physically in her 20s). But given her Half Fallen Angel Half Demon Physiology, I have zero doubt she'll surpass her parents in raw power. But as it stands she is comparable to Lillith. But I agree with everything Else, Alistor is multiple Tiers below Lucifer. It was said that it goes:
Lucifer
Charlie and Lillith
6 Other Sins
Ars Goetia and other Demon Royalty
Overlords
Sinners
Hellborn (Like Chaz, The Loansharks, Succubi and Incubi like Verosika) and finally Imps and Hellhounds are at the bottom rung.
@@TheNitpickChickaccording to Vivziepop’s “scale of power” Lilith and Charlie are both second in power only to Lucifer, so Charlie has to be at least as strong as her mother, whether that’s due to her dual-heritage as being the child of a Fallen Angel and the Queen of Hell (I’m not sure if Lilith counts as a Sinner or not because otherwise Sinners are pretty damned low on the power-scale, being above only the Hell-born Imps and Hellhounds. So however strong we think Lilith might be, I’m certain Charlie can match her

Yeah, reviewers seem to be taking Alastor a bit too much at face value. His interaction with Husk makes it pretty clear that he's not a nice person. Either he felt threatened by someone who could call out his manipulation and couldn't be intimidated silent, or he's got his own mysterious beef with Lucifer in specific. 23:05 "our people are AWFUL!"
If you remember, in the story in episode 1, they say that because Lucifer was cast into hell, he never got to see the good that came from humanity. That's why he says "they were gifted free will, and look what they did with it! Everything is terrible!" When really not everything is terrible, that's just all he ever gets to see. No wonder he's depressed!
For the "allowing the exterminations" thing, remember what Lute said in Episode 1 - Lucifer agreed that the exterminations could happen and he would not interfere, so long as no hellborns were harmed, only Sinners.
Poor Lucifer, a lot of people are overlooking details and misunderstanding him (likely due to years of preconceived notions in the lead-up to the show's release). There are TONS of hints at what's going on with the guy, but they're easy to miss especially if you've already got an idea of what you think he's like. He's not a deadbeat dad, he's a broken man wracked with depression and anxiety from thousands of years of a cruel punishment that he blames himself for. And Lilith? I'm pretty sure she's not the positive being so many people are assuming she is. It's already clear that Charlie's kindness, goofiness, and gentle nature come from her dad, so... where does that dark side come from? Here's my take on Lucifer's situation so far:
First of all, he clearly had good intentions in giving the fruit to Eve, and it backfired on him. It mentions in the opening that part of his punishment was only ever getting to see the bad things that resulted from his decision (meaning he only ever got to see the worst of what humanity did with the gift he'd given them). He was likely a lot like Charlie back then, an idealist who was completely convinced that he was doing a good thing for humanity by giving them free will (and I'd certainly argue that it WAS a good thing), but Heaven shot him down. So he took action on his own, got punished, and now has been witnessing the depravity that humanity is capable of **thanks to him.** Can you imagine how something like that would affect Charlie? Just look at how she reacts when things go wrong for her. Now imagine things going wrong and her being forced to watch the worst aspects of things going wrong for thousands of years. She would NOT be doing well.
And then we have evidence in the second song of this episode that Lilith was the reason for the gap between Charlie and her father. There were signs that Lucifer wasn't a deadbeat dad at all. First of all, the genuine love and care he expressed towards her are not the sort of feelings a deadbeat dad can express. Second of all was the way that Lilith took Charlie away from Lucifer in the flashback. I'm guessing there that Lilith had embraced EVERY aspect of being in Hell while Lucifer hid away from it, so she kept Charlie away from him so she would learn to embrace Hell instead of having delusions of anything more. Lucifer was a dreamer, and it even seemed he remained a dreamer for a while before depression swallowed him up (judging by his and Charlie's brief interaction in the flashback). Lilith wanted Charlie to be a true demon and not be infected by Lucifer's 'weakness' is my guess, but that last bit is purely based on conjecture on my part. And when Charlie mentioned that her dad only called when he was bored or wanted something from her, the tell-tale bit was the 'when he was bored' bit. If he EXCLUSIVELY called when he needed something then yeah, total deadbeat. But also when he was 'bored'. I'd bet a jar of nickels that the 'bored' part was just an excuse from Lucifer, and he was actually fishing for an opportunity to connect. He clearly had self-worth issues, and probably assumed that Charlie didn't want anything to do with him. And then Charlie likely had her perception of her father clouded by whatever Lilith told her. She assumed that Lucifer didn't want to connect with her either. But the fact that Charlie apparently almost never called him yet he called semi-frequently meant that he was reaching out in his own way.
You'll note how excited he got both when he saw Charlie was calling and when Charlie asked him for a favor. It's not uncommon for people with low self-worth to jump at opportunities to provide 'value' as it makes them feel worthwhile. In fact, Vaggie has that same issue, and as Husker pointed out it was because she hated herself. So Lucifer was locked away for who knows how long, developing this strange fixation on making rubber ducks (curious to know if there's a reason behind that), battling depression and anxiety all by himself and occasionally reaching out to his daughter in the hopes that she might want to reconnect. Considering how floored he was that she invited him over is what makes me come to that conclusion. He'd been waiting for that invitation for ages but had been too anxious to try and initiate it himself.
The poor guy was ruled by fear and self-loathing, and even though he was apart from his daughter she was clearly still his whole world. The moment at the beginning of the second song where he sees the spears of light pointed at her was very striking to me, as you see a flash of fear on his face before he pulls her away from them. He's terrified of what happened to him happening to his little girl, he doesn't want her doing things that would draw Heaven's attention to her.
"I've wanted to know who you are", "I've been waiting", those lines say it all. They were kept apart by misunderstanding (and possibly manipulation by Lilith) and mental health issues on Lucifer's part. One thing I found interesting (and heartbreaking) about Lucifer that a lot of people either aren't picking up on or don't consider very significant was how he would occasionally start to hyperventilate then reel it in. The man has PTSD and clearly had several near panic-attacks during the episode but had just gotten good at reigning them in over the centuries. Heartbreaking :'(
Finally, someone who analyzes the serie, I also do not believe that Lilith is as good as many people make her out to be without saying that the extermination that the angels carry out in hell is because she was gaining power by empowering hell. Who knows why she wanted to gain power.
Agree wholeheartedly. I've seen some comics with Lucifer where I'm like... THAT'S how you see him???? Really????? Because so many people ignore all that for some reason.
I like him a lot!!!
Yes!! Finally someone I can agree with on this!!! It seemed so suspicious to me right off the bat that Lilith “thrived” in Hell. If all that you can see in Hell is the depravity of humanity as a result of free will, what is there to thrive off of? A kill-or-be-killed world? Hell getting more powerful thanks to her, to me, could just as easily mean that she created soul contracts and built the tyrannical hierarchy we see to day, as it could mean she made sinners believe in themselves. You have everything about Lucifer spot on and as you said, if we can look inside this man that has had no hope for millennia, and see what he would have been, it would be a spitting image of Charlie. So Lilith is much more likely not the “pep-talk” kind of person. And what better to give him back his hope for the future, than getting to know his daughter? 🥹 it’s tragic but so beautiful. Elijah pointing out that he still has his wedding ring is interesting though. Maybe Lilith cheated on him, and Lucifer would be willing to forgive her if she showed any remaining interest in him at all. Maybe she cheated on him with Alastor? (Romantically not sexually) because she enjoyed his bloodlust? Or perhaps with Charlie’s ex-boyfriend’s dad, who we see in that photo in his office being friendly with him? They wouldn’t put that in the frame for no reason.
I agree, and I also have taken notice that (as far as I have seen), no one comments on that Lucifer is so often close to hyperventilating. You are the first one I have seen.
Even if you don't catch on to that the out-of-place breathing habits when talking is the start of hyperventilating, it's still a very particular trait to put on a character. One of the first things I took notice of about him was his particular breathing habits. Someone constantly having to take deep breaths/having the breath forced out while talking is obviously dealing with something 😅
Also he probably wouldn't have that many pictures of Charlie if he didn't care
"Pride is not the opposite of shame, but it's source"
If we look hard at Lucifer, we start to see how much that quote applies to him as Charlie's dad, leader of the Pride Ring and why he's so depressed.
That may even apply to every sinner in the Pride ring.
I thought, unless they're changing things up, he'd be the leader of Treachery, for betraying God. Just going by Dante Allegheri's poem Inferno
According to everywhere I’ve looked, sinners ONLY go to the pride wing, so that would mean that quote applies to every sinner, which idk haha, but you’re definitely right about Lucifer
Props on the Iroh quote

12:51 cuz this hotel only needs one demon with a STICK and they both got jealous
Everytime I hear how Lucifer emphasizes "other friends" it makes wonder how intentional that was, considering who shows up later in the episode.
“Alastor, secret softie!”
*immediately cuts to scene of him terrifying the shit out of Husk*
The way I take it, Mimzy thinks she's got Al figured out, but he's probably putting up a front with her. Same with Charlie, I think he doesn't care about the hotel or Charlie, he was only doing all that in Hells Greatest Dad was to get under his skin.
*tyler the creator voice: so that was a fucking lie*
vivzie whispering in your ear: "I can see no reason why they can't both be true"
Elijah: What's wrong with you?
Lucifer: Crippling depression.
i found this way funnier than i should have
Me: That’s a mood, Gabriella.
Daddy issues more like it!
Charlie has a forced smile around Lucifer, but she has a real smile around Alastor.
16:55
I love how Elijah goes from 😱😬when Alister an Lucifer go head to head and then when Mimzy shows up, she goes 😮🤨
I am so glad they made Lucifer such a caring dad. Sure he's kind of a doofus who isn't exactly good at this, but he is legit trying and does truly love Charlie. Also Hearing Alastor use profanity is GOLD. That’s how you know he’s really upset because nobody really gets to him
He's trying better than Lilith she didn't even contacted charlie at least Lucifer contacts her and seeing ''more than anything'' charlie's part it seems Lilith wanted them apart
@@ukihakasmikaze8778 Yeah why would she take Charlie away when she was bonding with her dad and making him less depressed.
It’s an interesting dynamic since too often in media, neglectful fathers are shown to be all around terrible or just outright abusers. But Lucifer shows an uncommon yet also real kind of neglectful father who doesn’t really wanna be around his kids because of his own insecurities. Which mind you is definitely not fair to the child either, but it shows that not every flawed parent is necessarily flawed out of evil or malice.
Sir Pentious tearing up when Charlie was on the phone, hoarding the cookies, and crying during the entire song is a mood.
8:06 - 8:38 THE FUNNIEST PART OF THE WHOLE FREAKING EPISODE FOR ME LMAO!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love how it surprises some people I know when I mention that Mimzy's voice is also Spinel from the Steven Universe Movie, despite the fact that Sarah Stiles is using the same voice type.
This version of Lucifer is WAY different than I expected from the Pilot. Back then, it seemed like he was probably gonna be a super distant and harsh parent. He’s distant still, or at least was for a lot of Charlie’s childhood, but…he also clearly really does care about her. He was scared by the prospect his kid would repeat all his own mistakes and didn’t know how to deal with it, but he’s still willing to try for her now.
Yeah. The “I think dad was right about me” line, along with “Lucifer lost his will to dream” clashed with Charlie telling Lucifer seeing him create things in her childhood inspired her, considering he shouldn’t have been up to those things if he lost his will to dream. But I love the song too much to let plot holes stop me.
It ain't a plot hole lol
Well he is a fallen angel so ig his personality would be similar ?
I dunno, I predicted he was a workshop guy back then.
@@icemagiciangh3268 These are not really plot holes. She is still pissed at him in the episode about what he said to her (this episode is 5 month after the last ones), but now we can guess that he just really badly chose his words about heaven, redemption etc... (I like to imagine we worked his peach for his scene with charlie to not be shitty again)
And he shows Charlie his powers in this episode to impress her, so why not doing it when she was a child (probably millenias before, so he maybe wasn't fully depressed at that time)
When Lucifer says Charlie is the only thing worth protecting you can see the fear in his eyes when the spears start to go towards her, and he pulls her away from it. He is fine being targeted but so desperately doesn't want Charlie to feel like he did. And the fact he pulls her into the darkness for HER safety
I notcied that on second watch, and whenever i see that fear i get sad-
I just found your channel because this is my personal favorite episode and I absolutely LOVE your energy! Sweetheart, you are a whole fucking MOOD! Also, you are absolutely right about Vaggie!
*my dad just swinging and throwing me in the air while dancing on our favorite songs of hazbin hotel* and angel is my favorite omg
Love that Alastor is just blatantly lying about his relationship with Charlie to get under Lucifer's skin. He has NEVER wanted to be a father figure to the hotel gang, he's just being a pr*ck to the literal king of hell. And it's iconic.
He probably is forced to do that as well
@@djmewtwo6981ESPECIALLY if it's Lilith, Lucifer's ex, controlling him. That makes it even funnier
@@amidoshi1909 it’s hard to not be Lilith, I don’t think the royals would be powerful enough to force an overlord into a leash just like that (specially not a big tier like Alastor), and the sins don’t have any control over the pride ring. So everything indicates it’s Lilith, specially since it matches the whole 7 years thing, and Charlie stated Lilith has the dreams of rebellion in prologue
The funny thing is Charlie is like 4 times older than Alastor.
He has a superiority complex, he can't match Lucifer in physical or magical power so he tries to one up him using his relationship with Charlie
o/ Depression representative here. The not communicating with friends and family aspect is something I deal with also. It's an unsupported feeling of intrusion into their spaces that the person does know is fine to do, but holds themselves back from it. Also, burying yourself in a minor task alone is another... Damn it, Lucifer making me examine myself >.>
Also, the tendency for your thoughts and words to be constantly negative. The suicidal thoughts about the railing. And the hazy mind, making it hard sometimes to focus or even remember conversations you've had. I've also been through it, so I immediately saw and connected with Lucifer on it. But he really does love Charlie. 😭
yes! also this is less deep but the tired eyes? the kind of hopeless, permanently exhausted look he had brought back memories I fogrot I had tbh, and I loved how it didn't just go away when things got a bit better!!
Look at Vaggie face when Husk asked “you got daddy issues?” She got mad at him 😂❤
25:11 This is my favorite moment of the episode tbh
I think Alastor didn’t like Lucifer was simply because Lucifer ignored Alastor when he entered. As we saw with Carmilla he’s really prideful and hates not being acknowledged. Alastor likely responds how he does to be petty, especially since he isn’t able to overpower Lucifer in any sense.
On an unrelated note, it’s hilarious how Lucifer’s feelings goes from “This strawberry pimp is making moves on my daughter” to “thank dad, she likes girls”, to “oh crap, he’s trying to take my place.” 😂
*Take that depression!*
- Lucifer Morningstar
Oof.
I relate so much WHY
This is my motto now no one can change me
8:21 YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO BELTED OUT LAUGHING WHEN HE SAID THAT LOL!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
fun fact: the reason why lucifer was so "attached" to vaggie, is because she was an angel like him. During the beautiful introduction given by lucifer, he was actually trying to find her halo
Edit: btw, although alastor is the strongest overlord and stuff. but he isn't that strong compared to the hieracy. Hieracy:
1. Lucifer Morningstar (i don't need to explain why he's first)
2. Charlie/Lilith
3. The seven deadly sins (asmodeus being the weakest one)
4. 'Ars GoeTia" Think of stolas, those types of creatures (no idea who the weakest is) It's crazy to me when all of the overlords were being shown, we see two bird like creatures (almost resembling Goetia's)
5. Overlords, we don't know which is the weakest/strongest really. As of right now, I would put Alastor in first and Velvette for last place. The reason why we don't know who the strongest/weakest are is because we didn't really get an understanding of what the other overlords possessed. However, I do think alastor will remain as the strongest overlord mainly because he was the quickest sinner to become one and has taken down many other overlords such as nifty, husk, and many others that just don't have names yet.
6. Sinners, a subspecies of demons that were all once humans who committed sins before they died
7. Hellborn, original demons born in hell
8. Imps & hellhounds, Imps are considered the "working class" of hell's society, Hellhounds are the least respected. They are most likely hired for heavy labor work, or just servants for higher ranking demons
I think Alastor’s reaction to first seeing lucifer was cus he was severely disappointed. Imagine being the most ambitious and ruthless demon aiming for the top to take lucifer, the supposed monster of monster’s place but see a short dude with golden retriever energy 😂 there is also a level of satisfaction of taking down a ruthless king in a savage kingdom, but lucifer looked like he didnt even belong there 😅
Which I love how poetic that is! Lucifer has mostly been portrayed as a giant, red, cloven-hoofed monster that devours all that enter hell! It's only recently in modern media we've seen him portrayed as this gorgeous, enigmatic and often very approachable ruler which juxtaposes with his surroundings, which, yeah, he's a LITERAL ANGEL PEOPLE LMAO😂!
He's threatened by Lucifer because Lucifer is stronger than him & because he would protect Charlie & he preys on Charlie because she has a pure heart. He is definitely planning to use her to get power.
honestly i love the more modern take on him rather than the big bad troll like creature most used to depict him as, like he's supposed the be the serpent with the golden tongue that lures people into sinning. Who's gonna wanna sin if a big red monster is going "DO IT OR ILL EAT YOUR SOUL". like, pal, id be more willing to sin if someone like viv's lucifer were to come up to me and start gushing about ducks @@Kongstudios2
No, it wasn't disappointment, he felt threatened, Alastor knows that Lucifer can kick his ass 30 times without getting tired.
People forget Lucifer is a literal angel. A fallen angel, but an angel.
"The family you choose is better" is the best thing I've heard in this episode, that's why friends are so important in life.
I call two of my friends "adoptive father and mother" because they're dating but they also care about me and my other friends like parents would. I consider all my friends family.
Fun fact: Lucifer isn’t actually that short. Yes, he is below average height. But he isn’t THAT short. Charlie is just tall, just like how Vaggie is shorter than her too
Not seeing anyone else pointing it out, so my theory here is Lucifer was being literal when he said Charlie was the only thing left fighting for, pretty sure he said okay to the exterminations as long as her wasn't harmed (which might be why the Hotel is a safe place?)
7:54 In case your still wondering, that's Charlie's ex-boyfriend's father: Frederick von Eldritch. Charlie used to date a guy called Seviathan von Eldritch, who broke up with each other for unknown reasons. Lucifer and Frederick von Eldritch were friends because of their children's relationship.
And of course instead of him they made her gay for diversity woke crap
I thought it was Adam without his mask on this whole time
@@FeministCatwomanI thought it was Adam in a different outfit too. Then I noticed he had a different color tongue than Adam, and started to wonder if they * were* bringing Michael in as his twin. I didn’t know the dads had been good friends. Makes more sense now.
@@icemagiciangh3268it’s leviathan his actual first name and luciera rival

The fact that Luci would have ERASED Alastor if weren't for Charlie being there shows how much he actually cares IMO lol
For as much he was annoyed, Lucifer at least sees that Alastor is not harming Charlie. If Lucifer did thought Alastor was a danger for his daugther, Alastor wouldn't even be a thing anymore.
8:22 OML HE IS MY NEW FAVORITE CHARACTER❤
1: Lucifer
2: Angel Dust
2: Niffty
Im literally dying or drowning in tears RN from episode 4 and ive already watched the series 7 times but still
16:10 i 100% believe Alastor just said this to get a rise out of Lucifer. it's obvious when he says "you could even call me dad" he's not looking at Charlie at all. he turns directly to Lucifer.
as established, Alastor thrives off of attention and control. Lucifer is not only infinitely more powerful than him, he also didn't even spare him a second glance.
maybe he has a soft spot, maybe on some level he's fond of her, maybe he has an interest in keeping her on his side, but there's no way he genuinely views her as "the daughter he wishes he had"
idk dude, you know how musicals work, he was singing there already.
i wish i could pin this
THE WAY ALASTOR DELIVERED THAT "fuck you" WAS SO CATHARIC
as a dad with a young daughter. i was damn near sobbing. Especially when i realized that one days ill get to watch this with her. Hell im crying again now
I WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS EPISODE REAAAAAAA
26:30
Did anyone else notice that when Lucifer was singing about losing it all again, the scene cuts to Charlie with spears being pointed at her. Lucifer pulls her away from the danger. Beautiful story telling and showing us how he cares for his daughter ❤
he pulls her away and flips them so HE'S the one with the spears pointed at him and charlies safely away.
I heard someone say that he doesn't care that the spears are pointed at him, cuz just like Adam says: he's the most hated being in all of creation. He's used to it. But when the spears are directed at his daughter then he gets scared.
I also noticed that he pulled her away from the light (as in Heaven) and into the darkness (which is Hell and his protection/shelter)
I don't like how people get angry at Val when he abuses Angel Dust but when Alastor abuses Husker people are like "Husker you shouldn't talk back to Alastor" feels very one sided & hypocritical. I do hope at some point in a future season Husk is able to break free, either by Alastor let him/being forced to let him go or he gets killed, I would rather Alastor not die since he's a great character and there still so much to do and explore about his character but I want Husker to finally be able to live his own life same as Angel dust hopefully(I swear to god or mabey lucifer that if either of them die I am sending the bill for my therapy to Vivipop).
THANK YOU!!! OMG finally someone gets it! Alastor is so obviously not a good guy at all. At first I didn’t trust him, but now I seriously don’t trust him. It’s annoying everyone is giving him the benefit of the doubt because they love his character so much. He’s clearly someone we cannot trust
@@spicytubaroll Yeah definetly, like don't get me wrong I love Alastor as a character but I'm not gonna act like he's a good guy or be fine with what he does, he's clearly sadistic and if they do a redmeption ark for him it would have to be good, like go really into it, not just "oh now he's fartherly to charlie, he's such a sweety, he's forgiven" as that would just be disrespectful to Huskers character and those who relate to him.
Its telling how much I see this sentiment. Maybe he's not as openly abusive with his souls, but its still a "nice slave owner" fallacy, he's still a monster. But he's a fan favorite so everyone ignores it. After seeing husk last episode I really just despise alastor now
Yea it’s very hypocritical tbh when I saw alastor abusing Husk I got mad at Alastor for the first time and was like “you’re mad cause Husk is right for saying what he said!!”
I feel like Hells not doing the job its supposed to. The general populace of Hell are tormented either by Heaven or the overlords. But the overlords are living large and nice. Powerfull and cushy lives. I assume its going to end with at least some overlords crumbling towards a third act breakdown. I feel like Allister could totally easily do without Husk. So i do hope all the contracts are torn apaet at some point.
I've never met my dad. And for reasons. But then this episode just makes me wish I had one so badly! 😢
And that the world was an actual musical! 😊❤
The way why luci said "you like girls?! Oh we have much in common!!!!" Its cuz he also knew she its a fallen angel because he looked for her halo . And when he saw "sacrificial lamb" its right cuz in the episode 8 dazzle dies and it was the sacrificial lamb.
Since everyone is talking about the emotional parts, may I take a moment to shout out that LUCIFER HAS A GOLDEN FIDDLE. That reference killed me 😂

"TAKE THAT DEPRESSION" is one of the best lines as well as the "Daaad" line alistor sings in the song.
Fun Fact: Lucifer playing the golden fiddle is a reference to the 1979 Charlie Daniels song "The Devil went down to Georgia". If anyone who is reading this hasn't heard it, I *HIGHLY* recommend it!
That is a really random fact, i luv it :V
Ahhhh!!! I knew it!! I’m so happy that is an reference! I’m so happy! (My gosh that song is so freaking good)
Didn't know that, thanks for telling.
Oh, I was wondering if they were referencing that song. Good to know.
I have new encouragement to make sure my kid will never have daddy issues. I want to be there for them, teach them to be a good human, help them feel safe when they start to chase their dreams no matter what I'm going through.
“Picks up phone”Hey batchhhhhhhh! “Take that depression” got me rolling
Alistor can’t defeat the king of hell, it’s very one sided, so he instead engages in psychological attacks.
Honestly, Mimzy showing up abruptly is probably the only way Alastor could have made it out of that situation without having a second death.
So true XD
Hahaha totally
HONESTLY I SEE PEOPLE HATING AND IM LIK3 ITS THE OBLY WAYIT WOYLDV3 ENDED
Charlie would’ve gotten Lucifer to stop. He wouldn’t kill someone his daughter cares about when his relationship with her is already strained.
Did you notice Lucifer’s Golden Fiddle during the song?
If you don’t know why I’m bringing this up it’s because it is a similar Fiddle to another song…”The Devil went down to Georgia”
Honestly, I think one of the big reasons why alastor gets so pissed with lucifer, is because he hates having someone stronger than him in the hotel. He got so used to being the strongest and the one in control, having someone there that can easily over power that. Pretty sure that's like a psychopathic trait. Or something like that
