Ahoi!! Thank you guys for the great resonance on The Longing!! We will release a brand-new Storm Seeker album this year, so better keep yourself updated about it on our social media: fb.com/stormseekerband Instagram: @stormseekerband Cheerio!
The frontman is actually leaning into the 1800s sailor theme, the two chicks are in fairly generic modern goth friffery, the keyboardist and drummer are just wearing black.
Joseph Groves that’s what I thought too ... hurst gurdy in a metal band, that’s interesting. Redhead starts sing, totally riveted. Her voice is amazing.
I've seen many men wandering all strong and brave and keen Seen them growing into rulers but I long for the sea Heard a ship came from North to our harbour for a day and before misfortune knows I'll be on my way I'm all set to veer away and I'm all set to go astray All burdens I will leave ashore to find what I've been longing for Don‘t tell anyone that this night I'll be gone Greeting the eternal blue right at the break of dawn Sailing t‘wards the unknown with my crew on the sea And the day that I return a hero I shall be I'm all set to veer away and I'm all set to go astray All burdens I will leave ashore to find what I've been longing for
Thank you. I have been singing along to this song for the last 18 months and the only words I've been singing correctly has been " find what I've been longing for".
Patty Gurdys has a very hard to miss. Style on the Hurdy Gurdy. Any group or individual She chooses to play with. automatically gets my seal of approval.
Love the Patty only version but the full Stormseeker version brings it all together into a beautiful and glorious whole! Can't wait to see what's next.
This has singlehandedly restored my musical inspiration. Hearing the difference between Patty's solo version and the whole band has the bass back in my hands.
Funny thing is that YT recommended it to me without me knowing Patty (who's channel I subscribe for few years) is member of band. I knew she has band, but never remembered name. Good job UA-cam :)
Man, how did I miss this? I’ve been listening to Paddy’s version for several weeks now. Not quite sure which I like better- the gurdy alone has a more serene feel but the extra instruments and vocals add some nice energy to it... good thing I don’t have to choose!
I stumbled on your band by accident and was blown away. I've been finding and listening to everything I can of yours for days. Patty and Sandra look absolutely delicious!
Something else that I have to say : I have seen again your previous video "Destined Course" and there has been a tremendous improvement in both your footage and your teamwork. The frontman is not so much in the front but still here, not shadowing the rest of the band : you were in triangle in the first video, you are now in circle, each person has his or her own moment, cuts are longer, so we have more time to settle the eye. Also, your cinematographic language has improved : the song story is really reflected by the footage, the front singer is the one longing for, Patty singing embodies his hopes outdoor. You really have a great potential guys, please keep it up !
METAL POWER WITH ANGEL VOCALS IS THE FUTURE BOISSSS PLUS MIX IN THAT CULTURAL HERITAGE SO WE CAN ALL LEARN ---LEARN--- LEARN ELAN ALAN ELAINE The middle name is the learning gap of time. (Time = Saturn)
If you're a fan of Patty's solo work, you might also like Storm Seeker's current hurdy-gurdist, Fabi. Check out her channel, Fabis Tunes. Also, Fabi's other band Brisinga (Sandra the cellist is also in that band).
@@Nerdsammich I started to get into the pirate metal genre until I realized it all boils down to Strong Mad shouting I WANT TO GO ON A BOOOAAAAAT! jugga jigga wugga. I think Patty's solo approach has a couple advantages, like she's not trying to growl so she actually makes it through "strong and brave and keen" and "some grow into rulers" in one piece. Also keeping it acoustic hurdygurdy + vocals...I think makes it more cohesive thematically. It's a folk song/shanty rather than "pirate metal," which again will forever remind me of Homestar Runner characters being silly. I'm not so sure about the hurdygurdy playing the role of lead guitar in front of a metal band. The acoustic intro that's then picked up by the metal band could work, but I think an electric guitar should take over for the melody just so that it isn't fighting to be heard over the rhythm guitar and drums. In moments where the song cools back down, return to acoustic instruments. I know, it's done the way it is because "We have a hurdygurdy player, not a lead guitarist." Both versions have the same awkward lyrics; "Heard a ship came from North to our harbor for the day...." I would have written that "Heard a ship from the north came to harbor for the day.'

Waaaaaaaaaaa! Geil 😀
Nice song! But why the Kate Moss eye shadow GUYS? seriously...
TremereTT
Sireously? Seriously. :D
Any chance of a tour which uncludes coming to the UK?
I like how the drummer was like, " Hey I am glad you guys are into the fishnets and mascara but I am just going wear a black shirt"
The frontman is actually leaning into the 1800s sailor theme, the two chicks are in fairly generic modern goth friffery, the keyboardist and drummer are just wearing black.
He hasn't unlocked the gear yet
I think he has breeches on though
"I thought we were ALL going to get haircuts before the video shoot?!"
The fact anyone has anything more than a vague sense of pants means they are not fitting the usual vision of pirates, damnit! XD
Patty is a gem.
A Hurdy Gurdy in a metal band?
At first you had my interest but now you have my attention
Check out eluveitie if you like a hurdy gurdy in metal
Amondsen III +1 to this, they’re a great band
Like that is new? Eluvietie and Cellar Darling My Dude
Also check out apocalypse orchestra :)

Legit addicted to this song, especially with Patty Gurdy in it 😩 her voice is memorising.
Patty Gurdys has a very hard to miss. Style on the Hurdy Gurdy. Any group or individual She chooses to play with. automatically gets my seal of approval.
Singing in the silence was a very beautiful moment!
Patty Gurdy! Was für eine Überraschung🙂👍🎶❤
Patty is just oh so adorable!
Love the Patty only version but the full Stormseeker version brings it all together into a beautiful and glorious whole! Can't wait to see what's next.
Too true.
@@Thomas.Wright me too
Pirate metal with a hurdy gurdy and some gravelly vocals. This that good shit
Perfect I get this recommended in 2021, the year of the sea shanty!
Loooooove Storm Seeker
So F* Awesome! Love it!
ha I know her. She mad that weirdly pleasant version of Primo victoria ;)

This is great seeing one of my favorite you tubers comment on another of my favorite you tubers videos !!!!
Alina Lesnik Official for sure..
I thought it was fucking awesome myself...
Hope my neighbors enjoy this as much as I do!!
If you were my neighbor and you started blasting this, I would do the same. :)
I'm not giving them an option. They will like it as much as I do by the time it stops!
Do we care?
That red head with the crank... Oh my!
Still one of my favorite songs and always on my playlist.
This has singlehandedly restored my musical inspiration. Hearing the difference between Patty's solo version and the whole band has the bass back in my hands.
Best pirate metal ever! Nothing like STORM SEEKER! cheers from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
I was sad a few seconds ago but then I remembered storm seeker exists. I'm happy now.
Dom zły ;) wojti smarzowsky ! Pzdr !
The most amazing fusion of classical and gothic rock that I've ever seen!
Живий вогонь!
It's good to see storm seeker are still active and producing high quality recordings and videos!
IT's great! 😄👍
Love this, 💘
SUPER😉😊
Excellent song for fishing. Damn if my little row boat doesn't feel like a 1700's dreadnaught right now.
Gooooooo💪🏾
Makes me want to set on a long and adventurous journey, discovering new places. Congratulations! Extra congratulations to hurdy gurdy :)
Wunderbar!
The guitar riffs are absolutely stunning.
really? they sound pretty generic to me...
Addicted to this song and PG now
When the music disappeared and she sang alone... I got chills, such a beautiful voice!!
As a musician that plays multiple instruments...I think I just fell in love!😊
Still cant get over how good this song is. Good is an understatement
I was looking for other song but I’m glad to end here
Well I'll be damned, UA-cam actually recommended a good stuff to me. Very good. I need more hurdy-gurdy in my life. Cheers from Ukraine ;)
Funny thing is that YT recommended it to me without me knowing Patty (who's channel I subscribe for few years) is member of band. I knew she has band, but never remembered name. Good job UA-cam :)
Same to me Yizahi. I knew Hurdy Gurdys befor, but not Patty or Storm Seeker
It's not metal, but if you're interested in hurdy gurdy, I highly recommend Andrey Vinogradov's channel here on youtube.
Hey, me to from Ukraine
Love this music and hurdy-gurdy:)
Wish I could get one here in Kiev..
Я теж з України :)
Great video. Great song.
Where has this been all my life! It speaks to me at a deep level.
Hypnotic,
Música excelente, banda muito profissional!... Greetings from Brazil!
This is just so good. I listened to the original a lot then I found this one. And that cello player.... hello.
I think this band is what I've been longing for

La combinaison d'instruments - et de voix - était très bonne.
Amazing Band! Powerful Video and Theme ;) Success, Brothers of Metal!
Patty in a metal band, this is perfect.
From 0:15-0:50 gives me chills 🤘🏻

Hottest stand up bass player for sure
Cellist isn't it?
Even better!
UA-cam recommended finally paid off, who would have thought if I like Eluveitie and Alestorm you should recommend this?
I am reminded of my youth in this.
Thank you.
Edit: also impressively well constructed.
Not bad at all. Pirate metal? Im listening..
What about "Alestorm"?
Bogdan Koldunenko never heard it, but i shall look it up!
Late to the party but I wanna give Lagerstein an honourable mention. Drink til we die is a good album
Gideon Wesley you're in for a treat.
Honestly, quite impressive to find pirate metal without first discovering Alestorm!
Unfckngblvble.... Absolutely Awesome! Even her Solo version is the Bomb! Patty ......your Absolutely stunning in looks and talent !
CHeers from the Czech Republic.... ;-)
Češi? Zde!
Mrzí mě,že jsem dopředu nevěděl,když tu hrála...Bych si zajistil, abych tam byl :-/ Snad neni všem dnům konec ;-)
First time hearing the band, clearly not the last time!
Damn, that red head is gorgeous
She has her own UA-cam channel. Patty Gurdy.
@@munky342 yeah, I found about about it after :) thanks
She IS.
She's an amazing alto too. Really scratching that Karen Gillan itch...
I believe storm seeker was the band see was in during college. Great heavy mental band
Is that Patty Gurdy on the hurdy gurdy?
Yes it is
No, Just her twin, Natty Gurdy who's also play the Gurdy party nurthy Gurdy Gurdy durdy hurdy Gurdy. Idk
Yup, at the time she was part of the band, and also co-wrote the song (hence there's a Gurdy solo version on her channel).
You lot have a fan and friend in Texas!
This song makes a lot of sense to me once I left a good job to be an entrepreneur.
Adding this to my music list.
Not sure to click the metal Playlist or the Celtic folk playlist.

Claro, vamo lotar de BR nessa porra!
Holy shit, this song is awesome !!!
Its a shame that this song gets outplayed by Patty alone. But damn, her voice is so perfect for those lyrics.
Gotta say, though, even her performance is better in this version. More feeling.
not her fault , shes insane talent.

I thank all great artists
I am a huge fan of unconventional instruments for metal.
I'm looking up the Hurdy Gurdy, very fascinated by it and I come across this. I'll listen to what ever sounds good and this sounds amazing
The Gurdy player in this video has her own channel too, "Patty Gurdy".
How nice. Patty let them cover her song.
**shots fired**
The cover is the paty's one. Storm seeker is the original but i love even more paty's version
