About Harvey's guest:
Today’s special guest, Linda Evans, is a beloved, multi-award winning actress, author and public speaker who’s been dazzling the world with her talent, warmth, grace, spirituality - and yes, her legendary beauty - since she first came into our homes on TV as Barbara Stanwyck’s daughter “Audra Barkley” in “The Big Valley”.
She’s also appeared in a number of classic movies including “The Klansman” with Richard Burton, “Avalanche Express” with Lee Marvin, and “Tom Horn” with Steve McQueen. And yes, that was HER playing “Sugar Kane” in “Beach Blanket Bingo”. She also made 2 “Gambler” movies with Kenny Rogers, and she co-starred in the highly acclaimed TV mini-series “North and South Book 2: Love and War”.
But there can be no doubt that our guest has been forever immortalized for her unforgettable portrayal of the glamorous and highly likeable “Krystal Karrington” on the blockbuster TV series, “Dynasty”, for which she received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a TV Drama Series, and was nominated 4 more times for Golden Globe Awards, as well as receiving an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She also won 5 People's Choice Awards as Favorite Actress in a Drama Series.
In 1987, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. And in 1991, she delighted her loyal fans by resuming her role as “Krystle Karrington” in the TV miniseries, “Dynasty: The Reunion”. In 2006, she reunited with her castmates for the TV special, “Dynasty: Catfights and Caviar”.
In 2006, she and Joan Collins starred in a fabulous play called “Legends”, which I got to see in Toronto, at the beginning of their 9-month sold-out tour.
And then, in 2009, the whole world was rooting for her in the British cooking competition reality show, “Hell’s Kitchen”, which she won. And most recently, she can be seen in “Swan Song”, co-starring Jennifer Coolidge.
In 2015, she released an entertaining, poignant, spiritually uplifting and delicious memoir entitled, “Recipes for Life: My Memories”. I’ve described the book as “delicious” because it includes some of our guest’s favourite recipes. And let me tell you: if you’re a foodie like me, her famous artichoke dip, her crab and lobster cakes with mustard beurre blanc, her baked ham, her potatoes with cheese and garlic, and her lemon soufflé with raspberry sauce are EASILY worth TEN TIMES the price of the book.

Of all the celebrities I’ve interviewed, I found the luminous Linda Evans to be the most spiritually evolved and emotionally mature. Her comments about how she dealt with heartbreak and painful events in her life, were therapeutic on multiple levels. This was not the typical “Dynasty de-brief” interview that she’s done a thousand times. And she was very happy about that! I hope you enjoy this very special episode of our show.

I think that everyone loves her, however I heard that Sir Joan Collins is not visiting her often now which is very sad. Dame Percy Collins helps Joan to keep well at 92, amazing women!

I met Linda Evans in the early 80s, she was so nice & stunningly gorgeous in person.
How lucky you are to have met her! And how lucky am I to have interviewed her? I’m still pinching myself!!
😂 When I met her, my mother, straight from the reservation, told Linda, oh, I hate that Bo Derek for what she did! And Linda just said to her thank you lol so sweet! Also, she had just been injured from doing circus with the stars, and was told we could get no photographs with her. I mentioned this to Linda, and she got up and threw her arm around me for a snapshot, She is a class act!
What a wonderful human being she is!
@CrissyRed, I went to see Linda Evans and Joan Collins when they came to Boston to do Legends. After the show got out about 50 people were standing outside the stage door in freezing cold and windy weather. A guy opened up the stage door and let us all inside and told us to stand against the wall in this long but narrow hallway and he said if you want autographs have your pens ready. When Joan and her husband came walking down the hallway they were right on top of everybody because the hallway was narrow. Joan signed autographs but would not take any pictures with anyone. When she signed she just scribbled her name that you could not even tell who signed it. She just wanted to get out of there. Linda Evans came down after Joan and her husband and she signed everybody's autograph and she took pictures with everyone and did not stop until she was done. Very down to earth person Linda was. Joan was a bitch like Alexis.
God, she is a lovely lady. Loved her since I was 18 years old, and an avid Dynasty (Dynasty in the 80's) fan. And Harvey what a gracious host you are.

Well, I was grinning ear to ear through out this one, except when shedding a tear about the Aaron Spelling story. Linda is such wonderful person with a beautiful soul that shines so brightly! I have adored her since a child in the 60's when I thought Victoria and Audra Barkley were the best things on TV.
Harvey, again I must mention how fun your interviews are in part because you are so thorough in doing your homework and asking such great questions. One thing that always makes me smile...your intros listing your guest's accomplishments and watching how humbled and touched they are by your loving acknowledgement of them. I really enjoyed this, Harvey. I would say you are the hallmark of interviewers. You don't ask silly, generic questions but, rather, very specific, targeted questions. Loved the Linda Evans interview so much, Harvey, and for so many different reasons. Question: Linda mentioned Joan’s name once in conjunction with the stage play, but you never did. Was there a reason you omitted Collins from the interview? If it was private, I do not need to know, but it felt like a lacuna of sorts.
I didn’t mention Joan because I was well aware that Linda and Joan didn’t get along. Be sure to watch my interview with Gordon Thomson. He talks about it at length
That the Barkleys were the best-looking family in TV history is due in large part to Linda.

Still in love with her after 40 years. Sad I didn't meet her when she visited my hometown in the eighties to appear on FIBO in Germany. A Sport and Fitness Exhibition in Essen. Would have married her immediately ❤❤❤❤

That was a strategic decision I made, not to ask her about Joan. I read her book and drew my own conclusions. I figured everyone else who reads it can do the same. Why ask the obvious questions that every other interviewer has asked??? My reputation and massive audience comes from NOT being like every other interviewer out there.

Her eyes are not sad anymore and in dynasty I felt she was so sad her eyes told me and she is beautiful much more than BO Dereck .
She loved being on Dynasty. That show saved her life. Other than some tension working with Joan Collins (they weren’t friends), she absolutely loved the cast, especially John Forsythe.

I was watching a video of Joan Collins before I watched your video with Linda Evans and all the reporters on the show were asking her questions about working with Linda Evans. I never liked Joan Collins but was a big fan of Linda Evans since her Big Valley days. When one of my sisters got married years ago and got pregnant, I said to her if you have a girl why don't you name her Audra, which was Linda's character name on TBV. My sister had a girl and she named her Audra. She was also beautiful like Linda Evans. Thanks for the great video.

When my sister had her daughter and named her Audra, the only other person i knew of back then that had the name Audra was the actress on three's company who played Mrs. Roper. She's too polite. The Dynasty remake had absolutely NOTHING to do with the classy original. The new show was vulgar, not fun and ugly looking, only had the title in common with the royal classic soap from 1981.

I remember watching Dynasty I loved those shows of that era they were so much better then , what a wonderful interview .
