Good sales and really good idea to barter a "bad" buy into a good item to resell 👍💪
Thank you ☺️ now if I could only barter ALL of my bad buys 🤣
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
My pleasure!

Great tips.Thx
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! It helps me so much to know what I need to be looking for. I can't believe some of the things people want lol. I just sold an empty watch box for $40! Score! It's so much fun!
That's hilarious It always blows me away what people buy and what they pay good money for
I bought an empty rolex box for 25 cents and sold it for $550. Im still like dam lol
Holy moly 😲 that's amazing 🤩
@@desertsellersit is but when youve been a picker for decades the scores add up. People are like youre lucky. Nope. Just look a lot.
Yup!! Hustle is real ☺️
YOU ROCK ON!
Thanks so much for watching and your support 😊
You make very good profit on your goods. 😊
Nice info
You inspired me to create a eBay ! I mostly sale on Poshmark.
Posh is the one that scares ME 😂
great video, would love to see how you ship the bigger and heavier items these days since USPS has raised prices so much ..
Thanks for watching. UPS and FedEx are actually still afordable. I use them a lot for the heavy bigger items.
I love your videos and I just sold a remote today! Thanks for passing along your BOLOs!
Thank you so much for watching! Congrats on the remote!
Greatest advice! Could you explain how to ship the golf club?
If you search on you tube there are several videos…..how to cut and fold, then tape together a few boxes.
great info
Thank you!
good job
Great video and learned a lot. How long was it before you started making good money on reselling?
Thank you for your support. I'd say about a year till I was making a decent wage. 4ish years now and I make more than I ever did working full time. You learn so much as you grow.
Great video! I’d be happy if I could just do part time. Starting to gain some traction. I have a hearing disability so this is good for me cuz I can work at my own pace. How often do you source! I try to go daily. Sometimes I find several good item…sometimes only one. How long did it take you to get to the point where you could do it full time? I’m subscribed now👍🏻👍🏻
Hello and welcome to the channel! I try and source daily. And same as you there are days I leave empty-handed and other days I leave with handfuls. It took about 2 to 3 years for me to consider this a full-time income.
@@desertsellers I’m working on it! I find estate, yard & garage sales r best to acquire from cuz they r more negotiable on price cuz they have to get rid of it! GW i’ve had some good finds but sometimes they really rip u. Depends on the item. Thrift stores good too if u can find a good one. I’ll be watching ur channel. Good luck to you!
GET IT GIRL!
Thanks 😊
That waffle maker you bought for 5 bucks!? OMG
I recently started watching your channel
I wish you would show the screen shot of your actual solds or if you took an offer, could you explain that. Because it’s confusing when you say how much the items sold for, but the screen shot figure is different from what you are saying
Thank you
And God Bless!
I wish eBay made that easier. We grab this sold from my account but it never matches 🤷 so if I say a lower number it's bc I took an offer and it doesn't show in listing that way. There's also a small discrepancy when I do the totals at the end. What eBay says under "sold total" and what I get for sold total in my own spreadsheet it never matches so I do the end screen to my actual total but during the video I refer to the eBay total since I haven't shipped and calculated the final numbers.
I appreciate the input though and see if there's a better time share these numbers. Thanks for watching!
I just subbed to your channel. what is your ebay store? if you prompt the listings a certain way the items could possibly sell more. I have private shipping software I use and its very effective. never opening a store again.
Thank you so much for the sub. I do promote listings but on a very small percentage. You can check out my eBay store LinkedIn my bio. The store is called Desert Sellers.
New watcher! What do you do if you sell something that doesn’t work but you don’t know it. Like an electronic?
Welcome to the channel! So you want to test electronics whenever possible. This way if it doesn't work you can sell it for parts or dispose of it.
How can you keep up packaging all that up and shipping it
*Great* *Vintage* *For* *Sale* I ❤ Vintage clothing/collectibles and over the yrs Ive acquired a huge collection kept at an indoor climate controlled storage unit and in my basement filled with nothing but incredible vintage pieces I started out with clothing 25 yrs ago and shortly after added collectibles. I now have literally tons of rare pieces, nos, aop, single stitch, nos, one off extremely rare items, vintage clothing mostly 50’s through late 90’s Nike,Starter,Pendleton,Levis,Dior,YSL,concert tees, incredible vintage sports SnapBack and trucker hat collection vintage movie posters and all the promo material and press kits that were given only to theater owners, lots of vintage watches, jewelry, sports cards, autographs, memorabilia, military items, very rare aviaton items, art, some mid century furniture pictures, paintings, toys ie Star Wars,GI Joe 60’s w accessories, video game consoles and games NES,SNES,N64,Atari,Sega,big collection of 1st edition sci fi paperback books from the 50’s and 60’s,some cool signs, glassware, ephemera, industrial lights, literally anything that caught my eye that I thought was neat, rare, or valuable. There’s no filler it’s all extremely hard to find stuff that took decades to acquire. There’s a lot more stuff it’s just hard to mention everything. Im looking to move back out to Las Vegas (I came back to Alabama during the pandemic to help with a close family member that has now died) If someone can get to Alabama I may be willing to sell it all and cash out. It’s never been picked through or even seen by anyone for that matter. If someone can come this week or next I can send pics of different items. I’m going to the Orange Bowl Dec. 29th and probably the national championship Jan. 8th so if I am gonna sell it would have to be prior to then. Sorry for such a long comment.
That Xbox kinect value is not going to get very high lol
❤❤❤
Where do you source most of your items? Are garage sales any good for sourcing products for resale? Thank you.
Absolutely! Garage and estate sales are my number one than liquidation (Amazon) bins are my other fav. Thrifts are last place.
@@desertsellersI just subscribed to your channel. Do you mind sharing how you come upon Amazon bins? Thanks!
Welcome to the channel ☺️ you can usually search liquidation stores for your city (or nearby larger cities) in Google. Since they are independently owned they don't use the Amazon name. Good luck!
Just found your channel. If i may ask, what state are you in? I'm from AZ and noticed your channel's name.
Welcome! I'm in Tucson 🏜️ Great to meet a fellow Desert Dweller ☺️
@@desertsellers thank you! New subscriber here!!
How do you determine what to charge for shipping? I am slowly purchasing resealable items but kinda stuck at the moment. Any tips?
Always choose calculated shipping. Put in the most accurate measurements of weight and the box you'll use, and the buyer will pay their shipping. Invest in a shipping scale if you haven't already (I have one linked in my link tree on my bio) and you'll add a few oz for packing materials. Hope that helps! Best of luck!
@@desertsellers much appreciated ❤️
with parting out items, how the heck do you figure out which model the part is for so you can list it?
Great question. When I part items out it's usually because it was originally whole and either doesn't work or is missing parts. If it's an item that I cannot recognize you can use Google lens and find out what it goes to. But my main purpose for parting out is when it doesn't work and I knew what it was in its whole state. ☺️
💙💙
How do you calculate the shipping costs when its sold before packaging it?
You can do a pre weigh with the item and add about a pound or so for packing materials depending with the item is. If it's just going in a poly mailer at about 3 oz. Larger item you may need to add 2 lb for packing.
How do you ship golf clubs? Thanks in advance
Starting with a USPS tube mailer (free on their website). Wrap the head in bubble wrap and the grip in paper.
If you can recycle a different box than you can ship ups ground which is the cheapest. The USPS boxes are priority (or some people mark off USPS or wrap in paper to still send ups in that box) super easy to shop golf clubs just need the right box ☺️
Do you use any profit calculator apps that see's what an item is going for on eBay?
Just the eBay app ☺️ You can do all your research directly on eBay. Filter to sold and you will see what that item sells for.
@@desertsellersI do this process. Just wish I had a method to do it quicker. 😂
The more you do it, the faster you get. Just keep practicing. 😊
On average what percentage of returns do get with selling shoes on eBay?
Shoes are less than 5% I have more returns on electronics 🫣
@@desertsellers Ah ha! Thanks a mill! Appreciate you helps a lot.
Do most eBay resellers have LLCs or sole proprietorships? Anyone know how much liability an eBay reseller has when selling used items? I don’t want an LLC because of the new BOI reporting requirement, but I’m a little nervous about the liability of a sole proprietorship.
I only switch to an LLC for tax savings purposes. It was cheaper to run my business as an LLC. But that wasn't until a certain dollar amount. It will be best to speak to an accountant on what is best for your business. But I lasted about 5 years as a sole proprietor without any issues. If you think of liability there is very little as a reseller. You are not the manufacturer.
@@desertsellers Ah ok, makes sense. Thanks for the reply! I’ll probably start as a sole proprietor and see where it goes.
explain how your making any money on the low dollar items, like $15 dollar items after shipping and fees. Shipping through ebay is a little bit of break and fees 15%, your making a few bucks after its done. Why mess with it? Its a honest question. Even with USPS ground advantage its not cheap.
That is a very valid question. But imagine selling 15 of those at a time. Those are considered my bread and butter items. Mix in a few $15 sales along with other $40 to $50 sales. Every bit adds up.
@@desertsellers I use to buy wrecked/ salvage cars and parts them out on ebay, usually higher dollar items. Just got back into ebay and noticed fees are higher and shipping rates are higher now. I am trying out selling thrift store finds and bin finds since there are several places near me to buy from. But since I started listing and selling the small items lately on ebay I noticed the fees and shipping there isn't much left over so thats why I asked. I know its volume but shipping supplies aren't cheap. Just want to do this full time without having to get all the licenses to be able to buy salvage cars to get parts to resale.
Where does she find stuff cheap?
Garage sales, estates sales, thrift stores etc
Do u ever promote items
I do when the item has less than 100% sell through. I do 3%
I expected more explanation. This was more of a “ship packages with me” video.
Never waste time on those kind of people...
No health insurance. No retirement.
As a reseller? I'd rather take care of my own retirement anyway. SSA will not be there when I retire😆 as for insurance, private pay but yes it's a bit more expensive. But I'll take this a thousand times over a 9-5 any day!!
You've never heard of self employed people before? You don't need to work for someone to invest in an IRA or purchase health insurance. Goofy statement.
A person can buy their own health insurance, and build their own retirement fund with an IRA account.
Resellers turning their houses into scary places full of trash.
You literally only see my 3 foot workspace. But I'm glad you can make that assumption 😜
You don’t have to be a reseller to do that.
❤❤❤
