Remote, historically New York's commercial port, nearly an island, severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy, and yet, resilient, vibrant, thriving.
We'll visit Hometown BBQ, maybe the best BBQ in the city,
an artisan Vermouth maker,
a great bake shop and a winery,
plus get to hear Ida Blue sing a bit for us, ...who knew, ?

Just discovered your show! Saw your 'Le Bernardin' episode from way back in 2000, where you come back to your kitchen and show us how it's done. Now this one here most recent on Red Hook BBQ, and Vermouth, and what not, where you still show us a lot of what's going on, interesting people you have us meet (Ida Blue is awsome by the way)... I like Mike now that I have discovered him. The BBQ is the least of my favorites. Meat is addictive especially when cooked this way. Most meat eaters are really huge people.
I'd say soy is an addiction. Look at your dropping T levels and reevaluate. Has nothing to do with meat. Everything to do with processed foods.
So was Mike really hungover at the beginning?!

actually hungover, I had a very boozy late night in Chinatown with some Somm friends the night before, way too much good wine, then we somehow finished off celebrating with a whole lot of really good old Armagnac, so Bill and I stared the shoot with a shot of bourbon, "hair of the dog" style...it worked !!!
She is lovely
WOW, for 23+ years, we're one of only two bakeries in the US making key lime pies from fresh squeezed key limes (in, guess where? RED HOOK) and somehow, the industry insider missed us? Maybe next time Mike.

Great show on TV. I have only one question: Where can I get a red plaid coat with oversized shearing collar like he has on at the intro to each show? Devastating. Colavita Extra Virgin has to pony up for new wardrobe and then re-shoot the intro. Fuhgetaboutit.....
