Record number of "zombie fires" burning in BC. What does that mean?

- British Columbia's worst-ever wildfire season in 2023 appears to have carried over into 2024. The mild and dry fall and winter have created perfect conditions for a record number of so-called “zombie fires.”
Many parts of B.C. had lower-than-average rain in the fall and the ground did not become saturated enough to extinguish them. The fires can continue to burn underneath the snowpack and can then pose a new danger come the spring.
Global's Cassidy Mosconi reports.

As Trudeau cried "Climate change" all summer referring to the forest fire in Quebec to impose his carbon tax ... Brian Paré, a climate activist, had plead guilty last fall for having set 14 of these fire. For some reason, king Trudeau never talked about it.

Both NDP and UCP made controversial changes to wildfire response in last 10 years.

Also the forestry industry over the last 100 years have been planting different types of trees, that are better to cut down and these trees create more kindling on the ground, which increases forest fires.
Then Canada and the US are in a Super drought (look up Canadian super drought) Starting from about 2000 - its creating dryer conditions because of climate change, and it also is creating warmer summers and colder winters.
Add all these factors in and then throw in conspiraturds ... who believe in Agenda 2030, WEF conspiracies and some are doing stupid things like starting fires. He was just going to court on 13 counts of arson.
There are more things going on than just budget cuts.

The way we fight fires today is wrong. We leave as soon as the fire no longer visible, therefore the burning root systems keep on burning and will flare up at any time. You can not rely on rain to do the job, in the old day (I'm 78) we knew to put the root fires out.
The local people are no longer in control, all must wait for the central commity meeting to end, form my fire area it is held in Kamloops, before the crews can begin their day. So we are lucky to start by 9:30 AM instead of 5:00AM, so the natural over night dampening of the fire is completely lost! University and college grads only know book learning that gives them no experience as to a wildfire and how they behave.
It's almost as if it is done the wrong way on purpose so that they can scream climate change on the news to scare the average people and continue taxing us like there is no tomorrow while shoving down our throats things we don't want. Just like they forget to tell how many fires are lit by arsonists, they also forget to mention that contemporary forest management is deficient and so is the fire management. This damn one size fits all, centralize everything socialist obsession is the root cause of many ills in this country, not climate change.

Don't know how the spring and summer will be but where I live, we've had a fraction of the snow we usually have by now. Which means dryer conditions this summer.

I worry about vulnerable people with the smoke but also wonder how we will evolve with this new normal. Try reading The Time Machine by H.G. Wells and then imagine how our species would evolve if we ensured safe housing, clean water, healthy food, quality education, and full health care for everyone, while planning future development to be in harmony with the Earth and with each other. So kids and adults could earn a living wage from a place where they feel safe and loved, working towards an ensured basic standard of living, while achieving self actualization in the process.
First we need leaders that see how stupid it is to be killing each other in pointless wars. We are a long way from that at the moment and headed in the wrong direction.

These forest fires are perfectly normal, how else do you think coal and oil is produced. Its just that the conditions are ideal and the lack of personnel to control these fires. ..Solution? Don't build houses or towns near a forest.
