I hope Stone Sour comes back one of these days I'm glad Jim and Corey are still friends and on good terms
I mean they're still in Slipknot so I wouldn't even question their friendship based on the stone sour split.
If they really start another band I'm sure it will sound like Stone Sour so dont worry too much
Stone sour is terrible, man
@@c.jarmstrong3111 come whatever may was an amazing album!
@@c.jarmstrong3111 L opinion
I honestly wish Jim Root was still in Stone Sour, it hasn't been the same without him in my opinion.
That being said I would absolutely love to hear Corey and Jim make more music together. Something kind of similar to Stone Sour would be awesome. (Not as heavy as Slipknot)
It would be interesting to hear them do some slamming brutal death metal shit too tho xD
Agreed on the Stone Sour comment. After a few listens of Hydrograd the 3,547 guitar solo's on it get kinda stale😂
100% Agree!
Why isn’t it the same? Just curious
@@Nightwing300 hard to explain it, it's mostly just a feel thing. It's not that the newer stuff is bad, it's just slightly different.
@@ts_of_defunct I guess, I don’t really understand. To me they sound super good without Jim and sounded super good with Jim lol. It’s when bands kick out lead singers that makes it sound different. Like when metal church kept changing lead singers lol they sounded a whole lot different.
When Jim left Stone Sour it was noticeable. He and Corey work so well together.
I personally believe anything done by Corey Taylor and Jim root will be an awesome artwork
Honestly, while I dug hydrograd for what it was, I still prefer Jim root era stone sour. To me, he and Corey have this musical chemistry that you can't fake. I'd personally love to hear some new shit from those two again. May not be stone sour or slipknot, but I guarantee it'll be something worth sinking my teeth into for sure!
Yeah I mean the fact that they released this new Slipknot album was already amazing enough to me and I absolutely love it but the fact that Corey and Jim want to go off and do something completely new as well. Who could hate that?
Jim was the glue of Stone Sour. If they do anything like that thumbs up.
Yes! More Jim Root! ❤🔥I love him! 🤘🖤🤘
Would love it!! I miss Stone Sour.
Personally, I would be very excited if Corey and Jim created another band together. I LOVED Stone Sour but after Jim was out, Stone Sour just didn't feel like the same band. I'm all for bands experimenting with new stuff but the band just went down this road of what I would probably just refer to as pop-rock, where the songs just sounded like their main focus was to be on the radio and like I mentioned before, they didn't feel like Stone Sour. I always thought of Stone Sour (with Jim) as lite-slipknot. Where they had some heavy riffs but they were also not as restricted on only being heavy and let Corey be way more melodic and even just the songs to breathe more life. That's not to say I'm shitting on Slipknot. I really enjoy Slipknot.
This is awesome…I will say that I think it’s interesting that Corey’s reason for fans not to expect anything new anytime soon from SS is basically because he doesn’t want to split his focus between this band and the other things he’s got going on….sounds a lot like the decision Jim Root made before he got the boot 😅 live and ya learn lol. But hey, it worked out in the end for ‘em all anyways which is good 🤟🏾💯🔥
Corey and Jim my two favorite knots! After hearing Corey's first solo album and knowing that Jim is into some eclectic shit too, I think it could be very cool.
i already love the album 🤘🔥
They should call the new band Bitter Stone
I remember Jim Root playing in Atomic Opera with Mike Curry who also could friggin shred the guitar. Bloodsport is still dope. Anyhow always liked Jims projects outside of Slipknot, hope it works out
Oh..Atomic Opera!
I’ve always loved the stuff Corey releases, and if he’s starting another project I’m in !!
Stone Sour was an amazing band.
I'm looking forward to this
I'd be stoked if Jim and Corey put together another band. I feel like it would more than likely carry the same vibes as Stons Sour. Then again, I was really excited when I heard Corey Taylor was going to do some solo stuff, and when his solo album finally came out, I didn't care for it.
I mean Jim leaves Stone Sour citing issues with people in the band and wanting to focus on Slipknot, then Stone Sour goes on indefinite hiatus with Corey citing similar issues.
With this news seems like "Project X" might be rekindling like it did the first time Stone Sour reunited. Would be cool to see, cause you could tell Corey and Jim both loved being in Stone Sour together until it wasn't fun anymore. Plus Jim talked about a possible solo project at some point, maybe it might evolve into a side thing with just Corey, sorta like Look Outside Your Window.
Jim didn`t leave Stone Sour, he was fired.
@@Kevin_Oskar him being fired still means he left, and in response to that he cited those reasons
@@jeffpattonmagic4914 What, how? Saying he left is saying that he himself chose to leave, which he didn`t. They kicked him out. And he have explained that he was bitter about it for a while, but he`s over it now.
You can`t quit your job after you`ve been fired, because then you don`t have a job to quit.
@@Kevin_Oskar in that when they fired him, he didn't say "no" and just continued being in the band. If you're fired from your job, you have to "leave" the job. He left.
I can edit my comment and change the word choice if you would prefer
I rather see an album of jim and corey doing an album together than another stone sour album. After Jim was fired, I basically said enough. But those 2 doing a rock record would worth picking up.
Hell yeah I can’t wait to see what they will do love Corey and Jim
I need to get to one of these huge festivals…..I’m overdue for a road trip
I wanna see Jim and Mick in a different band..
Mick, and 133 are the only ones at this point who hasn't really been in any other band or side project since joining.
i would’ve loved to hear mick and joey form a band together. they were the two heaviest band members, RIP joey
i left slipknot and stone sour when that happened....ready to come back....NO4 fan
I love that you have so much going on Corey keep rocking in the free world 🎸🌎
Am I the only person that would love to hear “the mick Thompson project”? I bet mick has a lot he would like to say and play
Yep good stuff
Completely agree... He's definitely the metalhead of the band and between him and Jim. Jim & Corey will just make another Stone Sour/ newer Slipknot album, nothing special IMHO. Would be cool for Mick to do some old skool death metal band, he's heavily influenced by it.
Would be more interested in a new band that Jim and Mick started.
I heard that talcom x is playing the bass for the new band.
Jim Root got kicked out of Stone Sour simply for stealing the spotlight from Josh Rand... honestly I would have demanded more money too having to work with Josh Rand's Ego.
I remember reading back a while ago when Corey was with Slipknot and he was approached by Josh Rand with a demo tape of material that Josh wanted Corey to give a listen to because he was going to go the solo route and keep in mind thatl this was in the wake of I believe that it was either Josh's father or grandfather had recently passed away around that time and Josh was looking for some honest feedback and after Corey gave Josh's material an honest listen and Corey liked the material so much at this point (I believe that Corey was actually looking for an escape from the one-sided version of Slipknot from 1999) and plus Corey and Josh already had a past with Stone Sour so I believe Corey decided that he was going to proceed with Josh and those demos and they released the self-titled Stone Sour album.
This was all a money grab plus Josh had seniority and didn't like the fact that Jim was outperforming performing him on stage everynight.
I believe that it was all about who was making more money in Stone Sour and since Jim was already a member of Slipknot so that just made Jim a bigger draw so naturally that meant that Jim could respectfully demand more money but since Stone Sour was already a reestablished band it was just natural selection that Jim would get the boot and Josh would stay no matter who Jim was friends with from the other band.
From the interviews I have watched Jim does seem like a very smart and very humble guy but he also seems like (depending on which side you got on when it came to Jim) that he could also be an asshole too. Everyone know that with the territory of being a musician follows the black cloud known as "Ego" and Ego does play a huge role in any musicians life so the clash of the egos happened between two talented guitar players on stage who both could play the hell out of leads and could both could play rhythm guitar and I think that's what Josh didn't like about Jim was that when Stone Sour was reinstated that Josh thought that this incarnation of Stone Sour was going to be the Josh Rand show.
How many projects does Corey Taylor actually need at this point (like everyone else) can't wait to hear what Corey Taylor has to say about it.
Yes please !
Fuck yeah I’m pumped to hear a possibility
Dude if I see you at LTL I’m buying you a drink!!

Much love to you. Thank you for the support. Means more than you know.
Would dig that immensely. I only listen to the albums that Jim is on. Jim's my boy.
He literally is "my" boy, and I would be very excited to see him do something on the side.
@@kathy0698 I totally agree! #4 is my fav!
Stone sour wasn't the same after Jim was out. I hope they can put together something good that way similar to the early Stone Sour.
As long as it doesn't sound anything like Stone Sour, I'm in.
I’ve seen stone sour in 2018
Well Mr Corey going to slip in October! You guys are a legend!
That thumbnail makes them look like Han Solo and Chewbacca.
Going!!!!!
That'd be a fun project to Drum on ... 💯🤘
hell yeah bring it on
YES.
I would like to hear Corey Taylor voice in a band like TOOL .. his voice and his vocals and the new music he can create with Jim Root is something . . .
Yes
What bands have cancelled their tours for the next few months?
Jim was kicked out? i thought he said he wanted to work more on slipknot.
This makes no sense. Jim Root said he left stone sour because playing in two bands was spreading him to thin which made him unhappy. What would be the difference if he joins another band.
Gonna have to rename this channel "The Corey Taylor Update Show".
Nah
🔥
Jim Root looks like he could play Ryan Hursts brother in a movie, if you ever watch Sons of Anarchy or The Walking Dead, then you would know.
I’d be front and center 100%
Hell yes!!
Just bring Jim back into Stone Sour. Hydrograd was decent, but it's not the same without Jim.
Just do slipknot more regularly
Corey has a good friendship with jim just like how he did with paul
Jim looks like Thor from the upcoming God Of War
Amen Corey 🙏
I'm neither a fan of Taylor nor Slipknot, even though I respect Slipknot as a band even I like certain albums of; but I am a fan of James, and I'd be looking forward to listening to some songs of both of those guys.
Call me an old head all you want but nothing compares to the self-titled days.
"hair club for men is the new name
Lets hope Clown and Sid joins in and its Look Outside Your Window
Shut rhe front door what is thia rhe 3rd or 4th band rhia two have been in together
Great news.
I'm glad stone sour isnt coming back anytime soon. I hope it doesnt come back. I feel they reached their peak with that project. I wanna hear new stuff from a different source. Stone sour was good. But I think they could do more in a new project
dear corey and jim, can i join?
I don't know what to say but I hope Jim won't get kick out this time, I'm still mad about Corey because he didn't defend for Jim and any other members who left the bands that he involved. especially joey
You know what will be cool if chris fehn joins this new project
But what does Torey Caylor think about this?
hes a full blown woke liberal, just another soft soy body
Leon Doull
Yeah....It's going to be called Sour Stones
Just make it not like Stone Sour. Heavy. But grab Roy Mayorga for drums still. He was badass in Soulfly.
All I can hear right now is "Tired"
So Stone Sour with everyone except Josh Rand
Bc stone sour worked so well
New project? Nah they should join Steve T KNIPSLOT
Jim. Do your own thing with different people entirely.
Again?
Sadly he didn't use this logic while Joey was still alive.
Exactly. Now it’s too late for that, sadly. It probably made Corey wake up and say, “I need to patch things up with Root”.
I’m hyped for their side project as long as Joe Barresi isn’t producing it lol
Rock Tangy
How many bands does Corey need? It really doesn’t matter because I’ll be there.
Stone sour wasn't the same without Jim. Martucci is amazing, but just not enough to fill that void that Jim left. Nothing against Martucci.
Does this mean that he’s leaving slipknot?
Honestly, couldn't give a shit less whether they do or don't.
How many bands corey will make..
He wants more owner ship since clown is basically the founder.
Slipstone? Sourknot?
Stone Sour 2.0?
It was kind of ironic when they removed root from the band
He wanted out
More irony
I don't get why they kicked Jim tho...? Makes no sense... But glad to hear that Corey is doing something about it
did vman lose weight too?
i know clown did years ago and recently mick, but now vman???
Stone Sour 2.
Jim was kicked out of Slipknot?! I heard he left to focus on The Gray Chapter album
No, out of Stone Sour
