I think you can totally do a reverse declutter in your shed. Take everything out. Deep clean the shed, build the shelves and put only the things back that you really need and love. Set bounderies for your seasonal decor, like you did with the stuff under your sink in the kitchen. Your shed will be funcional and simple to mantain. I believe in you and your decluttering muscles. Monica
It was so good to see you toss the old, metal, yard decorations. my brain was automatically thinking "they just need some fresh paint". but no - you don't have the urge to fix them up, so out they go. Keeping things that will be fixed at some magical point in the future just increases clutter. Thanks for a visual lesson on that
Okay you were not kidding about the garden stakes 😂 it's funny how we find out which categories keep us in a chokehold while decluttering. Ask me how I know (candleholders) 😂
We inherited a lot of yard/garden decor from my in laws last year. I already said goodbye to a broken solar light this year. My hubby hoards utility buckets and the plastic garden containers he has a shelf full of them in the garage. Good job on the tossy tossy pile hope hubby gets some cash for all the metal.
I hope that you take the next month or so as a vacation, at least partly. Schedule fun activities each day, like you would for a planned holiday. Give yourself ~4 hours EACH DAY to do purely fun activities: crafting, going on short day trips, spa-day self care, etc. Four hours is a nice-sized block of time for doing a lot of things, but it still leaves you half of a standard work day for handling responsibilities.
ETA: Taking holiday time *now* is good for your physical & mental health, of course. But, thinking ahead, whatever new job you get might not leave you much holiday time for the first few months. So grab it while you can!
Aw. This gave me little happy flashbacks to when me and my mom had a garden and garden stuff in the summer back at the little old house we lived in... 💚Summer break and the chimes outside in the cool breeze, and the freshly planted little flowers. My favorite season is fall but I love those moments in summer and all the glassy, colorful outdoor decor. 🌼☀
We were on a 10 day cruise. Took a carry-on only. Then, visiting my sister for 2 weeks. Glad there's room left in my carry-on. I've also traveled with only an overnight bag. I only travel with what I can carry. Tina, Al's wife
I would love a garden shed like yours. Well done on the decluttering. Must see the shelving when it is done. Glad to hear your health check is ok, but still take care.
I’m so proud of you. You are making choices fast and moving great. I remember when you struggled and was only able to do a very small amounts. 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Delighted you got the all clear from the doctor. Another great pile leaving and when the scrap metal goes too the space will be amazing. The shelving will be a wonderful addition and make everything more accessible too. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏🙏👍💪💐🐈
Thank you for allowing your sons to be involved in decluttering their items. My mother didn’t do that and it only reinforced me feeling like I had no control of my life. While most of the things were given to our large extended family who were in need...and I had no problem with that...I wasn't ready to part with some items. Bless you. 🙏💜🙏
I am motivated by your declutter. Cleaned through some crafts this week. Got that organized. May let go of a few things, and maybe not. Shed needs it too. Basement and garage too. Everyday something is done though. It will take awhile, but it is progress.
I'm so happy to see you are able to get outside. Remember to listen to your body. I found out i have a problem with one of the four units on my thyroid. I barely have any vitamin D. But, I have too much calcium in my blood. Hyperparathyroid .They can not give or let me take anything to build my Vitamin D up. Because my left kidney produces kidney stones. I have turned the issue over to God. Made it easier not to get over worried. I hope you can get rid of all the stones soon. Take care. And, i enjoyed the video.
I’m so excited for you that hubby is taking all that stuff for scrap! If I recall correctly, there was some stuff in the basement for him to take too? That’ll make for an amazing clearing of space! 🥳 I’m so glad you’re really tackling stuff and making great use of your time away from work. You’re providing great motivation for me too! I love clearing off my to do list. The time will go fast for sure! 🎉👏🏼
Love your videos. Housemate and I did a quick (40 minutes total) look through his storage room before putting up the heavy shelving. I took the decluttered stuff to trash/recycling/bagged-for-donation. And he got a second table to put next to his comfy chair which he really appreicates.
So motivating! A dream shed for sure! I live in spidercity so seeing you just grab stuff really helped me get started cause I hadn't even peeked in my shed I'm so freaked out by them 😂
Woo hoo, good for you getting in to that shed, and ‘shopping’ the garden decor you already have! 🥳👏👏👏🦄 It will help you to avoid being tempted to buy new stuff for sale around now (not just at garden centres - at the supermarket, the pharmacy, the gas station, etc.) Great timing to get the shed ready for summer!🦋🌸🌼🌻☀️🍦
Our garage was 2.5 cars. No storage shed. My rule was the garbage had to be able to hold both cars in winter. Shelves in the 1/2 space was a life saver. Needing storage for 4 bikes was a must . Yes the kids used the bikes a great deal. So containers. Desiganat3 spaces for garden equipment. Sport things ... helped so much. Kids helped each fall to clean up garage. In spring I did it as it was time to put away winter specific. I miss those days. Kids did like 5he Saturday October clean. I noticed as time went on the garage clean out reduced from a full day to a few hours. So all your time investment now will be ruchkt rewarded
Ms. Heart! I want you to know how comforting it is to me to watch your videos. I especially appreciate when you talk about letting your kids make their own decisions. It feels so caring, and it's also teaching them to become independent thinkers. It shows you love them and trust them to make the best decision for themselves. My Mom did not do that. She could be very emotionally hurtful. Now, as an adult, I'm past all that. It still does warm my heart, though, to hear a Mom nurture her kids in their individuality. Love you to for this!!
Delighted you got the all clear from the doctor. That declutter pile is great and when hubby takes all the scrap metal the space you will have will be fantastic. The shelves will be a brilliant addition too and will make things more accessible too. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏💪👍🙏💐🐈
Brilliant Job clearing out all the old and rusted garden items. It is nice that you are planning shelves to reorganise this space as I think it will help you categorise the gardening and outside play item you are keeping so you can clearly see how much you have and enable you to find it easily each season.
The fun is going through the seasonal stuff in storage when the time of year comes around again...like setting up all the holiday decorations you kept in storage for a whole year.❤❤
so happy that you are getting better! great declutter, you are doing so awesome! I'm proud of you! and teaching its ok to keep or toss. 🙏🙏💗💗🤗🤗👏👏👏👏👏👏🎉🎉🐈🐈🤗🤗
oo love this. I would def say you should keep the shed as a functional space that you can walk in and out of, bring the mower in and out, etc. without having to move things out of the way. decide which categories should be in the garage and which in the shed. but def set up a center aisle so you can walk in easily and find what you need! can't wait to see the shelves :)
This fellow Jersey Girl is with ya on Summer-- I love Summer! My granddaughter is off from school. It stays lighter later. I love the heat and sunshine. Backyard BBQs rule! A nice trip to Keansburg with the granddaughter is always fun. Fireworks and Forth of July are awesome. Even just a lazy evening on the front porch with friends enjoying a cup of coffee or tea together is something I enjoy. I get a little depressed around Labor Day-- but my birthday is October 1st and Halloween is October 31st so that gives me things to look forward too. I also LOVE Christmas very much (we celebrate it in July too) Nice job today 👍 👏 🎉 You did great at letting things go. ❤ I am motivated to go through my shed now. I hope I can let go like you did 🤞
4 cups of water 1 cup of sugar is all you need for hummingbird food. 😊 You can make extra and store it in the fridge just make sure it's room temp before serving to the birds.
To save some money you can search for flowers that become dormant during the winter (like tulips) they bloom and then you can harvest theyr bulbs and keep them until next season!
i would keep the shed as gardening tools and garden activity and then the garage as car stuff and garage sale stuff. and then the basement for seasonal/home decor and sentimental and whatever hobbies are down there and then nothing in the attic expect for guest stuff and party supplies. cant think of any other category.
Only 40 degrees in Ohio today so I will just be inspired until we warm up again! ??question! Not about decluttering but I am curious about your diet in regard to kidney health. What do you do to help your kidneys heal? Perhaps you can squeeze in a minute on a future video to share? Have a great day! 😊
you think stones are smooth.. they are more like geodes.. sharp shards. the other thing they don't tell you its bacteria makes the shell.. that's why they give antibiotics when they blast them.. I assumed it was bc they scrape their way around. garlic and lemon is supposed to help prevent them.... learned online after I got them... and explains why growing up I didn't have them. once you have them its common to get them.

Mine is candles and soap
@angelarothbauer8096 I'm sure you and your home smell fabulous, lol.
Glad I found you again from nz, now subscribed

I love when you shop your treasures and how much your strenght and knowledge of yourself knows what to keep and what to let go. Way to go Mrs Heart😍🤗
"This is an amazingly feeling but it's not gonna bring the moment back" gilrrrr you are HEALED I'm so proud of you

Great job….cant wait to see it when you get rid of all the scrap metal….btw your looking great 😘❤️
Great progress and cant wait to see the next shed episod. ❤❤❤
That was a grand improvement from when you opened the door. So many things can be outside this time of year.
I'm so happy to see you are able to get outside. Remember to listen to your body. I found out i have a problem with one of the four units on my thyroid. I barely have any vitamin D. You are sounding positive and looking well, inspiring
Great results from first shed declutter, you did well letting go of sentimental items 🏏🎃 ⚾️
Great work. I knew it was going to be good 💖 I look forward to the follow up 💖
I’m so excited for you that hubby is taking all that stuff for scrap! If I recall correctly, there was some stuff in the basement for him to take too? That’ll make for an amazing clearing of space! 🥳

I can't wait for my hubby to go to the scrap yard too.
Perfect timeto declutter shed congratulations fantastic job once again 🦋🌸🌷🌻🌼❤
Great to hear Pepper say a different opening!❤
Love your videos. I now tell myself don't put it down, put it away! Great progress on the shed.

Wow what a great job. You have really done well to get rid of those child things and could be creative projects x
Loving this new area you are working on!!!

Wow I am glad you are feeling better!
Great job Melanie!💗
I need to clean out my garage (probably next week). This is good motivation!
Yay!!!!!! Finally, the shed! How satisfying!
We cleaned out our shed too. We now have 6 empty bins which I hope to keep empty. Hahaha

Love 💕 thanks for sharing your progress. A little tip on the outdoor floor mats if you spray them with a protectant or sealer they won’t fade
Great progress! I’m so proud of you and I’m so grateful for the inspiration and motivation you give me! 🌸
Hello from Germany,hi Miss Heart, 🎉 cool, you do it, rock the hoard🎉🎉🎉🎉

You are such a beautiful young woman. I have my pots ready to be scrubbed out when a little warmer. we has three inches of snow here yesterday!
Great job, as always! I am also SO excited to get gardening! Still too cold here to plant much (until end of May) but some cold crops are in!
U r so brave ❤❤❤❤❤
Great start on the garage!
Looks great so far!

The only seasonal stuff I like is what is naturally occurring. No storage needed
🎉🎉❤❤💐💐
July 2024. Every day I get rid of at least 20 items. Today's were garbage and recycling. Paper bags, plastic doodads, etc. Tina, Al's wife
There are probably a ton of people in your area who would happily pick up the scrap metal for free.
Yes I was going to recommend the same. I have a neighbor who picks up scrap petals and makes alot of useful tools and gear❤.
That is a prime yard sale shed. Get rid of stuff and make money
Sorry to hear that you were laid off of your job.
