But can be run through parallels VM windows. Many people are wondering like me, what would the performance be like on this beast of a machine. Thanks. Subscribed. ;)
Any testing on Vectorworks 2022 in the near future? I’m waiting for the M1X so will report on my impressions using the hi quality imports of Globeplants which are very taxing!
Good news I just tested twinmotion with some of my university professors :) I have the 10c/16c with 16gb RAM We came to similar results - what we did: we loaded the stacked tower archicad model and created multiple paths with cars, people, rain, created new vegetation and it ran ultra with 30-35 fps Later we tried directlink to archicad and thus had it open at the same time on a 2nd 27“ 4K monitor - no intense or noticeable difference. We then added a WebEx meeting with shared screen - no difference - webbrowsing neither. Just when we added a batch processing (400% increase resolution, 600% sharpen and saving as tiff, 50 big files) it dropped to 27 fps … I am really stoked! :)
Addition: We had a windows laptop running besides it with an RTX 2080 mobile version which did it with roughly the same performance. But now completely for it‘s sake optimized Programms etc It had the fans running high and very loud managing it all And the MBP didn’t kick the fans (to my ears) on at allllllll in the entire test. Not once. On non optimized software. Incredible machinery :)
So far I am glad I got the Base level M1 Pro but agree that future iMac M1 Max will be exciting, but no need to wait as the laptop and big screens make it more flexible!
Awesome testing... To be completely honest I would thought it would perform better because of all the benchmarks i've seen, but those benchmarks never account for a hungry RAM and GPU intensive Twinmotion... I'm guessing you bought the entry level 14" with a bigger ssd ?
I think it’s amazing FPS. My PC desktop with a quadro rtx4000 and Xeon 4114 cpu with 48gb of ram is getting 20fps on Ultra, mid 30s on high. Running 2 4K monitors. To think Jonathan is also recording and is running native resolution, means M1 pro is pretty special.

Twinmotion works well on my M1 Pro so should work well on the M2 but I have not tested that. I doubt it will work well though parallels, but why not try?

So far the 16 GB 16 core 16" is amazing for me and has been enough. Maybe at some point for bigger models 32GB and the 32 core would be better, but you can easily work in medium or High settings rather than Ultras and wait a little more for renders as its so fast anyway.
Are you running TM with an add on like Rosetta? I’m an interior designer and about to upgrade my old laptop. I’ve ordered the M1 Max which is probably overkill. Hoping it will run TM with Sketchup but wondering if I still need to use Rosetta?

I have already done a couple of projects in Twinmotion 2021.4 on my M1 MacBook Pro and it was smooth and worked well with no crashing at all. Path tracer is in the new 2022 preview and not on Mac Yet but hopefully may come
Maybe check out some M1 videos and then add about 1,5x to 2x the performance :) I extrapolated that guess from twinmotion comparisons, my experiences and 3D gaming comparisons on UA-cam :)
That's true but as Twinmotion is pretty much totally GPU based not sure how much optimisation will affect things in the future, but let's hope it can help a bit!

Just get the Epic Launcher, then from the Unreal Engine tab, get Twinmotion.

I don't use those softwares as Vectorworks can do everything I need I terms of modelling!
would Twinmotion works smoothly on MacBook m1 16gb?
I find the smaller scenes run well on the my M1 MacBook Pro, but large scenes slow down bit, but final render quality is the same either way.

Lumion does not run on Mac, but Enscape are developing a Mac version so sticking with Twinmotion for now.
