    Just a point of interest...Outside temp is not skinair temp. The skinair heat exchanger is simply a boxed section between two ribs. On ground the heat dissipation by it can be enough to melt snow and ice in the right conditions. Point being sometimes on ground the configuration is open when you might expect closed. Or the other way around if the a/c has just arrived and the skin is still cold soaked.

    Great video. In abnormal configuration, since the air is not being discharged anywhere, where does it go? You got AV from the duct allowing air under some pressure going in. you got both fans running. Skins are closed, exchange by pass closed. Where does all this "excess" air go to? Also, when air vents to the underfloor, isnt the underfloor unpressurized? where does this underfloor air go to later on?

    • @poh
      @poh  2 роки тому

      There is no excess air, you actually need air because that's why pressure is low in the ducts. Once the system is fine the fault goes away and you've to reset the system to normal and ECAM disappears.
      Cargo underfloor is pressurized place only. It comes back to the system again.

    The EXTRACT pb in OVRD forces the system into a closed configuration (and AC air is added to the ventilation air). It doesn't "give the system a chance", it commands it to go into closed config plus AC air.

    • @poh
      @poh  2 роки тому

      Technically if you see it's not fully closed circuit as it says in the manual. The cargo underfloors circulation is cut off. Hence its not exactly a closed circuit configuration.

    What about the ventilation of the Cockpit Instruments & Cockpit CBs?
    In the chart I see only the air passes through the Avionics EQPT!
    What's the purpose of the SKIN EXCH OUTLET BYPASS VALVE? Why does the air goes to the Avionic Bay? What is Avionic Bay actually? Aren't the EQPTs supposed to be in there?
    When Airbus FCOM says:
    "When the EXTRACT pushbutton is set at OVRD, the extract fan is controlled directly from the pushbutton. Both fans continue to run"...
    So, If the authority of the EXTRACT fan is now transferred from the AEVC to the pilot .. What the hell is the purpose of that if we can't stop the FAN or do anything with FAN???!!! You airbus give me the authority without the ability to control?
    I have never seen such a very bad documentation publication... There's so so many discrepancies in the Airbus FCOM and a miswritten explanations in terms of context and common sense!
    Thank you for the effort!

    skin hear exchanger doesn't have coolant. it installed above the cockpit door between frames 12 and 14 in close circuit config. when hot air touch the A/c skin it cools down. A drainage system is included to remove any condensation when the heat exchanger is in operation.

    Hello, firstly thanks for uploading these videos, they are quite helpful! 😊
    I am unable to wrap my head around the ground/flight threshold definitions. Considering ground threshold, for example, what does “+12˚C, temperature increasing” mean? Can you explain what happens if the ambient air temperature is 13˚C/11˚C/8˚C while the aircraft is parked at the bay? The language used in FCOM is quite confusing.

      You're welcome! Read the following one by one and slowly!
      1) Its above 12 outside it remains open
      2) If its increasing it remains open
      3) If its decreasing and becomes 11 it remains open
      4) at 10 remains open
      5) at 9 remains open
      6) Below 9 it goes closed
      A) if its below 9 it'll be closed
      B) if its decreasing it'll remain closed
      C) if its increasing if 10 it'll remain closed
      D) if its 11 it'll be closed

    Hi ... in abnormal configuration how is is air vented outboard .... as air is continuously introduced through the air conditioning duct?

    • @poh
      @poh  3 роки тому +1

      The air conditioning air is added only to cool down or regulate the temperature because generally the blower or extract fault will be for these two reasons only. So once its under control the flow is automatically adjusted and the fault also disappears.

    I m sorry . I still don’t quite get on ground threshold : 12degree Celsius and increasing or 9degree Celsius and decreasing . What do you mean by 12 degree c and increasing ?

    • @poh
      @poh  4 роки тому +2

      Skin temperature of the aircraft is 12 degrees and increasing (skin temperature of the aircraft increasing). 9 and decreasing also means the same. They have given two values with a gap of 3 degrees so that there is no unnecessary changes in the configuration by just a change of 1 degree or so. Either the temperature has to go completely above 12 or come below 9. In between it stays where it is was last. The 3 degree gap is also because of inaccuracy in measurement of temperature by the sensors.

    • @poh

      The pbs are mere method to reach a certain configuration and the override is not directly linked to the fan, the override is to do with overriding the capability of the aircraft to change configuration and keep it in one spot.
