Excellent Video!! Thanks for posting. I began building in 2020 shortly after I retired. My first build was the Saturn V followed by the Downtown Diner. Around the time I began on the Diner, I discovered light kits. For the Diner, I chose Game of Bricks because their kit has flashing LEDs in the jukebox. Over 4 years later, not a single issue! My Diner looks fantastic! Installing in a 3 story building was certainly a daunting task! Lol! Especially when you consider that I had never built a single Lego kit prior to the Saturn V. Installing these light kits requires extreme patience. I don't remember what kit I used in the Saturn V, but I only installed in the stage 1 engines. I also used Game of Bricks lights in the Apollo II Lunar Lander. Building Lego has been an ongoing hobby for me since I started in 2020 with the rocket. All of my larger sets are lighted & in cases. Most of my light kits are by Light My Bricks. Like Game of Bricks, they offer excellent customer service, & ship quickly since they have a U.S. distribution center. Below is a list of my builds. Although some light kits offer fewer lights, each one offers a different challenge! A good example is the install in the ISS International Space Station! I broke 3 wires adding a single LED on one of the solar arrays. 😂 LMB was quick getting out a set of replacement LEDs. I have the Lego 'Motorized Lighthouse' on the way, and I decided to buy the remote light kit w/sound from Game of Bricks. Great price for this kit! As mentioned in this review, across the board, Game of Bricks kits are typically half the price of LMB. Not to mention, more of their kits do offer remote control than LMB, And a few also have sound & effects! I'll be ordering the Game of Bricks light kit (remote & sound) for my new Lego Loop Coaster, as well. My LEGO builds.... Saturn V (LED kit / KBS case), Downtown Diner ( GoB lights / KBS case), Tree house (LMB lights / KBS case), UCS 1989 Batmobile (LMB lights / KBS case), 1989 BatWing (LMB lights) / iDisplayIT printed wall mount case), International Space Station (LMB lights / KBS case), Apollo 11 Lunar Lander (GoB lights / KBS case), The Starry Night (LMB 2.0 lights / KBS wall case), The Nightmare Before Christmas (LMB 2.0 / Wicked Brick printed case). I also have the small 1966 Batmobile & Tumbler. These are in KBS cases. No lights. Not yet built..... Hogwarts Castle (6,020 pieces) (LMB w/ remote / iDisplayIT printed case), Discovery Space Shuttle (no light kit or case yet ordered), Loop Coaster (GoB w/ remote / no case), Motorized Lighthouse (GoB lights / iDisplayIT printed case) Going down the Light Kit rabbit hole + the Display Case rabbit hole is quite a journey, and not for everyone.
Yes, I have the DeLorean and the Batmobile '89 kits, both from Game of Bricks. I am satisfied! Didn't try the battery boxes, I just run them off of a USB power bank.
Every light kit I’ve ever installed has been a hassle, even the expensive ones 😆 I just don’t enjoy doing it, but the results are great! That said, the install for Hogwarts went about as smoothly as I could have hoped.
@@stephanberger3476I read "in the fridge" and freaked out for a second. It would be a funny joke though. Your friend goes to grab a drink and Hogwarts is just in there.
Stellar video bud. I greatly appreciate the info. I'm still on the fence about buying kits or creating my own Radio Shack special kits. You definitely pointed out some great pros and cons. Mad props and thank you for the video.
@@keltondavisLEGO I agree. It costs an arm and a leg to buy the other brand and I rather save that money on another Lego set. That’s just me. And oh btw, the remote version of Game of Bricks on the Ice Castle is absolutely gorgeous. The most I get is just the remote version, not remote with sound, although I think you can mute the sound in some way, not too sure.
Thanks for the review! Planning on investing in some Game of Bricks components to light up a train MOC. It looks like they've stocked their store with the similar Wireless Power Connectors that LightMyBricks has in stock. Perhaps these can be used at each train car to make it easy to couple and uncouple.
These days, there’s a light kit for pretty much every modern LEGO set out there. They may not be offered by every company, but it’s fairly easy to find the kit you want.
i have buying from lighttailing and using bricksmax, i did also mistaking some sets. i did contact with customer service and they did need some photos but they did sending right set. but it was well weird. they did also having connectors for different floor disconnect but it is not so good explain in the manual. i wonder how 2.0 version doing it is upgrade version of the light techique and really curious of it.
@@keltondavisLEGO true but i did order Bricksmax 2.0 and it have arrived today and i shall try what they are differents. also it is cheaper and it can delivered in mine country and yes i did order with black friday sale.
I'd say about 3-4 hours total. It's not too difficult, but it is very tedious and time consuming, I have big hands so the tiny connectors and wires can be frustrating. The final product is worth it, though!

The channel is super underrated. Good and interesting video. :D
Thank you! Just talking about what I love!

Good to hear! I plan on eventually powering them all through wall outlets, but haven’t got the resources to do so yet.
@@keltondavisLEGO I have Hogwarts on the fridge, downstairs. The kit looks awesome, but such a hassle to install :0 Or didn't you think so?

Thank you! 🙏 I don’t think you’ll go wrong with either option. Just depends on how much time you want to put into it.
I bought a set for my Millennium Falcon 75375 and was so impressed I ordered another 4 sets for other Lego builds
They've all worked well for me! Saved me a ton of cash, too.
The space shuttle with these lights looks amazing.
Good to hear! Did you use a Game of Bricks kit or another brand?
Bevins Bricks makes lighting kits. He's a professional electrician and makes some sophisticated stuff.
If I had the know-how, I’d go totally custom like him.
I don't have any light kits, but I want one for my Lion Knight Castle.
I’d give these a try! Especially because the Light My Bricks version is crazy expensive.
I do use Game of Bricks lighting kits for quite a few of my Lego sets. If you buy the version with remote there is flashing lights feature.
I’m finding it’s probably the best deal on LEGO light kits around.

That’s good news! Good luck lighting up your MOC.
I may need to try these!
I think they’re worth it, and can save you a lot money 💰
i am hoping to get a light kit for the quinjet and the avengers tower, (if such exist)

Apparently Light my Bricks 2.0 is supposed to be amazing, but I still think it’s too expensive.

Hey, what will come out before? More Johnny Thunder or Harry Potter?
Johnny Thunder most likely! Working on getting my hands on the Jungle sub theme!
how long did it take to install the light kit on hogwarts and is it really as difficult as they say?

The Hogwarts looks soooooo good
It really came out great! Just used it as a centerpiece for a Halloween party.
Funwhole 😅
Either completely innocent or a total troll 😆
They're a scam...they never sent my stuff and refused to return my money
Sorry to hear that!
