This might be the best freaking jazz piano trio record I’ve ever heard, and I’ve been a pianist for 16 years. Well done Brad 🙏🏻😭 I will play like this one day, sir.
Hey dude nice work! Transcriptions like this take a lot of time! If you are open to advice, I would suggest that before you publish, just playback through the MIDI version of the transcription on Finale / Sibelius and see if it sounds right. If you've listened to the original recording enough, it will be way easier to hear mistakes than to see them. It will help you fix a bunch of small errors that you wouldn't notice otherwise! Again, nice work!
This is one of Brad's seminal solos. Fair play to BernardMusic, but I get the feeling whoever transcribed this isn't a pianist. For example, as early as bar 8, that chord should have an Eb on the top of the voicing, and a G natural in the middle.... bar 22, the left hand voicing should be, F#, B, Cnatural. In bar 26, the left hand voicing should have a C# on the bottom of it (making it A7#9) And in bar 43, the left hand chord should have a Cb in it, (i.e. the voicing is actually Abm6 not Abma7). I'm quite sure there are a bunch of other approximations in this transcription but these are the first few that jumped out at me after a couple of minutes listening. By all means check the video out for an insight into the kinds of wonderful stuff Brad does, but for serious scholars of the music, a little deeper examination of the voicing may be necessary
Thank you for your feedback, Liam! I get a strong feeling you are a pianist, aren’t you? :-D I know there are mistakes I made years ago. This was one of my first transcriptions ever, so perhaps today I would not write so many wrong notes. Please check out my other Mehldau’s transcription L.A. Pastorale, as a pianist. I think you might enjoy it! 😉 Cheers, Augustin Bernard
+BernardMusicOfficial badia.alex@gmail.com I would really appreciatte it if you send me this sheet. I need it for my piano lessons. Thaks so much and good work here bro!
@@@sid5537... Was this supposed to be a helpful comment to Benny Grenimann ? By the way, you should know how to spell "standart" correctly, before you presume to lecture other people. It should be "easy" for somebody like you who obviously thinks he possesses a superior intellect.
Interested Observer I think it’s pretty common practice to learn the changes to a tune before you tackle a transcription, especially one like Brad’s where the traditional harmony is sometimes thrown out the window anyways
What changes? "Real Book" changes? Those are a joke! Why bother? No offense, but for me the changes are what You make of them. You have to analyze them for yourself. Take Bill Evans changes for "My Romance". You can't get there from either the Real Book or the Sheet Music. If you could, we'd all be doing it. @@JasperGS

Like a fine wine, Brad Mehldau keeps getting better with each passing year.

@@Gerard_2024 He’s right though. First step, learn the tune…

Oh so he's the best there ever was? cool, got it
lol
thelonius monk reincarnated.
There are quite a number of mistakes here, but decent job.
This is what happens when you get a classically trained pianist that eases their mind. 🙃
