Given Angelina is still alive and no longer comatose, I wouldn't be surprised if we see her pop-up in the near future. In fact, I think it's a great idea. Stunner is one of the few 90s characters that can still work today, especially with the advance technology that we have right now. As a guy who is overweight, and has been since childhood, I know it's like to be bullied for being fat. I know how that can get to you after a while. Unfortunately Angelina let her demons take control of her. I truly hope that when we see her next, she's found someone that loves the real her, and not just the hard light blockbuster that she becomes with the technology. I'm surprised that, when Otto was in control of Spider-Man's body, she failed to pick up on familiar mannerisms and dialect, which were a Grand Canyon apart from the wisecracking web head that she fought before. And I have to get props to Octavius, because he truly showed that he cared for someone beyond their appearance. As such a grandiose villain, you would expect superficiality as to the type of woman he would go for, but there are layers to this character that the writers have taken advantage of. It's like he straddles the fence between anti-hero and villain more so in the past decade. But getting back to Angelina, it would be a good idea to bring her back and give an update on how she's doing and if she has found that special love. Perhaps even have Octavius seek her out only to be turned down.

Thanks for checking out my video and I agree that a good writer could take her in any number of directions. I always hope this channel will inspire a creator to bring these characters back. If 8-Ball can have a great come back in a random book like Moon Knight, the skies the limit for someone like Stunner.

Hmm... so Ock got himself a virtual girlfriend. I mean, can't blame him. I'd hop into the machine myself. Great concept there, very relevant nowadays. This is an obscure character that could actually earn a movie debut.

Thank you for watching this episode and leaving a comment. I hope it came through how much I dug Stunner and I agree, a good writer (comic or film) can do something fun with her and her VR shtick in the future.

good point especially in this era but slw's would get mad at the overweight woman changing to a "ahem" stunner

If I'm correct Stunner is no longer a virtual Sim. Angela Brancale is a real deal Superhuman now.

@@pauldareason Yeah, and the right-wingers would complain about her being too muscular, or overweight, or just being a woman at all. Basically, if they can't fit her into their sad erotic fantasies, then she's horrible.

You can't blame Otto for being faithful to someone he was with at the time but it was still a mistake in some way to tell her that, she might come back as an uncaring menace now and poor Octavius is going to be on her list

Under the care of a new writer who realizes that Stunner is basically some kind of construct. She wouldn't need to breathe technically. She'd have no pressure points, blood, etc.. I very much like the concept that she's just not another pretty face. Her origin also allows for character motives that don't need to be about _taking over the city_ or _Robbing the bank_ but could be something more twisted but heartfelt. Like having her hunt down people who've broken their lovers *heart*.
Lastly, with the very nature of her abilities an artist wouldn't even have to stick to a height or how much bulk or lack of that she has. You could even have her face literally ripple with rage or maybe have her pupils temporaly flash emogi's. Weird design, there just so much potential there.

Thank you so much for leaving a thoughtful comment. Im glad my video served it's purpose and exposed how much potential Stunner has as a villain. All those ideas are great and I hope a writer catches this video and gets inspired.

I think this niche fishing thing is probably gonna net some decent views.
There're only so many ways to summarize or react to a single comic book story.
The popular storylines are already saturated with reaction or vid essay content of some kind.
The less well known stuff like this, or looking across different comics tied together by a single trope or writing idea you're exploring, might be the easiest way to carve out an audience in the comic book part of UA-cam.
Still looking for a Mr. Rogues (YT channel) replacement after he stopped uploading for a few months lol

@@ericdoyle362 There's a charm to the old stuff, even if much of it was written before I was even born (some of the newer stuff near or after the mid 2010s is hard to get into for some reason).
Spent a lot of time going through ancient comics that my school libraries had in the 2000s and early 2010s.
That, and I wanna see if there're any weird missed diamonds in the rough (old or new) I can use for inspiration for my own writing.

@@ericdoyle362 I remeber reading about stunner maaaaaaaany many years ago and had compltely forgotten about her and never realised how far her story went. What you have done was very entertaining with the exception of the "Spider-man needs more female villains" No, he needs more villains period. If they are female, awesome, but THE FACT that they are female should never be the driving force behind them being a spider-man villain. To me this character worked and was enjoyable simply because of her motivations and not because of her gender. That said I did very much enjoy the video and watched through to the end. Kudos

Hey thanks for checking out my videos and asking a pertinent question. I'm a big comic nerd and Ive reading for over 15 years now and I get tired of seeing the same bad guys over and over again. I read a lot of handbooks and have been introduced to hundreds of characters I now know about but I've never actually read a comic there in. As an example, I got excited when the Red Bee showed up in the recent Peacemaker series, and that's about as lame a hero character as you can get.
A problem arose when I went to look for videos on these characters and there were none. I decided if the content isn't there to watch then il make it myself. It's not for everyone but for those who do enjoy this subject I hope I can give them that feeling of excitement that I get.

Given how much Orchis is focused on mutants I don't think she'd be a good match. Not only because she doesn't strike me as a bigot, but because since Spider-Man isn't a mutant he wouldn't be on their radar. And I don't think Orchis would approve of their resources being used for a personal vendetta.

Can someone explain why Otto didn't kill Peter and didn't care about his identity

    • @ericdoyle362
      @ericdoyle362  Рік тому

Good question, let me try. During that story line Doctor Octopus explains that deep down he respects Spider-Man for his decency and his conviction. That in Spider-Man he sees the potential for good that he knows he had in himself had he not become the villain he did. Also Spider-Man serves as a routine and challenge for him.
By curing Spider-Man he would have won a victory in his mind that played into his next plan that never got started because of the whole Kane breaking his neck thing. Also maybe because he was married to Aunt May for like 15 minutes. Hope this helps
